Good morning! That's so cute that your little girl is starting to walk! Mine started pushing things walking this weekend, but I'm gonna give her another couple months to start officially walking. Her dad isn't going to recognize her when we go see him next week!

I'm doing well. Does anyone else deal with gaining a like a pound or so and then dropping three the next day? I've been noticing that trend on my weigh loss journey. You know what other obstacle I overcame this weekend? I stopped making a big deal about what size jeans I'm wearing. My pants are fitting better than ever and I think I'm starting to look good instead of sucked into clothes, so I'm just not going to care anymore!

I swear I hadn't looked at this thread when I posted almost the exact same thing on the "spooky October challenge" thread a few minutes ago, lol. Great minds and all that Little kids are so cute...but I'm definitely not ready for any of my own yet. I'm going to let my older, already-engaged sis have them first and be "cool Aunt Megan" for a while.

Aovercast, I can't mentally handle those kinds of ups and downs, so I try and weight myself 1x week and leave it be. I've found those kind of fluctuations are usually due to whether I've had a lot of sodium causing water gain, it's TOM, or if I've, erm, gone to the bathroom recently. But if it's averaging out to an overall loss (and more importantly, like you say, you feel more confident in your body) then who cares, right?

My weekend was actually pretty good, for once. Friday I followed through w/ my plan and went running instead of happy hour w/ BF and his friend, and then was "on the wagon" all night while we made the rounds to a few friends' houses. But after I finished running he was late picking me up, and I ate a lot of snacks...and then I still ate a (light) dinner later with him. I'd made a point to tell him I was trying to be healthy and that's why I wasn't drinking, and didn't want to admit I'd failed. I was a little over my calories for the day...I should have just eaten a healthy dinner instead of snacks, and told him later I'd gotten hungry and eaten already. Lesson learned. We usually eat pretty late together, but I need to be more assertive about letting him know I need to eat earlier, or just eating before I go places w/ him.

But the rest of the weekend was good. Sat. we had a party at his new house and I'd decided that would be my "drinking night" for the week. I ate really well all day, drank my water, and had the calories saved for some drinks made w/ Baja Bob's low-carb mix (~10 cal/serving). Sunday food was ok quality-wise, but very low cal for the day, and BF was being lazy on my couch so I actually left him to go running. That's also a precedent - usually I do my exercise when we're apart or not at all.

Sorry for the novel, but I'm so proud of myself for actually behaving in a reasonable manner and not going nuts over a weekend. And look at my ticker! The weights coming (back) off! I've been walking a little too much instead of running, so I'll work on that this week. How was everyone else's weekend?

Good Morning Ladies!

congrats Megan on following through and working out on Friday night! That's a hard one, most people are getting ready to go out and your hitting the pavement! Awesome accomplisment. Don't be to hard on yourself about extra calories, just think baby steps, first your adding in exercise on the weekends, next you can conquer the calories...I say, Good Job!

I did ok this weekend to, I went to the gym Friday night and Sat morning...Sunday I talked myself out of it, I did pretty good foodwise Friday and Saturday, but Sunday I screwed up...I bought Oreos at the store and ate about five of them...I wish I hadn't bought them. I might just bring them to work and get rid of them....mmhhhh, can I really do that?

Have a great week everyone!

Hey guys! Lets keep this weekly chat blog up this week. I know I don't always write in it, but I ALWAYS check it. It's nice to have a thread with a continuous conversation going for a week where everyone knows what's going on with each other.

About the up and down scale, I usually try and just weight myself once a week (every Wednesday) or else it would drive me crazy. Although last week I actually gained a pound and I though I was being EXTRA good so maybe next week I will lose a big number? I hope I hope...

This weekend I am going to visit my family so hopefully I will be good in the eating department. I talked to my mom and we are going to all of the healthy places (i'm the visitor so they are letting me choose YEAH!) Plus I gotta keep up my exercise.

HAPPY MONDAY!!!! (drink your coffee)

Good Afternoon everyone!

i did pretty bad this weekend, but i did have a good one. It started raining here in southern california on friday night and hasn't stopped since [well little breaks here and there]. It's been SO nice, it really cleared out the air. There is nothing better than doing stretches in crisp air outside. This week is a new week and i guess its gym time today since it's too wet to run outside.

My knee has been feeling a bit better, so i'm good to go now.

good luck everyone!

I think it's my shoes, i also run laps and i was always putting pressure on my left knee while cornering the turns. I think thats what did it last week. I tried to run the opposite way but it just felt weird! I couldn't do it. I felt like i was running backwards! hahaah.

Why did you have surgery?

Your tummy may look like that! Lots of cardio!

I can not tell you how happy this makes me feel. I know I still have a long way to go though to reach my target. Well, I need to maybe actually work today since I will be gone most of next week to visit my husband. I'll try to pop in later.

That's awesome aovercast!!! You don't have that far to go, we can all do this together.

I am down another 1/2 pound this morning. I am hoping for another big week.

Also hoping that I will find a job this week. I have an interview at a car dealership for some position (not salesman), but I don't think that's the kinda job I want. I really want to work at a health food store, I have applied at a couple. Maybe I will hold out.

Morning Ladies,

I have a meeting with my trainer tonight. We are going to retake my measurments, which I haven't done since June! I can't wait to see the results of the tape measurer/ scale. I also like seeing him to! He's a hottie!

Good luck Stephanie on the interview!

I can't leave my workouts till the end of the night anymore, even though that is my favorite time to work out. Something always tends to come up and i don't get my exercise in for the day due to it. I need to start in the mornings from now on.

=sighs=

Hi everyone. Thought I'd drop in and say hello to you all. I am new here and have been wondering around seeing where I might fit in...figure this might be the place. I have really been kicking it up a notch in the exercise department the last few weeks hoping to shed these pounds. I had hit a plateau at 167 for a coupla months almost. Just recently, within the last 2 weeks I started dropping sloooooowly and am at 164 now. I want to really tone up, I'm not positive about my goal weight being precise..but It's what I'm shooting for at the moment. I walk everday with my son and then do my gazelle, crunches, weight training, trampoline, stepper and jumprope at home. I also use my exercise ball and resistance band, just recently started trying to learn pilates and tae-bo. I'm pushing extra hard to get this weight off...Looking foward to a brand new wardrobe early next year. So I think I'm doin ok for now, just want to keep it up. Congrats to all of you on your hardwork and weightloss....we're all soo worth it!

Stephanie- I am also doing the interview/job hunt "thing." Isn't it sooo stressful! After a rejection or stressful interview sometimes I just want to order in mounds of pizza and chinese food but I know that even though I am stressed about the job search pigging out WILL NOT make me feel better, if anything I will only feel worse after.

Spillthebeans- How is your trainer? I eat healthy and do cardio almost every day... the one thing I DON'T do is strength train... I should...

Strength training is soo great. I used to go to the gym and do tons of cardio and then hop on whichever weight machines were free afterwards to "workout". Now that I have a set plan (upper 2x/wk, lower 2x/week, abs 3x/week) and set exercises and reps I see much more consistent results and it is so worth it.

On a separate note I went out to dinner and a movie with friends last night and only ate two slices of my personal pizza (w/jalapenos and tomatoes) plus had a small salad. That was quite the accomplishment for me especially since we were eating the pizza in the movie theater and it smelled so good sitting next to me for two hours as I practiced my restraint!
