As of today...172.6.

NEW GOAL: To weigh 160 by Thanksgiving day. So that means I have 39 days to lose 12.6 lbs. which means I need to lose 0.32 of a lb per day. I think I can do this!

LockItUp 10-16-2005 12:38 PM

Yep, 5.5 weeks left about. I am still sticking to my goal of 159! I think I can do it! 171 today, so that's 12 pounds, at 2 pounds a week that should be just about right (especially since I have lost 3 pounds a week the last 2 weeks), let's see if I can do that again and take the pressure off a little bit!

*Amanda is jealous of Stephanie, now feeling like a wimp for changing her goal* I have to tell you though, Stephanie, you are an awesome motivator for me, as you are always about 1 lb. lighter than me. Every time I catch up and go to update my ticker I notice that you went down another pound as well. You are a constant source of motivation for me, not that I am a competitive person, just kinda fun trying to catch up to you :) The reason I decided to change my goal is that I'm about to start a weight training routine. I'm afraid that when I do that I will not be losing as fast, and will then stop exercising so as to make my goal. I don't know, maybe I'm just a wuss. What do you gals think...should I change it back???

LockItUp 10-16-2005 08:41 PM

LOL Amanda, I noticed that we're always about a pound apart too! You're original goal was really huge wasn't it??? I hope that you didn't take my response as a insult, I sure didn't mean that in anyway, just thought I'd check in! I figured 2 pounds a week from the begining, if I set a goal too high and don't make it I really beat myself up! I am flattered and happy that I am a motivation to anyone!!! :goodvibes I get motivation from a lot of you gals!!! Including you Amanda. P.S. I am assuming that your new avatar is Jobe? He's the most adorable thing ever. He is beautiful!

Awww...thank you stephanie!!! Yep, that's my little man. I finally got around to uploading a picture of him. That picture was taken on July 24th of this year (I take him twice a year, once on his birthday, and once on his half birthday) so he was exactly 5 1/2 in that picture! Anyways, no I didn't take it as an insult...I was just thinking that maybe I was wussing out when I shouldn't have been. But I guess I'll leave that up for discussion...should I keep my old goal?

AquaWarlock 10-16-2005 11:48 PM

Ok, just caught up on the thread...

Amanda: I think your new goal is fine - 20lbs. is an awful lot for 6 weeks, and anything over 2lbs./week is unhealthy and can be downright dangerous (not to mention increasing the possibility of weight rebound 'cause of severe restrictions to make that goal.)

My personal goal: 157 pounds by Thanksgiving-- about a pound a week. After that I'll be happy just to maintain that weight till New Years (what with all the holiday eats and all) after which I'll commit myself to finish shedding the remainder 13 pounds for my final goal by summer! And, of course, working out at least 6 days a week.

spillthebeans 10-17-2005 03:09 PM

Hey Gals, I'm changing my goal to...I'm still hovering around 170. I meet with my trainer tommorrow, so I"ll found out officially how many inches and weight I have lost since JUNE! Whoa...

Anyways, My original goal was 155. I haven't weighed in awhile, but I'm pretty sure I'm still stuck at 170, if this is true. I am just hoping to get to 165 anything less would be great....

So my new goal is 165. That gives me 6 weeks, if I can lose more, then GREAT, but just wanted to re set my goal....

I'm sticking to my goal of 133. That means one more pound to lose. But seriously, I will have to do some hard work if I want to get that pound off by thanksgiving! We will have a string of out of town visitors in the next few weeks, which means food food food. I thought when I set the goal, seven pounds, I will probably be at my goal of 130 by Thanksgiving! Yeah right, it was a good idea to be conservative. These last few pounds are murder! It doesn't help that I keep slacking off at the gym -- no more running until I get some new running shoes, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. :( My knees get sore and I think it's because my shoes are worn out, and other exercise just doesn't cut it in terms of getting a great workout. I can tell I am more out-of-shape now than I was in August.

amandaholly 10-19-2005 10:06 AM

Down to 171.4! 11.4 lbs to go!!!

jdoggmartin 10-19-2005 11:41 AM

Well, so far I haven't had much luck at losing any weight for this challenge! :( But, that's all going to change. I have been traveling, which always throws my eating and exercise off. Then, my car was being repaired for awhile, so I was gymless. And, of course, some of it was just due to my own darn laziness! Anyway, I'm still aiming for a 10-pound loss. I'll just see how close I can get to it. I'm getting serious about this challenge TODAY! Good luck everyone!

spillthebeans 10-19-2005 12:07 PM

Crap, I gained two lbs! I'm going in the wrong direction!

byebigbutt 10-19-2005 03:15 PM

I haven't checked in for a while. I took off the 4 lbs I put on, but I'm flucuating between 209 and 210. Good news though, the weight training has paid off, I'm seeing the beginning of a six pack. I have the indentation down the middle of my stomach and my love handles are disappearing. So I think I've turned alot of fat into muscle. I just need to start burning some of the fat. I'm thinking I'm going to need to push myself alot harder with my cardio.
Anyway, not sure if I'll reach my goal of 20 lbs lost by Thanksgiving. I'm going to weigh in Monday, since TOM is messing with me right now. Then I'll decide whether my goal needs to change or not.

skinnyjeans 10-20-2005 10:42 AM

OK changing my goal too. 165 which is 10 lb exactly.

miss michelle 10-20-2005 01:27 PM

I am also going to unfortunately have to revise my goal. I was doing pretty well with losing on the track I needed to get to my goal weight but I haven't been doing it very healthily. It has been more of a starve myself during the week and go crazy on the weekends kind of thing, which has left me not feeling the best. My goal is going to be 145 (5 pounds less from now) which I think is a reasonable goal of a little over a pound a week. That means that my original Thanksgiving goal is going to be moved to Christmas, which will still make me happy come holiday time!

TamLynne 10-20-2005 07:26 PM

Hey girls! I would like to join in! I'm setting a goal of 10 lbs lost by Thanksgiving. I don't want to push myself to bad so I think 10 lbs will be great!
