Okay, here is the question: why is the banner ad on the side of the page today for chocolate chex mix??? I thought the banner ads on this site were for healthy things! :lol:

Even though I haven't been posting I've been reading the weekly chat. Hang in there ladies! It sounds like you all had a good V-day. BF took me out to dinner last night (we wanted to avoid the V-day crowds) and it was SO GOOD. We went to a fancy restaurant that has a "bistro" menu on weekdays (basically a 3-course meal for $23, when their entrees alone are usually around $30), which turned out to be perfect because the portion sizes were small. I'm glad to eat less food for my money when it tastes THAT GOOD! OTOH we drank a bunch of wine too, oops.

In other news, I got a job!!! So I'll be moving to Indianapolis in June and starting to work full time. Yay! I can't wait to be done with grad school, I can't even express how much I hate it. I feel like my life is on hold while I'm here, and once I move and start work everything will finally start going again. I've fallen off the wagon a bit but not enough to gain much (other than a few lbs fluctuation). This week I'm starting two new gym classes (yoga and bellydance) so hopefully five workouts a week instead of three will help.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, my new job (well, future job I guess) has an on-site gym! It's tiny (one treadmill, one elliptical, and one bike) but looks really nice, and they have those big ball thingies and weights and everything. No excuse not to exercise there!

AHHH Hi girlies!! I have been MIA for a bit, fell off the wagon, still watching what I am eating, but no excercising... I have misssed the boards! I hae been running :running: away from the fact I NEED TO EXCERCISE!! Anyhow, looks like you guys have keept up the good work!! and thanks trnsfrmnreplace :hug: for keeping up the monthly mins. of excercise for me while I was MIA! Im glad its still going strong!! Hope all is well!!;)

Hey, girls! I'm with you on needing some extra motivation right now... I've taken to eating a LOT of this banana macadamia nut cake that BF's mom made. I just don't do well when there are things that tempting sitting right in front of me. Yesterday was just really out of control. I lost track of how much cake I actually ate. Sugar is my weakness in a serious way! I do OK avoiding it if it's not in the house. Maybe because it's TOM it's making it all that much worse. Anyway, let's get back on track and start eating healthy again! :dust:

There is one positive: I'm still working hard at the gym, so at least I haven't completely slacked off. It used to be that if my eating was bad, I would just give up completely. So, yeah! Something is going right...

Thanks for all the vibes the other day! I think it worked because I stopped munching on the chocolate. Uggghhh I wish TOM would just come and go quickly. I hate TOM

hi ladies

wow - look at all that will power dust!. no stopping us now :carrot:

i have had a rough couple of days. had wednesday off with a headache, went to work on thursday despite feeling like crap still and ended up going home around midday. back on board today (friday) and feeling better. i so need to get to my chiropractor.

anyway, for some reason the last couple of days i too have been gorging myself on stupid foods. i have discovered these little pillows of heaven in ricotta and spinach pastries. i love the combination of flavours and one or two would be ok, but 5 . . . . :o

will be taking the dogs for a walk tonight - the weather has finally picked up. it has either been stinkin' hot or believe it or not, raining which of course makes it all humid and sticky. today should be a beautiful 28 degrees. too nice to be inside at my desk, but hey, someones got to do it :)

better get back to work - will come back later :)

Paperclippy, Congrats on getting your job! Welcome to Indiana! I'm glad you are doing something you want to do. My last semester at college was like that...I HATED IT! I was so ready to get out of there it was sick. My hubby had to talk me into staying more than once.

jdoggmartin, That is SO weird! I've been eating banana cake like crazy this week too. It seems like a funny food for both of us to be eating doesn't it?? Thankfully my kids have helped out and mine is almost gone. We didn't have nuts in our though, but it sounds good.

Not much else to report, thinking about getting a Masters in Social Work but I have to decide if I want to apply this week or not...it's a tough decision *sigh* I'm hoping exercise will relieve some stress so I don't stress eat.

Yeah I am definitely glad we are keeping this up. I just updated today because I had been slacking with recording my minutes. Now I just need to go to presidentschallenge.com and do the same thing.

Oh and I had this buff guy at the gym remark on how much cardio I do and it made me think how I've been neglecting my strength training. I always took pride in being in the weight room doing my curls, etc. Now I've just been doing stuff in the main cardio room with a weighted bar. Next month I'm going back with the big boys!

TGIF!!! SO glad the week is almost over!

Tomorrow I agreed to watch 2 of my cousins (ages 10 and 12) overnight, so I have a feeling that I'm going to end up eating some not-so-good-for-me food, bc heaven knows they won't eat anything healthy! So everyone cross their fingers and hope that everything goes well and I don't kill anyone.

Monday another of my cousins and her kids are coming up from Florida to visit. I haven't seen her in ages, though way back when I was little she lived with us for a few years. So I expect it to be a nice time. Hopefully.

Other than that, life is pretty normal around here and I can't really complain. All the snow we had last weekend is almost completely gone, what with the 55 degree weather and the rain. How can weather keep changing so drastically? It's been 40-50 degrees for months now, then for a few days it drops down to like 10 and we get a snowstorm, now it's back up to the 50s. Just pick a climate, already! grrr!

Anyways, hope all your days go well and your weekends are awesome.

Hey guys I ate a ton of cookies and candy yesterday and was down a pound and a half today. It's the new cookie diet! I could make millions!!!

I just made cookies, actually... I haven't figured out how bad they are calorie-wise yet, I haven't even figured out if they taste good. They were a bit of an experiment. Part of me wants them to be gross so I can give them away to my roommates ;)

Amber: That is crazy that we're gorging on the same thing! I made progress: Yesterday I only had 1/2 piece. Who knows? Maybe we'll have the same luck as Stephanie with the cookie diet. :D

jdoggmartin, I doubt it but hopefully! We only have about 3 pieces left so after today it should be all gone *sigh* Thank heavens! I can't believe it's something that I'd eat so much of! I have fudgies in the freezer and hershey's kisses on the table and I leave those alone but I go crazy over banana cake?? at least I'm getting my fruit for the day! *hehe*

Good luck over the weekend ladies! We're starting the drywall in our basement so I should lose some weight in sweat at least! Only doing the bathroom though so it wont' be too much yet. We start on the rest in a couple of weeks. We just want to get the walls in so my hubby can put the tub and sink in this week. I am re-committed as of yesterday and I've done pretty well so far today with food (my downfall is the diet element) so that's good. Of course the weekends are always my challenge. HOpefully I'll be too busy to think about it at all and just work right through snack time!
