Hi, I'm new!

  • Hello! My name is Rebecca and I just re-joined the boards today. I am wanting to lose about 70lbs long term, but right now my main focus is 15lbs before going to Las Vegas.

I am 24 y/o I live in Oklahoma with my 17 month old daughter Allison, and my dh Scott.

I can't wait to chat with everyone, and get good tips and support.
  • Welcome! What type of exercise and diet are you doing? How long till your trip to Las Vegas?
  • Hi Rebecca and welcome!
  • Well, right now I am changing my eating habits, I am an awful eater. No more junk food, sweets, up my water intake eat all my veggies and fruits. I am going to start walking tomorrow, and then I have the Yourself Fitness game for the XBox, so I will probably start that tonight. If anyone has any suggestions I will gladly take them!
  • Hi,

Welcome back to the boards! It sounds like your plan is great. Just make sure you watch your portion sizes on all foods because it all adds up. Water is essential but you know that. Good luck on the exercise tonight. Let us know how it goes. 15 pounds in 6 weeks is doable for some (not me of course...if I get a pound a week off I'm happy). How often do you plan on exercising?

  • Hi and welcome Rebecca
  • Hi my name is Vikki, I am from the Chicago Ridge area in Illinois, my current weight is 257. My goal weight is 160. As you can see I have a long way to go. My biggest Challenge is after work. I do good all day but the minute that I get home I am famished. If any one have any ideas on anything that could keep me on track I would greatly appreciate the help
  • Hi Vikki,

Welcome to the boards! Do you eat a big enough lunch?? Maybe have a snack in the afternoon of popcorn or a piece of whole wheat toast with peanut butter or some fruit to fill you up?? Are you truly hungry or are you just bored or in a routine??

  • Welcome! Let me know how that Yourself Fitness thing is because it looked really cool and I was trying to convince my boyfriend to buy it for me but since I have about a dozen exercise DVDs as it is, he's a little reluctant. Best of luck to you!
