Default People at grocery stores must hate me.

I did something funny I thought I would share.... Last night my bf and I were running around Kroger trying to find some stuff for this craft I am doing at my job. Long story short, they didn't have what I needed... But they had fresh baguettes and a sale on pop chips. At some point I set the chips down and was like, I don't need these right now. I still couldn't find the little cups I needed for the craft, so decided to give up. The line was long, and so was the baguette. I remember thinking, "if this thing is in my house, I am going to eat it. I wonder how many WW points is in a whole baguette."

ANYWAYS. I just dropped the baguette off while waiting in line, and walked out. Didn't buy one thing. Made a mess while doing it. I guess supermarket lines are good for something: Decision making.

Ha, I do this SO much, but I normally decide before I reach the checkout line, and my obsessively "polite" upbringing means I need to put the item back where it goes so I don't trouble anyone else.

My fiance has gotten used to it apparently - I grabbed a bag of discounted mini candy canes last week, and at one point I picked them up just to move them to another part of the cart, and he said "I can go put them back if you need me to." LOL.

Good for you, your health is much more important than being polite!

I mostly stick to my grocery lists, but on occasion I will pick something up that catches my eye and a lot of the time I decide against it. I HAVE to put it back where I got it, even if that means getting out of the checkout line or going all the way across the store again.

I worked in a grocery store during HS and the summer that followed... 3 years of putting other peoples crap back makes me unable to leave things in the wrong place!

I worked in retail for a long time, so I have to put stuff back. It will haunt me if I don't. lol I catch myself zoning (refolding shirts, pulling cans front, putting something in its correct spot, etc.) without thinking. It is ingrained now.

you could always consider the extra steps to put things back in the right place just a bit more exercise

I do the whole do I really need this? thing. Just yesterday at Costco I abandoned some veggie chips. Most times I put them bacj where they belong, but having seen a short line I chose not waiting versus putting them back. I guess we r keeping the employees busy, just don't leave perishables out and it's all good

^That. I got a fitbit for Christmas and lately I've been obsessed with steps (and like so many other people, I've worked enough retail that I end up putting other people's stuff back in the right place when I find it sitting in an odd spot).
