What Do You Listen To.....

  • Do you listen to music, just watch TV, or nothing...perfect silence.... while working out? Do you have a song that just makes you so pumped up?? If so what is it?

I HAVE to have up beat tunes, or else I won't be motivated... to do anything! Even if I'm doing cleaning around the house...I need tunes!
  • I got an ipod video for my birthday and even though I have a good "sweatmaster 2000" playlist, I dl tv shows for the cardio machines. If I'm watch "Desperate Housewives" or "Lost", I don't have to watch the clock because I know that an episode is approx 45 minutes, which is good time for me.

BTW: iPod Video: One of the greatest inventions. Ever.
  • I am a music fiend as well...the first time I went to a dance club it was a gay dance club in downtown Denver...because of that I am scarred with bad taste j/k But I love a good Gay Dance ANthem. I have a whole mess of them on my computer that I usually put in my mp3 player before a workout. Nike women also has some decent playlists you can download. Each one is 30 minutes long but they are pretty good.
  • When I'm working out on my treadmill for an hour, I make it a point to make sure I hear these songs on my mp3 player:

Notorious B.I.G - Hypnotize (I just imagine Julia Stiles table dancing to it every time in that movie and it pumps me up like no other)
    Natasha Bedingfield - These Words
    Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten
    No Doubt - Hey Baby
    OutKast - Ms. Jackson
OutKast - The Way You Move
OutKast - Hey Ya (The shake it part at the end is great for my workout)
    Pink - Stupid Girls
    Pink - Most Girls
Salt N Peppa - Push It
    Sean Paul - Get Busy
Sean Paul - We Be Burnin'
Sean Paul - Give Me The Light
    Usher - Yeah
    Eminem - Lose Yourself
Justin Timberlake - Like I Love You
Justin Timberlake - Rock Your Body
    Kanye West - Jesus Walks
Linkin Park - In The End
Linkin Park - One Step Closer
Linkin Park - Points Of Authority
Mary J Blige - No More Drama
Mary J Blige - Be Without You

They're not ALL up beat, but they're among the hundreds on my list that I love hearing. I don't know how big you are on most of the genres.
  • i use my XM2go when im outside and listen to whatever i want, when im inside i listen to the recorded music i have on it. Or I will turn the TV on to one of the XM channels and listen to that. I listen to a little bit of everything tho.
  • Well my discman broke ages ago and I haven't given in and bought an mp3 player yet, so when I work out I enjoy the sounds of silence. Well maybe not quite... there are tvs blaring at the gym I go to, and music playing in the weight room. But I kind of zone out, when I'm on the treadmill at least. And when I walk outside I just enjoy my surroundings.

I never thought I could do it without music, but it's actually kind of nice.
  • I always listen to 80's rock when I work out. Yes, it sounds weird, but it's very boosting! Bon Jovi, especially.
  • I love my iPod video! I am a music junkie. I have like 3500 songs, so I have a good mix to workout too. I have a great workout playlist. Here's a sample:

Destiny's Child - Lose My Breath
    Omarion - Touch
    Nelly - E.I.
    Cajmere - Perculator
    Elephant Man - Jook Gal
    Nas - Oochie Wally
    Amerie - 1 Thing
Ying Yang Twins - Salt Shaker
  • i'm all about the 80's music when working out also, or just quiet surrondings if i'm hiking or walking in a nice place
  • I love Coldplay! I listen to them while I workout most of the time. They help me get pumped up for a good run! I saw them live in concert back in February and they were so awesome! I like to workout with the tv on but no sound so I can concentrate on the music. Weird I know...:P
  • I definitely need music to work out, and I go for upbeat, pop stuff - Eminem, Massari, Beyonce, Rihanna, and, yes, even a little Lindsay... not stuff I listen to at any other time, but it makes me wanna move! Right now i'm kinda hooked on The Whisper Song by the Ying Yang Twins - I'm really not sure why, since it's actually pretty gross and way too graphic, but I just can't get enough of it... i think it just kinda makes me laugh to think about what the little old lady on the stationary bike next to me would say if she could hear it! And I always listen to Run Rabbit Run and Collapse by Eminem at the beginning of my run - they sets the perfect pace.
  • I love listening to music when i work out, anything upbeat. I listen to Juvenille,Mariah,Stacie,,Tatyana ali(I love her lol) etc
  • Led Zeppelin boots.
