Today is our 7th Annual United Way Bake Sale here at work. Ugh! I'm usually heavily involved with it, but I asked to be excused this year.
But it's still hard. All kinds of wonderful cookies and such. And, I KNOW they're all wonderful, because I've had them all before. LOL Thankfully, someone brought some bananas and I brought a 24 pack of water to sell. So, I went down and spent a dollar and got a banana and some water. LOL At least now I don't feel guilty about not buying anything.
But it's still really hard. And I've got 3 more hours of it.
You can make I know. Just think about those cookies, pies, and cakes going straight to the hips of the people eating them. Do you remember that commerical with the cinnamon buns on the butt cheeks of someone (I think it was for Nutrigrain bars). Think of that and you will not want to eat anything baked today!
just tell yourself, the table won't be there tomorrow but the extra calories from indulging still will!!! Or imagine how many extra minutes you'd need to workout to get rid of it... if you still can't resist, don't torture yourself. Split something with a friend and take an extra walk today.
I have had several experiences like this in the past week (it seems every student organization is raising money that way). Luckily for me I try not to eat sugar so I can use that as an excuse or I either buy something without sugar (if they have it) or do as you do and get a piece of fruit if they have. Good job dealing with the temptation.
You can do it... Im sure by now the bake sale is over, but I still wanted to say I understand how hard it is.. and I'm proud of you for getting a banana and water!
How is this for a mental picture. i have 66kg (145lb) - YES, 66KG! - of jelly beans on my desk. I am being a good girl but the fact that they keep falling out of the bags isn't helping me while packing them.
Amusing really as 66kg was my original goal weight.
