Hey everyone! I'm Jamie and I'm 22 and getting married in September. It's just that time..you know? When I can't take it anymore and need to get rid of it all! I'm looking to start out losing 70lbs then seeing how that works and then I'll keep goin! So good luck to everyone else!
Congrats on your engagement! When's your wedding and what your goal for then? I'm sure planning a wedding will be kinda stressful (but really fun) and it will really help to have a plan for your healthy eating. But don't you dare scrimp on trying the cake samples and enjoying tasting the food the will be served! You don't want to miss out on anything. Consider every pound that you lose a victory and don't get upset it you don't hit some arbitrary goal by your wedding day. Remember, every one you invite loves you no matter what you weigh.
Wow, didn't know i had some much to say on the subject of wedding! Hope that wasn't preachie (it certainly wasn't meant to be)! That is exactly what i tell myself when i think about planning my wedding. Now i just have to work on getting engaged. hehe. Best of luck to you! This is a really fun and supportive forum.
Oh god no..you weren't preachie at all! I loved it! My goal.....god I don't know! I'd like to lose at least 25-30lbs by September 9th! It may be a little far fetched but I'm gonna work on it! The wedding dress is a size 22! And I was a size 20 until I went to try on dresses so I'm hoping that if I lose a little bit they will have to take it in a little bit
Oh but no way...I'm eatin that cake And I'm drinking that wine or beer...or mixed drink...or whatever I want It will be my reward!
i just wanted to say that i think you picked an excellent, realistic goal. it's much like mine. i started this journey out at 259 pounds with my goal being 200 pounds. i want to lose that by the end of september (i started in january). once i'm there i'm going to re-evaluate what my next plan will be. heck, who knows i much just be satisifed at 200 pounds. after all i'm five feet nine inches. i think i'd look pretty darn good at 200. but i might want to lose another 20, who knows? right?
Hi Jaime! I am new here too and could really use a buddy too! i'm an internet junkie so I like this forum because its always going! My biggest problem is having support. I have support from my mother, but in a negative way, so I am looking for happy, yet truthful support!
Here is my story-
I am now 24 and this is my umpeth time trying to lose weight. I have been on this forum before and loved it, and weight was lost- about 30 lbs, but i lost track of it and gained it all back.
Previously- i was about 170-180 in high school and around 200 in college, but after i got preg i never lost any of the weight! i excercised and tried, but then post partum took over and depo provera didnt help, and i binged and ballooned. Relationship ended, more eating insuded... you all know the story.
Anyways, now i have a good job, a great daughter, graduating in a few weeks after 6 years of college and living on my own. I AM READY TO DO THIS!! there. i feel better.
Angie...if you need support I'm there! Like I said in my myspace message it looks like we have about the same goal...so we'll have the same issues I'm sure! If we really put our minds too it and REALLY want to lose weight we can do it! I know that I can and I know that you can too So I wish you ALL the luck and like I said...you need support..you got it
