I literally think I can't eat sugary snacks anymore! I guess it's a good thing but it kinda sucks too! I made cookies (the kind you get in the fridge section of the grocery store) for my boys yesterday and budgeted my calories out so I could have 3 of them with no guilt... well, about 30 minutes after I ate them I started to feel SO SICK. I had to go take a nap because I felt like if I didn't I'd have to puke! Am I alone in this? is it a freak thing?! I haven't had any sweets in probably 3 weeks so it was weird!

It's very possible. I've been on WW for 2 months now, and last weekend I had a piece of popeye's fried chicken. I even took off the skin. It was my first fried food in a while. I was sick for two days!!! I guess your tummy just gets used to that healthy food

I do that too. I also find that the really sweet stuff that used to be SO good...when i eat it now days...it is just not as good as my memory makes it out to be. I am usually really disappointed in the taste of sweets here lately. And super fattening stuff just tastes really greasy. So not only has my stomachs tolerance changed...my tongues taste preferences have changed as well. Now if i could just convince my mind i dont like chocolate as much as i used to i would be fine. ha ha

Yupyup...you're normal I had McDonald's today for the first time in WEEKS, and I was runnin' for the bathroom not long after I guess it's a good deterrent from eating much junk, right? Congrats to you for eating so much HEALTHY food that your body now recognizes the crap and wants it OUT!

I get sick if I eat anything "unhealthyish". The only place I like to eat at often is Qdobas. It's a mexican grill...not really mexican though, it's hard to explain. Their burritos are about 1000 calories a piece, but for dinner tonight I ate a tortilla soup (minus meat, tortilla chips and sour cream) and a soft taco, only collecting about 390 calories. All of their ingredients are fresh, they even make their own salsa and tortillas! They have a website, Qdobas.com Check it out!!

Since I started dieting and cut most of the sugar out of my diet I get unbelievable sick everytime I eat either greasy food, fast food, or anything with high sugar. I had a piece of my own birthday cake a few weeks ago and about 2 hours later I wanted to throw up. I think it's my body telling me "what are you doing we don't eat that". It does encourage me to eat a lot better.

What I have been doing when I want cookies is I buy the "break and bake" ones by Pillsbury that are sweetened with splenda. They taste almost the same as the regular ones, have no sugar, and 90 calories each (instead of the 120 or 140 that the regular ones have).

I didn't know they had ones with Splenda!!! I think it really is the sugar or maybe the butter that bothers my tummy. I made pumpkin pie with splenda tonight and ate a big slice with no crust and I felt fine afterwards... although when you take off the crust and the sugar it's basically just eggs and pumpkin, isn't it? LOL Thanks for the responses!

I'm definitely another who gets very very ill when I go anywhere near fried or greasy food.

The moment it hits my stomach I just *know* it was a massive mistake. I think the last time it happened I didn't move from the toilet seat for about 24 hours :P

Cakes, lollies and anything sugary sweet tastes...bland to me now. I can have one or two mouthfuls and then just go off it. Unless it's caramal slice...mmmm...THAT can be deadly :P Though having said that the last time i ate some my tummy didna feel so good and it wasnt a big bit.

Oh well...it's no loss!

I haven't eaten anything really sugary or greasy in a while, so I'm not sure about that. However, I can tell you I had a bit of a mini-binge last night - after eating my LC dinner, I went and started eating some of my lefter chicken teriyaki like crazy.. don't ask me why! After that I had to walk to the store, and my tummy felt upset all the way to halfway through the shopping trip - I guess I'm not used to eating THAT much food anymore!

ya, I can sorta attest to the sugar thing, and the incredible shrinking stomach

I definitely find myself feeling not so good when i eat really sugary things, and I can't eat nearly as much as I used to be able to. (not that either of these are a bad thing mind you....) It's strange, I felt hungry when I first started counting cals, and would always eat up to the maximum I allowed myself, and now it's like my body has accepted it's just not getting as much or the same nasty overprocessed junk I was eating before.

It's funny how much less whole "good for you" food it takes to feel satisfied than the processed junk!

On the topic of food quantity, after years of overeating, your stomach actually stretches out to accommodate larger amounts of foods. When you begin eating less, your stomach actually gradually shrinks back down to a more normal size, so when you overeat again, it hurts because your stomach is no longer big enough to hold that much food comfortably. This is also why when you first start cutting back on the amount you eat, you may feel hungry, but after a few days or so, you don't feel as hungry anymore since your stomach shrinks, so it takes less to fill you up.

I used to be a Dr. Pepper addict, but have since gone to Diet Pepsi (tastes the best to me). So I had one the other day and it tasted horrible to me. I just tasted sugar sticking to my teeth. I was let down, but hey that is a good letdown right?
