confused

  • Ok I have lost another pound, I weigh 1 lb less then when I went to my first prenatal visit in September, but I still can not fit into my jeans. Am I losing the fat in other places?

  • For me it took 10-15 pounds before my clothes started getting looser, and I didn't have to buy new ones until 20 pounds. You're taller than me, so you're probably a smaller size than I was at 185, but think the general rule of thumb is a size every 10 pounds or so - I wouldn't expect my clothes to be loser after 2 pounds, either. and it doesn't just come off your waist - I've lost mine from the top down and bottom up! Big difference in my chest/arms/face as well as my legs and hips, but I've only just started losing on my stomach. It can take a while to see results, but you're on the right track, so don't get discouraged yet!
  • I guess I should clarify. Before I got pregnant I weighed around 184. When I went to my first prnatal visit in September I still weighed 184 and could still wear my jeans. But now I am at 183 and can not fit in to them yet. But I didn't know that 10lb is a size that is neat to know. So I have lost a total of 20 lbs since June. I just joined 3fatchicks so i put in my current weight as my starting weight.

  • prenatal? or post-natal?
  • okay i think i get it now, sorry! after having a baby your body type is different, after my first i got down to 20lbs less than before i was pregnant, and still couldn't wear the same size ( juniors at the time). it takes some time but don't get discouraged by the clothes, just find things that fit right
  • Oh sis....I totally know what you're going through...I was so distraught when I was at my pre-pregnancy weight and still couldn't fit into my jeans, but like the PP said, your body changes. How many months out are you? It takes a while for your hips so go back to their normal shape...if they ever do. Have patience they will fit soon!!!
  • I had my baby on May 11 by c-section. I know, I am just getting discouraged.
    thanks Jessica
