Cool Some questions???

Hi all! A friend of mine has lost 50 pounds so far on this plan - she however has a few extra dollars in her pocket!! I have 6 kids and lint in mine lol - anyhoo, I am going to go with her to her center Thursday and check it oout - but I was wondering couldnt I just drink the protien drinks 4 times a day ( get them from an online store) and eat using the recipies posted here and have similar results????

I have been posting in other forums here for a while, and slowely ...painfully making progress - but after seeing how far my girlfriend has come in the same amount of time....am getting a bit discouraged... so if anyone could answer that for me I would be most appreciative

Thanks

theycallmemom - This is a great program if you follow it the way it's designed you will lose weight. Taking short cuts slows you down. I lost my weight with MRC 4 years ago and kept it off for 4 years. I recently had a baby and really struggled with the emotional side of a few things....Anyway I am back on because I know this is the only thing that has worked for me---Not just the weight loss portion but the emotional support. Because we all know it's really not about the food it's typically the issues behind the food!!
I get not having the money but it's worth it in the long run--if you take short cuts it will take longer and essentially more $$$ though so be careful!!
Good luck on whatever you decide but remember the program is just a tool to help you lose if we don't change us eventually we go back to the same habits

I have to agree with heartscry, for me I needed the program part more than the diet. I need the accountability of having to weigh in at the center, I need to know that someone will check my food log. Also, I would be careful about following the plan on your own if you have no experience with the program. I'm just a nervous nelly that way! It is kind of pricey but for me I figured out that what I spent was about the same I was paying for WW, I just had to pay up front.

I'm pretty new to all of this so maybe some of the more experienced will have other words. Good luck

I did MRC before my wedding, but then porked out after the stress and pressure were off. I tried doing the program on my own, without the drinks, since I couldn't find an online store, and I did lose, but was not ultimately successful. It is expensive, but for me, doing the program on my own did not work.

I understand what you're saying, but it's about more than just the recipes & the drinks - there's a specific list of foods you're allowed, the amounts of those foods, and when you eat them. It's really quite structured, but at the same time there's a fair amount of leeway within the structure. And you aren't just paying for the drinks & menus, you're paying for the support at the center.

And the support at the center is KEY! Most people fail over and over and over again because they don't have the support and the accountability. You will learn thru their guidance to support yourself and be accountable to yourself, but it is a long process to change.
