Happy Monday, ladies. God I hate Mondays. How does the weekend go by SO quick?!
lisa34t - I do bulk cooking for my breakfasts. I make burritos and freeze them and grab one in the morning. Best thing EVER and makes breakfast SO easy. Congrats on 210! beahawkins - I'd give him one more date, but if I wasn't feeling it I'd be done and move on. I hate wasting my time. I'm pretty crude though and sex is pretty important to me, so if there was no chemistry it'd be game over. Or establish that you only view him as a friend so you can still hang out, but date others. And I'm a grammar n@zi too, (why was the censored? lol) so that'd be an immediate deal breaker. jmko Oh wow - you must be a very busy bee, but that sounds fun. I'm very organized, so I could see myself enjoying that. Hope you had safe travels! Quiet Ballerina - God I hate car problems. I had to take my car in TWO HUNDRED miles and THREE WEEKS AFTER the warranty expired. I was INFURIATED. I nearly lost my mind. lol. I did not have coupons and when DH is present I can't spit as much game and have prices reduced. lol. What kind of shoes? Pics? I <3 shoes. pinksparkles WOOHOO! Congrats on your run! It's such a good feeling when you're done. Atarimae - That's awesome that you've got some support. It makes it SO much easier. ------- Well, it's Monday and Tom has left, so I'm back to my Dirty South Hip Hop station where I'm currently listing to David Banner's song Play while I sip my coffee. My body always goes crazy after I do extreme things (ie. triathlons and the bike ride where I burned 3000 calories and I gain weight. I was at 224 this morning. I'm okay with it. It'll come off quickly. The bike race - oh the bike race. Alright, here goes nothing... REWIND: so, I had been stressing about this BBC Ride because initially my husband (Kevin) had talked me into doing the 33 miler - without me having ever ridden 33 miles. We went out to a pretty flat course and did 32 miles a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, I was hung over and it wasn't a good test of endurance. Like I said then, with 5 miles left I was not in a good place and my vag was killing me. BBC Ride: Let me start by saying that BBC means Beautiful Backroads Century. Backroads mean hills, they don't mean sh*t else. Now that we've gotten that out of the way...We get up at 5am to be at the ride by 6:30am. Registration/check-in is 1/4 mile from where you park. Wtf? I may do these races/rides/tris/sh*t, but I HATE walking a long way from my car to my destination. Anyhow, so we walk the 1/4 mile in the dark, check in, then have to walk 1/4 mile back to the car to unrack our bikes and then go 1/4 mile BACK to registration for the start. Kevin's Uncle is a cyclist, too and he did the ride, so he met us up there. Well, Kevin goes to look for his uncle so I hold both of our bikes and there's a group of cyclists standing next to us and they say to me, "You holding everyone's bike?" in that we know your big @ss isn't riding a bike that nice way which only infuriates me, so I respond with, "Yeah, this is definitely my bike and I'm holding my husbands." So, Kevin gets back and takes his bike and they say to him, "Aren't you going to pay her for holding your bike?" and Kevin is like, "What?" and the guy says, "Aren't you going to pay her for her services?" ....no clue why, but his response got me so hot and bothered. He says, is that very Alpha male, serious way, "Yes, she's my wife and I take care of her in every way possible. I don't need to pay her." BOOM. Made my panties twitch. And shut that guy up. This is a ride, not a race. There's no "GO!" or "START!" there's just random people leaving whenever they want with no official time and no bibs. It was all very overwhelming for me, especially since there were over 1800 cyclists. Well, we set off to do the 15 miler, but...I'm writing the rest in my blog...this is already long... |
Another week, another Monday. Can you believe that it’s September 17th already? It’s blowing my mind.
@SoMuch: What a weird interaction at the race. Glad you and your hubby put that jerk in his place! Also, your blog--it’s awesome! It's so much fun to read and full of so much fattitude just like your namesake suggests. It’s honest, refreshing, hilarious, and real. Keep up the good work! @bea: I’d agree with the one more date suggestion. Life’s too short to be wasting time trying to make something work that isn’t meant too. So many fish, lady! @lisa: How did the cooking go this weekend? Your menu looked awesome. @Quiet Ballerina: Glad the car bill was less than expected! --- Life’s pretty good over here. Still trying to enjoy the end of the school year and keeping my head in the teaching game while also trying not to get stressed out about making my move to the city and figuring out logicstics. I weighed myself this weekend, which I hadn’t done in about a month. I was 145, 2 lbs lower than I was last time I checked in with the dreaded musical scale. I had expected the number to be a little bit lower, but I’m also taking into account when I weighed in I was wearing jeans, it was the middle of the day, AND on top of that I had gone out for buffet followed by some good old fashioned whiskey drinking the night before. There's gotta be a few pounds of fake weight in those excuses somewhere, right?! haha! A loss is a loss, but it was also a wake up call that it might be time to recommit a little. I’ve been doing a good job at eating maintenance, but those pesky last 10-20 lbs aren’t going to lose themselves!!! |
oK, had alot going on this AM and didnt eat well. SO i must do turbo fire, today. Bought a heart rate monitor watch this weekend. Not sure about it yet. Lil one made it hard to work out this weekend, but I squeezed a small work out in. I was happy, about 210, but could have been better considering I didnt work out any and I was 213, last sunday, I hit 211 tuesday or wednesday and only lost one more pound .
oK, had a lot going on this AM and didn’t eat well. SO I must do turbo fire, today. Bought a heart rate monitor watch this weekend. Not sure about it yet. I was happy, about 210, but could have been better considering I didn’t work out any and I was 213, last Sunday, I hit 211 Tuesday or Wednesday and only lost one more pound. graciegoose13- Great, cooked up most of those veggies. Froze me about 2 servings of Turkey meat balls and spaghetti. Nothing wrong with recommitment! But congrats on the two! Somuch- share your recipe and freezing method please. I get tired of oatmeal and boiled eggs for breakfast and thanks. HAHAHAH the end of your post cracked me up. GO KEVIN, keep them in line! Quiet- glad your bill allowed you to save a few dollars. pink- Is the cake still in the fridge? Atarimae- I cook enough for the week, some I froze on Sunday because I don’t plan to eat them till the end of the week. I agree, family support is very important. |
I've been thinking about getting a heart monitor watch, lisa. Please let me know what you think of it!
(and yes, the cake is still in the fridge. Well, 0.75 of the 2 giant slices we were given. It's probably gone stale now, so I don't even want it anymore :D Glad to say I resisted!) --- TOM week this week and I developed a cold this weekend, so I'm not feeling too hot. Still went to the gym, though- did a heavy lifting workout and surprised myself by how strong I was, then 25 minutes on the random setting on the bike. I got some stares for bringing lysol wipes with me, but at least I'm not getting other people sick :) Happy Monday everyone! |
Fattitude: I'm glad I'm not the only one who needs a little chemistry. I think I have a problem because I am SO used to being physical and using it as a way to see if the "spark" is there. I don't tend to touch people on a regular basis so when I do, it's special  . We've hung out 4 times and he's yet to try to hold my hand. Though he talks about how much he likes cuddling and junk. So, I straight out was like hey, what's up? And he said he just didn't want to overstep my boundaries and as sweet as that is, assertiveness is my favorite quality in a man. Sex is a big thing in any relationship whether or not you're having it. And I'm not saying that I need to jump his bones to know if I'm into him, but every time he accidentally touches my leg, he apologizes, there has to be a middle ground! Your husband sounds like a awesome husband. : )
Lisa: apparently my father bulk makes his breakfasts. I saw what I thought were left over eggs and made a breakfast burrito this morning. (with that greensauce from tacobell OH MY GOD) So, now he bulk cooks both of our breakfasts. : ) Much better than a granola bar. Lots more protein!! What is a heart rate moniter watch supposed to tell you? Graciegoos: Musical scale?!! PinkSparkles: I've brought wipes with me before. Especially after watching people not wipe down the seats after they use them. ehhhhhhh... I have carried the bottle of lysol around with me before too. lol. They'll give you some crazy looks. Hope you feel better soon!! If needed go to the dr. before it gets too bad! And I too am hanging out with TOM this week. : / ---------------------- I skipped 2 of my classes today to spend time reviewing math prereqs. I don't understand how I qualified for this class. Uh! And i've been at it most of the day since noon. : ( And for the last week I have had trouble remembering my night time meds. And they are critical, they give me the energy to wake up and actually do things the next day. Day 3 of real TOM, I thought I had it a week and a half ago, guess that was just spotting??? : ( this BC thing is going to be something to get used to. I hope it passes before Wednesday. I have my monthly dr. appointment on Thursday and I really want to impress her! Well, I've got to go work on some more homework. and go hopefully sleep here soon! Have a good night everybody! : ) |
I'm honest to God just too lazy to do personals right now. I guess that's what happens when I don't keep up with the chat. I'm sorry, but I read everything!
So the wedding went really well. One of the smoothest ones I've done and the couple was probably one of the most thankful couples ever. I cut her a major deal and charge her about a fourth of what I normally do, but her gratitude made it more than worth it. The only problem was that quite a few people ended up getting SO drunk. One of the groomsmen was drunk before the reception started, but at least handled himself okay. The groom's boss drank so much that he ended up throwing up at his table. Ugh. Not a pretty site. There were a bunch of them drinking like it was a nightclub. I mean, seriously? It's a wedding. Show a little respect. The trip to Maui didn't happen. My co-worker I think ended up being too lazy and didn't want to go so we postponed, which gave me yesterday to rest. Thank goodness. I definitely needed it since I didn't get home until after midnight from the wedding (was up since about 7am working). Then the BF made me watch "The Walking Dead" last night, which totally freaked me out and I couldn't sleep. Ugh. I'm such a wuss when it comes to that kind of stuff. I'm still curious, but not brave enough to watch it. Maybe I'll just look up what happens online. Anyway, here's to a great week! |
Argh, it's about bedtime here, but I had some weigh-in advice! :?:
I guess the whole weighing in daily thing is kind of getting to me, because I finish dinner late (from 9pm to as late as 11pm some days) due to work and school...and my bowling league. It's always been instilled in me that eating late causes gain! However, I have an issue about how I tend to fall off plan if I don't weigh in ENOUGH. With that said, what would you guys suggest? It's midnight and I need to get up early...so no individual responses tonight. I promise to read to see how everyone's doing though! |
Good Morning. Nothing ruins your Friday like realizing it's only Tuesday.
graciegoose13 - Glad you enjoy. :) I've been contemplating moving it of off 3fatchicks and opening a domain. We'll see! I'm a whiskey girl myself. What kind do you like? lisa34t - It's super simple... 20 ounces ground turkey, 1 cup mushrooms, 1 cup tri pepper mix, red pepper flakes - cook them all together; when cooked add 1 carton of southwestern eggbeaters and cook through. Shred 1 block 50% reduced fat jalapeno cheddar cheese (cabot) and evenly distribute between 10 12" flour tortillas. Distribute turkey/egg mixture between ten tortillas. Roll each tortilla into a burrito and wrap in foil. Freeze and when reheating nuke for 2:30'ish. 1 Burrito = 338 calories, 9.2 g fat, 52mg cholest, 747g sodium, 34.9g carbs, 6.3g fiber, 0.5 sugars, and 27g protein. I eat one a morning and it keeps me full. Add or subtract the red pepper based on the spice you like - same with the cheese. They have a nice kick to them. I've made them with Jenny-0 Spicy Turkey Sausage but they have like double the sodium. I hate the wheat sh*t so I use flour tortillas, big ol' 10 inch 180 calorie'ish tortillas. I can't choke down the texture of the wheat ones and since you dont like wheat pasta I imagine you're probably the same way on this. LOL. Next week I'm going to toy around with spinach, sun dried tomato and feta. I'm a foodie and I refuse to sacrifice taste. pinksparkles - I have the Garmin FR70. There are definitely pros and cons to mine. Pros: keeps calories, you can add gadgets to track your cadence on your bike, track your distance in your run, accurate, you can upload everything online and track it, too. You can set intervals and program work outs. Cons: says it works in the water - it does not. The water doesn't hurt it, but it doesn't track calories during or after water workouts. It doesn't come with the bike cadence/run distance included. Overall: I'm not sure what features you're looking for, but if it's a basic heart rate monitor that will track your time, calories and let you log/track it all - this is fantastic. Hope this helps some! beahawkins - A little chemistry? You're better than me, if I wasn't feeling it on date 2 I'd be done with it. I'm also not into p*ssies and I'm attracted to Alpha men that stand up to me and will check me. Yeah, my husband is pretty good catch. jmko - Oh drunken weddings. My brother (and husband's best man) was pretty hammered - no puking on tables but he gave the longest speech that was borderline inappropriate. LOL! Luckily we're all very close and I can laugh it off. It's actually a running joke now whenever my brother goes to give a speech anywhere. I dont' do scary. Period. End of story. Atarimae - I was weighing weekly, but moved to daily just to see how my body changes on the daily basis and learn my ins and outs on a daily basis. Just choose the same time, every day to weigh in - so it stays accurate. --- I have somehow managed to increase the font size of this whole d@mn site and it's infuriating me. Edit to add: FIXED IT! BOOM! Also, I am positive people are stealing candy from my candy jar... Yes, I have a candy jar on my desk that have the minis. Sweets aren't a trigger for me and I can easily say no. Maybe once or twice a month I want something sweet (dark chocolate) and I have it then. Regardless, my candy jar has definitely been tampered with. I have put a piece of tape over the jar to further investigate. My get up and go has gotten up and gone. I have lost my training mojo - which is terrible considering I have my last tri of the season in two weeks. Kevin says we're going to spin tonight. I'm also feeling a bit under the weather - as in stuffy/headache-y, which may be contributing to this. We're going to the beach this weekend (leave Thursday night) and come home on Sunday, but I do plan on doing some open water swims. But for now? I'd like a nap, please. |
Its my BIRTHDAY:carrot::carrot:, So proud of myself , I got up this morning and did a HITT workout, burned 495 calories. WHOOOO HOOOO. I skipped breakfast this morning because I’m going to Wingstop tonight, yes I am! It’s my birthday and I want some wings! I’m will try to do Fire 45 tonight. I bought the stroller and still haven’t used it, due to the rain!
Somuch- This recipe sounds YUMMY and easy. I like wheat tortillas; it was just something about those noodles. I’m actually a big wheat fan. So I will use wheat to cut the cal down some, I’m not a big breakfast eater so I try to limit breakfast to 300 cal. I hope you feel better Atarimae- I weigh a lot, although I don’t call them all WI's. I only WI on Sunday, which is the weight I record. I weigh during the week just to see where I’m at. beahawkins- I normally eat at work for breakfast, and its usually microwaved, but with a 6 month old, it’s so hard to fix dinner in the evening. So I found bulk cooking my vegetables saves a lot of time. I just throw my meat on my George foreman and zap my veggies, BAM dinner is served! But I’m looking forward to trying SoMuchFattitude's burrito! pinksparkles- I love it! I love know a accurate calorie burned number it motivates me! |
Is anyone else getting annoyed by the Wal-Mart ad that keeps popping up on this site? I know 3 chicks are getting paid well for the space but DAMN. it's annoying.
|
SoMuch ~ Hope you catch that candy thief. It's awesome that you have the jar there and that you're usually able to avoid it.
Happy birthday lisa! I hope you enjoy yourself! :) aka ~ I haven't noticed any ads, but I did install ad block. (Which if it isn't allowed, please lmk!) Gah weighed in this morning, and I'm up 0.4 lb. This is like the 3rd or 4th morning in a row that I'm up. It's frustrating that I don't have a food scale either - I can't tell if I'm over or underestimating! I probably would get in trouble for buying one too. Ah well... Hope everyone has a great day. |
Fattitude: I told my dad about how you make your burritos and freeze them. Instead of just making the eggs before hand. So, he's gonna do it and make some for me. I will no longer worry about portion control. The joys of living at home.
So, apparently telling him to man up last night has helped. He's been hinting at it more. So we shall see! I am actually pretty excited now. Making me feel a little slutty but I am so ok with that. ha! Lisa: Happy Birthday!! Hope it was great! Atarimarie: I've been feeling the same way. : ( ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have been feeling like crap the last few days. I realized it was because I have been lousy at taking my meds. Drinking a tiny tiny tiny portion of the necessary water. I hadn't showered since Sunday, though I hadn't done anything either ( it's still super gross. but I was strung out on a homework binge erg) Sitting on my a$s doing homework for 2 days straight plus most of the weekend. And I hadn't been to the gym since Sunday afternoon. So! I got off my lazy bum, put away my godawful algebra and worked out. Now, at 11:48 I have the energy I have been looking for. I NEED to go to sleep because tomorrow is my dreaded Wednesday. I swear I am still drained from last Wednesday. Night all! You guys make this so much easier. |
atarimae: is there anyway you can pack something light (maybe like half a sandwich) and eat in class or during bowling? eating late isn't the best thing, but it's better than not eating at all. but if you do eat late it should be something light or healthy. which sucks because our late night options are like Zippy's, Anna Millers, McDonalds, all that bad stuff. I used to weigh everyday but like you, would get crazy frustrated with the fluctuation. I had to make myself do it only once a week. I've also seen food scales at Ross. I think I need to get one, too.
SoMuch: Aren't people so rude sometimes? I used to have a bag of M&M's on my desk. I came in one morning and the M&M's were gone but there was a post-it in its place saying, "Mahalo for the M&M's." To this day I still don't know who ate it. I even tried to match handwriting. No dice. Hope you figure out who's eating your candy. Lock it in your drawer. lisa: Happy Birthday!!! aka: The ad on my page says "How can I lose weight by doing yoga?" bea: You need to drink water! At least half your body weight in ounces. I know it seems like a lot, but it's the best thing for you. If there's one thing you do to lose weight, it's drink water. Hope your wednesday flies by and you feel better. So I spent my day bagging Jordan Almonds. Yes, jordan almonds. 600 pouches, 5 almonds in each pouch. It took all day. As a wedding planner, I don't normally do crap like that, but this was for my full time job. One of our events is a theme party called "Wedding Crashers" so these stupid jordan almonds are the "tacky wedding favors." How I got stuck doing this, I'll never know. It's not even my account. Ugh. And tomorrow I get to tie stupid tags on all of them. Who even buys Jordan Almonds anymore? In other news, the BF was sweet and bought me a cinnamon (middle portions only!) and it's sitting on the counter calling me. I want to eat it. And at the same time I don't. I think the only reason I want to eat it is because I know I can't have it in about a week. Boo. Hopefully my willpower will win over. Either that or I'm hoping I just fall asleep soon and forget about it! Luau tomorrow night for work. I've actually never been to one, so it should be an experience. |

lisa34t :balloons: Happy Belated Birthday!!! :balloons: There's something gritty/sandy in the texture of wheat tortillas to me. So hard to get them down. Haha! Hope you like the burritos! Let me know!
Atarimae - I love my food scale. You can get them for pretty cheap, too. I think I paid $10 for mine. Definitely worth it to me! beahawkins - That's awesome! I live off of these things. I was spending like $3/morning at work buying hard boiled eggs and chicken sausage, so I came up with that recipe. (sometimes being a foodie is a good thing. lol) Let me know how you like them! Release your inner slut! (At least I do.) Have fun! Be safe, but have fun. DH was up late working on a project, came to bed at 3am and woke me up for a little middle of the night nookie - h*ll yes. Please and thank you. I love my inner slut. jmko - I actually taped the lid shut and marked it so I'd know. No thievery last night; however, I did have 2 mini heath bars in it last week and now I have one. Ridiculous. This might be in retaliation of me cleaning the refrigerator out last week, taking a picture of a rotten banana I found inside of it and then making a sign and placing it on the front of the fridge... I attached a picture. I'm a clean freak... I was losing my mind. lol. I'm one of the weird few people that like jordan almonds. LOL --- Happy Hump Day! Tomorrow is like my Friday since I leave for the beach tomorrow night! WOOHOO! The scale was a bit kinder this morning, despite having Mexican and drinking two margaritas last night. We won a pitcher of free margaritas and who turns down free liquor? Not this girl! |
Somuch http://dsp.imageg.net/graphics/produ...03862p275w.jpg Shoes!
Oh.my.gosh. That was a banana? That is so gross! Man, almost makes my roommate look clean (almost). I'll have to read your blog when I have a longer attention span. I feel like personals are going to suck most of mine up.... :) lisa How did turbofire go? Happy belated birthday!!! pinksparkles great job! You definitely don't want the stale cake. Why waste calories on something that tastes mediocre? beahawkins I hear you on assertive men! That's a big issue with the guys I've met lately. They expect me to do all the work. I try and explain to them how sexy it is when a man makes decisions but....guess it falls on deaf ears. jmko first, that wedding stuff sounds insane. People puking at tables?? Second, omg I love love love the walking dead!! :) I'm so excited for the new season! atarimae Is there a middle ground? Once a week weigh-in? Every 2-3 days? Grr...this week sucks. My back was hurting early in the week, and I am sick as a dog. Also, my current spot on the couch is being ruined because the sun is coming in through the skylight directly into my eyes. Sick-wise I am absolutely miserable. stuffy with sniffles and just blah. Slightly fever-ish too. And my shoes? My stupid awesome new shoes? They got here yesterday. The guy at the store ordered me the wrong size!! I needed a 7.5 wide (toe box is a little snug) and he got distracted and ordered me the 7.5. ARGH! So now I have to deal with the return process and wait another week at least before I'll have my shoes. I could cry a little. In better news: I took one of my finals last night. Did AWESOME. Have one more tonight, and a few speed typing tests to take. Well, as many as I need to until I get accuracy I need to pass, which is 98%. |
