Exclamation Whinings of a Procrastinator

Good lord - someone please stick me with a needle of incentive!!! I have a final exam tonight in what could quite possibly be the most boring, vague subject I've ever taken (Management Information Systems 2).... I just can't seem to make myself study for it! I know I'm a procrastinator, but it's getting down to the wire! I really don't care about the class, except that if I do well enough I can challenge the CGA exam (I'm going to be an accountant)... and still i can't make myself care! Hmm... it just struck me that browsing through this site is a form of procrastination... !
Just needed to complain about my own ineptitude for a minute - now I'm off to panick about the exam I have in 4 hours which I haven't studied for!

Whenever I feel like that, I just tell myself to suck it up and study. It'll be over soon, then you can relax. If you do bad on something that should have been easy, you'll regret it. Good luck!

When I was in school, I would study while riding the stationary bike in the fitness room (if it just involved reading, it's a bit harder to write while pedaling). That way, I was at least killing two birds with one stone and it helped me to feel more (if only slightly) motivated. Good Luck! I am soooo glad to be done with school.

That's a really good idea, Goodbye Chubby (sorry don't know anybody's "real" names). I think I may do that sometime. I always find the bike to be very boring but its the only equipment I have so I need to use it.

I never took anything as torturous as an accounting exam so I guess I can’t be of much help. I somehow managed to make it through all 4 (and a half) years of college without taking any classes I truly despised. I’m very creative (read: math ******ed) so I got a BA and took Physics for Poets and philosophy classes to satisfy my QR (quantitative reasoning) requirements. I miss school sometimes, but mostly the parties, not the classes as much.

I am currently studying for my CPA exam, I usually haul my review notes and books to the gym, most times I get a good 30 or 40 minutes of studying, but that doesn't cut it. I study 4 days a week 3 hours a day and 2 days a week 1.5 hours a day, as I get closer to the test I am going to have to bump it up.
I graduted in May of 04 and did some half a** studying until last fall when I failed a part of the exam, I learned my lesson about procrastionation then.

I know it may be too late but GOOD LUCK on your exam!

Thanks April Showers! I just got back from the exam, and I think I aced it.... I just know that there will come a time when I can't actually b/s my way through one of these things... luckily I've still got a year until I've got my degree, and then I start taking the CGA challenge exams, so there's still time to pull up my socks yet....thanks for the advice!
