Unhappy I need some motivation

I guess I'll give some background info first (I'm a huge talker, btw, so this may get long. haha) I had my second daughter at the end of May of this year. I got lazy and didn't start working out until the 1st of July. I worked out with a personal trainer 3 days a week and did the elliptical for 45 minutes 3 days a week (so I was at the gym 6 days a week). I lost 41 lbs (228 lbs down to 187 lbs). All was good, right?

So September comes along and everything goes down hill. My husband is the Sr. Networking Administrator for his company, and he was in charge of a building move. He worked 15 hour days (a few as much as 20 hours!) the ENTIRE month of September with only 1 day off. That left me without someone to watch the baby so that I could go to the gym. I bring my 2 year old with me because she likes to play in their daycare.

ANYHOW lol I started working out at the gym (without a trainer, I used all of my PT sessions) on October 3rd. This is when I realized that taking a month off really throws you off. I have ZERO energy now. My goals seem totally hopeless. I wish I could afford a GOOD trainer that would be "in my face" all the time.

So, in conclusion, I feel very "blah" and need some motivation My husband bought me an elliptical trainer and I get that in the mail this Wednesday. I really hope that it will be the answer to my problems. It doesn't help that I totally suck at eating. I love to eat a bunch of crap (fatty hambugers, chicken patties, ribs, etc.) so I stocked my freezer with Boca Burger products. I stopped gaining weight, but it'd be nice to start losing again!

Okay, I swear, I'm done with my whining. Sorry this is so long. I explain things with too much detail. haha If you read this whole thing then you deserve a gold star! :-D

Welcome!

I'm Fae... and I'll be one of your trainers.

The ladies here are wonderful. My best advice to get motivated is to come here every day, at least just to read. No one here will say anything about you whining or making long posts, and no one will be angry if you fell off the wagon.. believe me, I have more than once! What we do offer is unlimited support an encouragement, and pride as you take those pounds away!

So come join the threads and the challenges, start asserting yourself... You can do it! We're all here for you!

Thanks, Fae! I'm glad I found this 20-Somethings group. For the longest time I felt like I was the only person my age that was overweight. All the girls my age IRL are size 0's, and here I am a size 18 (down from a 22!). It's good to know that I'm not alone.

Don't worry, I was the same way... the boards are slower on the weekend.. but trust me, you'll get more responses. A LOT of people have been / are where you are now.

If you ever need to talk, Im here for PM/IM/MSN/whatever. I like to talk.

Ooooooohhhh Do I get a gold star?!?!

Don't worry, you will get right back into it will a bit o' hard work and determination!!
And I hear ya about the size 0s.......... it sooooo sucked being 20 years old and a size 26! Yikes!
But, just so's ya know, it CAN be done (though I am "better" at eating than exercising, so, maybe you can motivate me on that front!!!).

shrinkingchica - I actually DO have gold star stickers if you *really* want one lol I really wish I had more self control when it comes to eating. I think that's the hardest part about weightloss (for me). How do you do it? Has it always come easy?

mtp - on that, try journaling... I use Fitday for mine. Figure out your goal (for example, you want to eat 1600 calories a day), and then use your journal to record everything you eat.. you'll be surprised how much it helps!

I wish I had a bit more control as well!!!!
I do my best, though.

And easy, NO WAY! I used to eat my way clear to about 3,500 calories a day and had to cut back and cut back and cut back my way to about probably an overall average of 1500 a day now.

It really just requires a lot of sacrifice (at least for me........ eating that much was a way of life and sooo much comfort for me during a really bad time in my life) but little sacrifices made here and there over the course of a (sometimes long) period of time really do add up and eventually you can look back at it all and proudly see how much weight you have lost and how much you have accomplished.
But, it does require a lot of self-discipline.
There really is no easy way, if you don't exercise you have to harden yourself to eating a bit less and if you want a bit more to eat you have to harden yourself to exercise.
Unfair! If I had a magic wand or 3 wishes (besides world peace, ect.) I would wish that I (and alll you 3FCs too!!) could eat anything and everything I wanted and never have a BMI over 25 (the magic number).
