Default what's the deal?!?!?

Ok, so I am I the only one out there that is having troubles with keeping both aspects of this weight loss thing in line? It seems that if I am having a great week excercise wise, my eating turns to crap because I get hungerier. While if I manage to eat well, the excercise portion is less than desirable. What gives? What are some of your tips, tools, or tricks that are helping...please say that I am not alone in this!

hey Jamie, I only seem to have troubles with the food part on the weekends. I think that because I go to the gym at 6 am 7 days a week, it has just become part of my day. But because it is so much easier to plan out my meals for the day at work, by the time the weekend rolls around it is just too chaotic to keep a schedule for those two days. It sucks!!

I hear ya! Today I feel like I could eat the whole fridge sometimes I noticed that when I exercise I tend to feel more active so, I put off eating until the last minute and then I end up grabing whatever's available...which junk is easiest. Also I think I'm going to starve if I don't have a huge protion of something...today I decided to have a banana and a glass of milk. It actually filled me up, on any other day I would have had much more food, but I stopped and thought about it today.

I know the feeling! One thing that helps me is to eat something with protein in it within a half hour after exercising. If I do that, I don't get as hungry for the rest of the day, but if I don't, I'm starving all day!

My problem seems to be that I totally keep it together Monday - Friday, but as soon as the weekend hits it's all bad! I don't exercise on the weekend (though I try to do some activity that usually involves walking a lot), and all my "cheat" meals are on the weekends. At least it gives me a lot of motivation to do well during the week!

I've been thinking about this on and off today, and sometimes its more of a self-sabotage deal I think. Not quite sure why though, because trust me I want to be thin, healthy, off my blood pressure med,and have more energy etc. Anybody else catch themselves self-sabotaging?

I think I self sabatoge too. It makes me so mad some times, I'm thinking, I know I shouldn't be doing this, yet I still do it. It is becoming fewer and farther between but I feel like at an moment I will lose contol.
I have tried so many times to lose weight and ulitmatley go back to my old habits, that is why I some times lack the confidence that I can see this through and maintian for the rest of my life. But I know I want to and I need to. I guess I kind of punish my self by letting my self mess up and over eat.

I definitely have the problem of getting more hungry on the days I work out. To a certain extent you need more calories when you work out anyway. For me though I probably only need an extra 200-300 cals and want to eat about and extra 800!

Definitely the only way to beat the problem is have a plan. Planning on self-control to not eat is no good. Been there tried that!

A couple suggestions are to pack/plan food for later in the day ahead of time, something filling and low cal that you can eat a "large" portion of (i.e. enough to fill you). Something with protein and carbs is usually a good mix. Also, a lot of girls here also vary their cal intake by day to day (1300 on a no excercise day, 1800 on an excercise day). Or you could just try a higher daily cal intake average (1500 every day).

In the long run keep up the excercise on a regular basis. The muscles you build will help burn calories and may help counteract the occasional food slip. It may cause you to lose the weight more slowly, especially at first. But in the long run it will be a more steady weight loss and easier to maintain.

I definately self sabatoge. There have been many times that I am doing awesome....and about two weeks in, I give it up. I think I'm scared to be thin, even though I want to be so bad. It's something that I am going to have to think long and hard about.
