I think that a clothing measure is great too. I know that everyone's going to be different. It's hard to not focus on the just the weight on the scale as a measure of success, but I think it's kind of silly to do away with it completely, I mean, we are LOSING WEIGHT, aren't we? I think you girls that go that long without weighing are amazing - I could never do that. Therefore, I probably don't really understand the reasoning behind it. But if that's what makes you work your hardest and feel your best, then that's what you should do. I am more likely to cheat myself with sizes than I am with the scale - the scale is a cold, hard fact to me. However, I can ZIP UP a pair of size 8 jeans. Does that mean I am a size 8? Uh, no. And I always find sizes to be so different everywhere, it'd drive me nuts. I mean, I'm currently somewhere between a 10 and a 12, and I've got everything from 8-14 and S-XL in my closet, the vast majority of which I wear regularly. LOL! I can just see it now, instead of scale up-and-downs and the feelings that come with that, I'd be sad everyday I had to wear a 14 and on cloud 9 everytime I got to wear the 8!
I know that I have a tendency to hyper-focus when I'm in the "zone." This can be good, it can be bad. It's hard to see weight loss as something that's forever, something that is going to make you look and feel better and be healthier for the rest of your life (not to mention the life-long commitment to keeping it off). For me, it's also about being in control. For the most part, if I feel like I'm in control of what I'm eating, then I'm fine, even if I'm gaining weight. Because what I really need from all of this is control.
Wow, long post. This is actually a really interesting thread. Thanks for starting it skinnyjeans!

. I guess that only works though if you are losing...if I had gained I probably would have gone crazy.
