Smile New here...shouting out a big HELLO!

Hi Everyone...

I'm new to all this...and I'm so glad to have found a place like this for us to connect with other people with the same concerns and goals.

As for me...I decided a few days ago that I wanted to change my life and I've decided to start on the journey to lose 80 pounds - which I've attempted before, but by all the wrong methods. This time around, I'm on the Common Sense Diet. Low calorie, exercise, moderation, etc etc. You know, all the stuff we generally hate, but we know thats what it takes.

Looking forward to meeting everyone and starting friendships with everyone out there in the same shoes!

Hello!

I am new too, so welcome to us and well done you for deciding to take control of your health. I am sorta doing WW, sorta doing the common sense thing too. Good luck!

The common sense diet is fairly uncommon but it can work every time!

WELCOME!

I'm hoping to get a chance to meet and talk to most of you and see what works for you (and what doesnt).

I've been at this for about a week now and so far, so good. I don't have a scale in my house - by choice - I'm just going by how I feel and how my clothes are fitting. I always hated to get tied up in the "numbers" of it all.

Anyway, thanks for the welcome wishes, everyone...best of luck to you all - and myself! (I'd say I'll need it in a week or two!)

The ol' common sense diet isn't so bad, especially when you compare it to all those nutty fad diets out there.

I'm looking to lose around the same amount of weight, and I know how daunting it can be. It helps me to break it down into 10% goals, or goals for every few months or so. If you're not going to weigh (and it can be a great idea not to for some people... myself not included becuase I find it's one of the only things that keeps me accountable) you should try measuring every week or two. That way you'll get tangible results that will keep you motivated.

A lot of this is trial and error, which can be so frustrating, but oh-so-rewarding as well! Vent here anytime, it really helps! Good luck!
