Yayyyy the key to the wheel lock arrived this morning:D. My tires are getting put on as I type this!!! I'll pick up my car later this afternoon. I was so worried earlier this week, but am glad that it's taken care of. Of course the rain has stopped anyways so driving hasn't been that bad.

I can't wait to join the gym tomorrow! I really need to get my butt moving :cb:. The scale is budging ever so slightly, but I know once I hit the gym again I'll be right back on track and in line to make my goal of 5 lbs. this month.

Megan - Looks like you had the best OP day yesterday!!! :carrot: Also, what great willpower you have! Lovin' it!

Jill - Yes keep that dress in mind. It's always good to keep remembering the goal :)

Christina - Let us know if you find any great recipes in those cookbooks! I don't cook, but I can always get my BF to make something for me :)

HI! I'm new! I'm 26, and work in corporate travel *shudder* my goals this year include losing weight, and getting into graduate school. I want to study medieval food, which tends to be healthier than what most people eat today!

trnsfrmnreplace 01-04-2006 05:20 PM

Welcome Arian. :) Nice to have you around.

I'm still on track... and happy. I've been trying to do 300 sit ups a day and BOY MY TUMMY IS SORE! The oly things i'm lacking now is cardio and my water intake. I'm so addicted to drinking tea but i still don't want to count that as water.

I found out that my old gym membership card still works! So hopefull i'll have some time for a 4 mile jog tonight or else i'll never make my 1300 minutes of cardio for the month.

I've read that exercising the same muscles every single day is not nearly as productive as every other day. When you work a muscle, it actually creates little tears in the tissues. When your body repairs these tears, that's how more muscle is built. This is why experts suggest only working each muscle group 3-4 times a week (i.e., upper body m-w-f and lower body t-th-s or a full-body workout only every OTHER day). It takes up to 48 hours for this rebuilding of muscle to occur, which is why you should only work a muscle group every other day. 300 sit ups a day will probably build muscle (how could it not?!), but every other day might actually build it quicker. Just something to consider :^:

Yeah i agree with that.. AS in anything else [leg, arms, back...] i do them every other day, but i've found for myself that if i work my abs everyday, it gets me stronger and defined quicker. But that can just be me. hehehe
I'll switch next week to every other day and see how it works out.

I try to always use my core no matter what exercise i tend to do.

Just to add in, I can't seem to get back on track either!! I'm doing really good with exercise, but food is just crap. I find I'm really hungry earlier in the day, and then by dinner I'm up to 1300 calories! ARGH! I'm getting pretty frustrated, but I'm hoping that once school starts up (Monday) I'll fall back into my old schedule/habits. Right now my BF is staying with me til then and its hard to do really well and be with him b/c he eats more than me and I seem to keep trying to keep up! haha.

Oh well, tomorrow is another day...

Allensmom23 01-04-2006 10:53 PM

I'm having a BAD day! I weighed myself today and I'm up 2.5 lbs! I don't get it b/c I've been really good eating and working out everyday! And drinking lotsa water! I really want to be down atleast 5lbs before the 16th when we go to AZ! This totally sucks!
For supper tonight I had a salad, a few pieces of melon, and a plain hamburger. No bun, no cheese, just the meat. I was eating and my parents house b/c teh hubby's workin late. My mom was like, that doesn't look very tasty. I said I'm eating for taste anymore, just for what I need.

crk05 01-04-2006 10:55 PM

It's almost bedtime but I'm not quite sleepy yet. So I thought I'd stop by.

Mocha ~ I'll let you know if I get inspired by the new cookbooks! I have some ingredients in the apartment so maybe I'll get to try something new for dinner tomorrow!

Arian ~ :welcome2: Good luck with the grad school applications! I'm doing that (except it's law school) this year, and it is strrrrrrrressful!

trnsfrmnreplace ~ 300 sit ups! I admire you! I'm not even sure if I am up to 50 yet!

Andrea ~ Argggh, boys can have that effect on us. My husband has been eating :jeno: and :cookie: in front of me on a fairly regular basis and he is STILL LOSING WEIGHT. How do they do it??

Mel ~ Hmmm, oddly enough that dinner sounds pretty tasty to me!

Good night all!

Hey Megan, We are going to Orlando. I can't wait. I hope the weather is good, but I am sure it will be better than here in Rhode Island.

Well My ankle is still bothering me. I am going to give it another day and then start out by doing some light workouts. Once I get everything back in order, dieting and exercising, I will be all set. It is just getting there that is the problem. It seems like it is just one thing after another, but I guess it is that time of the year. One good thing is that I have not given up. I do want to get back to my weight loss. I just need a good kick in the butt!!!

My next post will not be a downer! I will have some good things to dwell on:cp:

trnsfrmnreplace 01-05-2006 03:45 AM

crk05 - i wish i could do 300 in one sitting. I spread it out into 100's throughout the day. Makes it a little easier.

Allensmom23 01-05-2006 01:13 PM

I jacked my knee last night at it really hurts! I slipped in the garage and twisted it sideways. Also smacked my dace into the side of my van. It's all purple and swollen and it hurts! Ow!!!!!
Tonight is chicken, plain. Mark will probably want something on his, but I'll just have it plain. Yum . . . (sarcasm)

Megan1982 01-05-2006 02:31 PM

Allensmom23, do you put any herbs & spices on your chicken to make it tasty? They can add a lot of flavor without any calories. Sometimes I rub mine with any combination of rosemary, thyme, sage, maybe some fresh chopped garlic...whatever I've got, and a dab (like 1/3 tsp) of olive oil to keep the juice in a bit. Just a suggestion if you're bored w/ plain old chicken. If you keep an eye on the recipes at the WW website they also often have really tasty chicken recipes that are quite healthy - I serve them to BF and he has NO idea it's "diet."

Treadgirl, Orlando is about 7 hours from me. Oh, well. Have fun! I recommend stopping by a roadside stand and getting fresh oranges. Mmm. :beach:

Welcome Arian! :welcome3:

BF and I supposedly are going to play tennis after work for the 4th day in a row, but I think we'll actually do it today - he was really psyched about it at lunchtime. But at least I went to the gym each day he cancelled on me. ;) It's the last nice day here before a cold front moves through tonight so we've got to get out in the sun while we can. It's almost the weekend, I can't wait!

Arian 01-05-2006 02:58 PM

I've been to the gym twice this week, and am aiming for day 3 tomorrow with pilates and some more cardio.

WastedThermos 01-05-2006 03:00 PM

Hello ladiesss....
I'm back after being missing in action for a while. School and work are starting back for me, so having some structure is making life a lot easier (although also a lot more stressful) .. I'm just going to jump right back in.

LockItUp 01-05-2006 03:24 PM

Lizzie!!!! So glad you're back!!!
