Default Trading fat for muscle at this weight?

Ive been doing p90x for almost a month now(this is my 4th week) and the scale is not moving. I don't really care too awful much what the scale says but in a way it kind of is driving me nuts. I feel like Ive been stuck between 260 and 270 FOREVER.

My measurements have slightly gone down, and Ive noticed muscle tone coming in on my arms and legs. Im pretty sure that my weight is just redistributing itself. But has anyone else had this issue at such a high weight where the scale seemed to stall because they were trading fat for muscle? I didn't think that type of thing happened til you got to the 100s.

I suppose the fact that its been in the 90s-100s degree here for the past 3 weeks isn't really helping with water retention either. I sat down this morning and reworked my calorie plan to be around 1500 a day before I go to the grocery tomorrow, just to keep myself in check.

Im happy that Im starting to build muscle up but at the same time I just really wish it would hurry up and finish adjusting so I can start seeing the scale drop again. Maybe the heat finally got to me and is going to my head

Did you take measurements like they tell you to at the beginning of P90X? If you have been doing it for 4 weeks than you are pretty close to your 30 day measurements. Take them again. See if you are losing inches, which would indicate you are losing fat as a lb of muscle takes up much less space than a lb of fat. I've done P90X and it would be hard to do it, really do it, and not lose fat mass. Are you following the meal plan that came with P90X or do you have a customized meal plan, because 90% of the results those people get from the program is from the kitchen, not just the exercise routines. Good luck. I'll be interested to hear how the measurements come out.

Can you really do P90X on 1500 calories a day?

@redmom My measurements have gone down slightly

@angie 1500 calories a day after you subtract what you burn from the workout when you use a HRM. Still, I never eat over 2000.

I'm doing power 90 by Tony and I find I'm having the same problems, I find I'm not losing what I would expect for the work I'm putting in and my reduction in calories. However I see a huge difference in my muscle mass and definition, bare in mind I'm a guy so I assume I would pack it on quicker especially on a protein diet, I would say don't feel discouraged by it and keep going.
