Default holy crapola! the beach in 3 weeks? Ahhh!

So my hubby was trying to keep it a secret. He was actually going to wait until the morning of our trip to tell me the surprise. He called my work and had me off for the whole week and everything.
Well I found out, we are going to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in 3 weeks! He has us at a resort there on the beach. Awesome, huh? Very sweet hubby!
But why do I feel so freaked out?!

Well, oh let me count the ways....
This completely will take me off of my diet, as this is an all inclusive resort so it's all you can eat and all you can drink for free. How will I ever recover from that?
Second thing, I haven't had a tan in 2 years! I haven't even worn shorts 2 in years, little alone a bathing suit! I will be blinding everyone on the bleach with my big white ***!
And another thing, I can't even find a bathing suit this time of the year to cover my ***. What on earth am I going to do?

Thank god he didn't wait till the day of to spring this on me, because I would of been so mad with no time to plan and be prepared. But even in 3 weeks, there's no way I can be prepared for this!

People will mistake me for a beached wale!
Totally freakin' out!

Wowowowo!! hehe that is awesome!! I'm completely jealous right now, of your husband and of your beach trip!
Reasons Not to Freak Out:
#1 A lot of resorts have healthy options.."spa food."
#2 You can take some healthy snacks with you so you don't feel tempted to over indulge.
#3 Portion control = resort food, just less of it.
#4 One week will not ruin all your hard work.
#5 I'm sure SOMEWHERE in Dallas they are still carrying bathing suits since I imagine it's still really freaking hot there. Plus, they are probably on sale since it is the end of the season.
#6 Spray tan! Or tanning lotion. You have plenty of time to work on it to at least take the glare off the white

See, so don't worry! It takes a little more planning, but you'll have a great time!

I bought a great swimsuit in September last yr. at Dillard's . Got it for about $20.00 and it was a $100.00 suit. You might check them out. Sounds like a great trip and I'd go and have fun. Don't worry about being white, a lot of the people will be vacationers and be very white. Enjoy the food and try to be conscious of the portions. Have some fun.

I am in your boat, but I have not had the element of surprise thrown in as well. I'm heading down to Padre in 3 weeks and am terrified! I don't have many suggestions (I think Lizzie covered them all), except to say to stick to you plan as much as you can before you leave- you will feel as best as you can when you get there and perhaps won't be as inspired by the unlimited food and drinks.

And spray tan, of course

Thanks everyone for the advice!
It definately makes me feel alot better about it!
I looked up activities at the resort, and they have pool exercises, and we can rent bikes to go bike riding. I'm sure I'll go snorkling too. I think I'll just try and stay really active. But I definately can't ignore spending a few hours laying on the beach too! *daydreaming*
I can just hear the waves now.
I'm thinking about going to get a base tan at a tanning salon so I don't burn when I get there, but I'm sure it won't get me dark enough as I like in time
so base tan to keep from burning, and then spray tan for the look
Now...*sigh* bathing suit shopping time. I think I found one on ebay I like
What do yal think?
It's a swimdress. Hopefully it will hide MOST of my cellulite LOL

My auction is about to end at $21...what a deal!

Sharper-

I'm so jealous of you! What a great guy you have! That is really sweet!

I also live in Dallas, so don't forget if you want, you can go get a spray on mist tan at Palm Beach or Planet Tan- You can also opt for a tanning lotion that you go buy at the local CVS and start applying it...to get some color going.

Also, I've seen swimsuits on the sales rack at Target and Macy's still.
You can always go check out the store in Highland Park-they carry ONLY Swim Wear, it's called : Just Add Water

-ps. Don't worry to much, just focus on how much fun you are going to have...and hey, it's ok to indulge, your on vacation. enjoy the food! Just keep in moderation

I user jergen's natural glow...it works slow you put it on just like lotion and in like a week you have a tan...looks natural and in three weeks you can be beach ready. Don't think about the all inclusive meaning you will binge...think of it as you get to eat AMAZING food that would probably be super expensive...you can try new things without having to worry about wasting money. Don't eat more food eat BETTER food hehe. And just try to be the best you that you can be by then...maybe find your bathing suit and try it on each night for motivation...add a beach background on your computer...subtle things.

Oh and heck yes what a nice hubby!
