I feel so bad that I havent posted in like a week! I am so sorry all!
I have been crazy busy with midterms and all that... I did alot of meetings and some presentations and small papers last week, and now this weekend I am slammed because I have two papers and a presentation on Monday, a paper due Tuesday, and readings to do! Ugh!!! And to top that off it is TOM! Not cool :( But on the bright side, although my diet has faltered most of the past few days, I have kept up with going to the gym. I set my goal to burn around 800 calories six days a week, and I have done that. It has been alot of running on hill courses, exercise bike, and elliptical. Trying to concentrate on the cardio since my time is limited and I gotta read and workout. I weighed myself today, not sure why since I have not eaten well and I am retaining water, but I only gained 1 or 2 lbs. Once this week is over I will kick back into gear :) ***** I have a ton of homework to do so I am gonna make personals short Cm: I am feeling you, school is busy and tough... But we will survive ( I hope lol) Icon- I am a natural peanut butter addict!! I love it! But I also try to bring in some veggies and hummus or sometimes a small serving of soup or reduced fat cheese as a snack :) Rie- Yay!!! You met one of your goals, and you are getting so close!!! Awesome job girl!!! Keep kicking it to that insanity. I hope you are enjoying your time off work and I am super jealous of all your concerts!! Munster- I wish I had a brother in law to kick my butt!! Lucky! Although I am pretty sure you do a good job at kicking your own butt :) Namaste- great job on your weight loss!!! Way to go!! And about those classes, get it girl! Dance it up! Weight loss is so much easier when it is exciting and fun! :) good luck :) Everlasting- I hope your little girl is doing better.. That has got to be so tough not being able to get out on top of it. I am sorry *hugs* .. I hope you can find someway to make it work! :) *** Back to the homework :( Goodnight ladies :) |
Hi everyone!! Like Jamie, I'm so sorry for not posting at all the past week or so--life is so packed with work/school/homework/trying to hold onto what little social life i have!! I'm sure you can all relate on the busy-ness factor though, so that shouldn't really be an excuse!! Either way, I'm back to chat!
I haven't been as good about working out lately as I was all of September and October...I think it really relates to my schoolwork as I've just been drowning in all of November pretty much. And thus, my weight loss has been at a standstill for nearly 10 days where I've fluctuated between 141 and 141.8 the entire time. I just want to see 140 (very quickly!!) and then 139!!!! But I know that the reason I'm not is because I haven't been taking the time to fit in the workouts, so it's all on me. However, I have been keeping my eating really in check because i KNOW i'm not getting in the exercise--so that's at least a success!! Jamie: Sounds like we are handling our time deficit completely opposite!! Haha. You are not eating as well, and I'm not working out enough. Maybe we can rub off on each other and get some sort of positive balance going between the two of us! Good luck on your papers and presentations!! Namaste: Way to go on losing 25 pounds!! Hiking AND bellydancing?! That sounds so amazing!! I'm a Colorado girl, so hiking is like one of my FAVORITE things :-) How is bellydancing?? It's something that I've always wanted to try, but never been able to push myself to do! Also, make sure to share those delicious healthy recipes your bf comes up with please! Good luck on your test! Everlasting: I'm so sorry, girl! That sounds like a really frustrating situation to be in :( I hope your baby is feeling better! It sucks that the weather is keeping you all locked up. Maybe one of the ways you can get through the next 3 weeks is by researching a new gym, or new exercise plan that you'll want to start then? And then figuring a way to chart it out with goals and dates you'll achieve a certain weight loss or fitness goal by. Seeing that you will be achieving these milestones may help you see that in the grand scheme of things 3 weeks is really nothing, and you'll be back in full gear in no time, with your body back feeling strong and healthy! Riestrella: You are hitting those mini-goals like crazy!! I'm so so excited for you!! :D Halfway to goal sounds like such an amazing place to be it--because you know you've been able to lose that amount before, there's no reason you can't do it again! My boyfriend is at uni at CU-Boulder! That's SO CRAZY!! Haha. We're actually from Greeley, CO. It's about an hours drive north from Boulder. I cannot believe your bf is in Boulder too, wow! I completely understand what you mean about everyone in shape--Colorado is the healthiest/most fit state in the US. And Boulder is #2 within the state of most fit/active. So yeah, everyone pretty much could be a fitness model there, hahaha :) Munster:How was the vacation/bridesmaid dress shopping?! Sounds like it was a fun weekend you had planned!! I love those kinds of workouts when you can feel it the next two days. Icon: I completely understand the want for nice snacks, too! I often find myself taking lots of snacks with me like carrots and apples and almonds, and then not eating them because they are so boring as I eat them day after day after day. It's hard to not get drawn away from your healthy snacks for something that looks so yummy! I actually was only in Wellington for one semester, just on a semester abroad program--so like 5 months. I actually stayed in the dorms at Auckland Uni for a couple of nights with a friend when we were sight-seeing in the city for the weekend--and yeah, the campus looked pretty impressive, at least what we saw of it! |
Well, the morning after my anniversary, I'm still here and very pleased with how it went. We were together 9 hours that day, we did some bowling and lasertag and a very intense 4 games of air hockey. Maybe not the conventional thing for an anniversary but both of us are very active and now that both of us are exercising 2 hours or so a day, it's impossible to stop us, lol. So, all that to say, I am more in love with my boyfriend then ever and had a wonderful time. :)
Tried to stay as much on program as possible too. We both got smaller portions and split one slice of cheesecake rather than one apiece (and our waitress was nice enough to split it in two for us!). Anyway, we were running around more than eating and I expect the damage to be minimal. :) cmwelp- I totally love hiking, it is one of my favorite things to do! I would love to live in Colorado, I would be in hiker's heaven lol. I also take some nature photography so I would have lots of things to take pictures of. :) Bellydancing is fantastic, it makes you feel gorgeous and it is totally low-impact. :) I totally love all the accessories that go with it too, I can't wait til I dance with a troupe someday and get some of those myself. :) Jamie- Thanks! I like the idea of classes, and also, since my parents were awesome enough to donate a full gym membership to me, 90 percent of the classes at the gym are free or at a significant discount. :) Also, all my school classes are in the evening so I am pretty much open to any class that meets in the morning. So it all works out. :) Well, I gotta get back to homework. Take care, see you guys later! |
Hey y'all! My week is just starting, but in a positive way! I'm down 1.5lbs of water weight from Saturday! Yesterday was tough eating wise but I pulled through ok - we had a surprise 50th birthday party for my Mom at a Dublin Square (Irish food and drinks), and I indulged a bit but I didn't go crazy :) I have a busy week in front of my computer though, lots of editing to be done (I'm a wedding photographer).
---------- Rie - Keep busy! How do you like Insanity? I've seen the infomercial a few times and I'm curious about it! I've tried p90x before and have a love/hate relationship with it. Namaster - Yay! Congrats on 25lbs!!!! And your anniversary :) Jamie - Good luck on your presentation today! cmwelp - I hope you see 139 this week! |
I wish I could get my husband to share in some delicious activity with me! Like a walk... or anything! I get bummed that it gets dark so early up north here and by the time he is home from work it is black outside... sigh.
The good news is that the heater is working again, and we have food in the house. The other good news is that the pants I bought not 2 weeks ago, size 18, when I couldn't fit into any of my pre-pregnancy stuff (size 14/16) are trying to fall down on me now. I must have just been horribly swollen in the waist and hips and everything from the c-section. I haven't pulled out my smaller pants yet though because my incision still hurts a bit and I don't want anything remotely tight on there... but maybe I'll be surprised in a few weeks when I try them on! But bad news... I don't think I'll ever fit into any of my smaller shirts ever ever ever again! I went from a size A cup pre-pregnancy to at least a DD. I don't even know... the D I wore while I was at the hospital delivering is now way too tight once the milk came in, and I'm just wearing sports bras now. I don't know how I will ever run again with all this... baggage. All I can say is that my shimmies when I start bellydancing again will be a bit more astounding I should think. More good news is that my friend and her husband came to visit me yesterday and held my colicy crying baby for 6 hours. I was with them the whole time, but it's just such a relief to not have to go through all that screaming alone! Her husband actually got the little girl to quiet down and sleep for a couple of hours! Namaste- I'm with you now, got to be getting back to some of the beginner stuff again! I finally had gotten belly rolls and flutters and all those sweet tricks down and now I have no core strength again. Bellydance is such a great workout though. You can amp your calorie burn too by simply moving from flat footed to up on your toes! Feel your legs burn! So great. I can't wait to get back into it. My little girl seems to like the drummy music so should be good... she can play in her baby swing and I can dance. |
Everlasting - I love bellydancing too! Although I think I probably look really funny when I do it. I've been doing a lot of zumba lately, though. And just today I did this Bar 3 workout from ExerciseTV and oh my gosh haha, it was a lot of ballet and pilates moves mixed together. And lots of leg work while being up on your toes!
|
platform- I love Zumba! I take a class at my local rec center and it is amazing. :) They aren't lying on the informercial when they say it gives you tons of energy and makes you happy. :)
Ever- I am a DD cup myself, have been busty since I was quite young, so I feel your pain. :) Yeah I am starting to get the beginning moves, I like snake arms especially but I haven't tried to coordinate both arms yet so that should be interesting. :) I'm back at school and back to my usual eating patterns. (At least when they are in healthy mode.) I am coming up on finals, and have about a 3.4 GPA right now. Two more points in one class and I will be up to a 4.0, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! It will be my first time to make a 4.0 if I pull it off this semester. :) Well, I got to get back to studying (again), take care! |
Hey everyone!
I've not been 'on plan' for a while, but I've still remained at 164 lbs so I'm happy about that. During my week off I became quite lazy when I had a day to myself, and on the other days I was busy socialising! So while yes, I could have made the time for Insanity, I've still not gained any weight so I'm happy with that. It's my goal for the daily weigh in thread to reach 163 lbs by the end of the month, so I'm hoping to get there! I know I can! 12 weeks to go until I see my bf, I can't wait. I got to Skype with him last night and it was a lot of fun, I really do miss just hanging out with him and all the banter we have! I'm back at work now, I'm working 2 and half weeks and then I have another holiday of 2 weeks this time! Can't wait, going to be all Christmassy and I'll get all my shopping sorted. That's about all I can think of to rant about. I've got a cold coming, so I've got to drown myself in water and drink lots of honey and lemon tea to keep it at bay. Mornings suck though! ~~~ Jamie - Good luck with all your school work! I do not envy you, by the time I left Uni I was DONE with assignments! But congrats on working out, that's amazing! Thanks for your encouragement, it means a lot =). I just hope I can get in the 150s by the time I see the bf!! cmwelp - Like I said to Jamie, I do not envy you students! The workload, while manageable if you spend all of your free time on it, is hard if you still want a LIFE! Hope it's all going well, and at least you know what you need to do for that next big push at your weight loss. At least you're not trying your best and getting no where! Yeah, it's pretty crazy! Now wouldn't it be super crazy if they knew each other?! You'll have to ask him does he go to Sushi Zanmai, because that's where the bf works haha. Boulder's only #2? What the **** is #1?! It was really intimidating being in Boulder when I weighed 200 lbs...I was probably the 1% of the population there that were overweight. I'm hoping by the time I go back I'm close to the healthy BMI zone so I can fit in and not feel so self conscious!! namaste - Sounds like the perfect anniversary date to me!! I remember last Valentine's day we went and got a Subway, ate it on a hill and then played video games. It was perfect for us =p. But I'm hoping I get more romance next year, haha! Good luck this semester! platform - Wedding photography huh? Bet you make loads of moneh! Well done and staying on top of things! I love Insanity, it's one **** of a challenge, really pushes you to the limit and I like how you only use your body and nothing else. It's great how varied the workouts are so you're not doing the same thing every day (I found I got bored of the 30DS after a while), so I would recommend everyone to try it! But download it, don't go out and buy it haha. |
I am pooped. I got no sleep last night and was so congested that I was wide awake at 6:30 this morning! I got out of bed and got back to work on a wedding I've been editing (finally got that done), and then my mom and I were off to spin class. It's almost 1:30 now and I have gotten a lot done so far today, but oh man I'm ready for my break!
----- namaste - You can do it! :cheer: Rie - Yup! I love it, it really is rewarding for how physical of a job it can be sometimes! But I don't make boatloads haha, thanks to The Knot some brides just don't appreciate value anymore... Some girls come to me thinking I'm a McDonald's dollar menu. Maybe I should try insanity out when I get back into my workout groove! That's how I got P90x ;) I like training that uses only your body! |
Hello everybody,
I am new here so this is my first post. I have simple goal this month to just walk for 45 minutes a day. I have skipped a couple of days but I am glad to just have something to look forward to and something small that I am accomplish. I feel better after having a walk and sometimes I go longer. It is a bummer that November is so cold though... and it is dark an hour after I get off work. But I have a big and tall husband to walk with me :D. We are trying to lose weight together, but I think I am more motivated than him. :P I am so tired of having a stuffy nose this week. Last night went something close to waking up - rolling over - blowing my nose - falling back asleep - wake up and repeat about 4 times. I try to dress as warm as I can and drink hot tea when I get home from walks, but this is a bummer. Did not dress up for halloween this year. I just watched movies at home. But next year I want to paint my face with a calavera design (the pretty/dark sugar skull designs with flowers). |
Hey people!
I see a lot of new faces since when I last checked in :) Rie hey, remember me? Big congrats on being 164! You made huge progress while I was gone, I remember you plateauing around 170 a little over a month ago. So, turns out Insanity is really paying off for you!!! :Ahm: I didn't check in in 5-6 weeks probably. I am sooo tired when I get home from the University, and those long sitting hours aren't serving my back. The good thing: I've lost 4lbs. Which is not a big amount to lose, given it's been 8 weeks since I began slowly improving, but I'm happy cause the small changes are adding up! The bad thing: I exercised once during that whole time. Blah. I need to gather my strength. The main reason I'm tired is because even though I've been getting up before 6am 5 days a week since the beginig of Oct, I still can't make myself go to bed before 00-01am. The worst thing: Fell of the wagon last week. I let my self loose a bit, but when I thought of all the stuff I ate - it was horrible! So this Monday I'm 3lbs back from those 4 lost, but I'm guessing it's the bloat, plus I'm PMSing. Okay, this was a random babble. What I wan't to say, I'll try to check in every day, again. This weight needs time and commitment to get off, so I better start now. Looking forward to meeting you all! |
Ila - Welcome! Totally know how you feel on the congestion :( It was really cold here in NJ but since yesterday the temperature has spiked to the high 60s. My sinuses are out of control!
hotHealthy4life - Don't feel too bad, I haven't been here since Jan/Feb 2011. And I gained about 15lbs back :( Good for you for losing! The important thing about falling off of the wagon is that you recognize it and get back up and get back OP! |
Ila- Welcome to 3FC! I'm sure you'll really like it here. :) 45 minutes a day for a walk is fantastic, it really clears your mind and makes you feel amazing. :) It's a good thing you have a support system with your husband, that will help a lot. :)
Platform and Ila- I feel you on the allergies. Mine have been crazy too with the temperatures all over the place. It literally dropped 30 degrees from one day to the next here in Missouri. It's crazy. :( HotHealthy- Welcome back! I am returning myself, have been here off and on since 2009-ish and came back having regained over half of a 50 lbs loss. :( I've lost eight pounds though since I first began trying to lose again, so I am hopeful I will lose more. :) I hope the same for you too! :) Platform- Thanks! I got an 88 on the last test so I am right back at an 87 in one class and a 99 in the other. Here's hoping my professor will have mercy on me come finals and bump me up to an A. :D Rie- That sounds cool! :) He also bought me a scrapbooking kit (like one of those huge $30 ones) so I can keep scrapbooking the experiences we have had together. Still waiting on the flowers though, lol. I have two cats that love the taste of fresh roses (eeek!) so keeping them anywhere I can see and/or take care of them is impossible. :P As for me... did my yoga class today and then went to class. I am starting to feel that winter slump, where I am unmotivated to do very much. But I am still sticking to the program and going to class... I know it will work itself out eventually. :) I am going to see Chris Tomlin/Louie Giglio in concert this weekend, plus seeing a Rams game, both with the boyfriend. So it will be a busy weekend this weekend, plus I'm working two days. Mercifully though, the store did not decide to call me in on Black Friday, so I will have that week off. Luck must be on my side on this one. What are you guys doing for Thanksgiving, those of you in the US? :) Well, I guess I will head towards class now. Take care! |
Hi ladies!
I am making no progress in term of not-being-so-tired-and-hence-moving-around-when-I-get-home. I got out of the house at 6:45, been at the university for 9 hours (Wednesday is terrible!) and I got home at 6:45pm (3 hour commute back and forth). Next week I have 4 exams, so this is quite a busy and stressful time. And I hate excuses, but till Nov 28th school is really a priority! Till then I'm gonna put effort into eating as healthy as I can, and posting here daily! Namaste, your boyfriend sounds romantic :) What classes are you taking? Regarding weight regain, at least we're never quitting,right? And thank you all from welcoming me :) |
HotHealthy- I agree! :) Right now I'm kind of plateauing around 211ish but I will stay OP. It just feels too good to quit. :) I am taking classes at community college, was dumb with my first few years in college and now I'm having to start afresh. I am taking Health Information Management Technology and Intermediate Algebra, and may eventually add a couple of classes into the mix so I can graduate before I retire. :D And yes, my boyfriend is very romantic and has a great sense of humor. :) We're always laughing and having a good time. :)
~~~ I have a busy day today. Got to work late tonight, and then hanging out with my sister this morning. :) Hopefully will find some time to exercise somewhere in there. :) I did decide to take a short Black Friday shift since my boyfriend got called in also. That should be an adventure, I have never worked a Black Friday before and I work in retail so it's always fun. :) Back to homework. Talk to all of you soon. :) |
How exciting to see new faces each time I check in!! Welcome welcome :)
As for me, well... I kinda had a break down on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday... I had so many things due that I was pretty much glued to my computer and sleeping maybe 3 hours a night. Well I still went to the gym on Friday Saturday and then was unable to go Sunday because my husband got us tickets to a NFL game. Then Monday came and I was like I have too much to turn in I'll have to skip the gym today, making it two days in a row no working out. Then while working on my paper for Tuesday I got a horrible horrible migraine, pretty much ruined my paper I bet, and I ended up having to turn in not my best work, miss both classes I have on Tuesday, skip gym on Tuesday, and slept like 18 hrs... Wed I pulled it together and did a good workout at the gym, but then on Thursday my husband made plans for us to have dinner so I missed the gym again! Ugh I am super angry at myself for letting myself miss four days in a week! I don't even wanna weigh myself. I think I will go all out on diet and gym and then weigh myself on Monday and hope I am still at 150/149. I hope I havent gained too much with no gym and bad diet :( I should kick my husbands butt on top of that for putting me in bad restaurants and taking away my gym time :) luckily I love him... But anyway, all I can hope is that I stick to it this weekend and that Monday morning the scale won't say be too evil too me. And Tuesday I'll get my paper back so I am hoping for an A- / B+... I'll let you guys know ... Hope the teacher likes my idea and ignores my lack of clarity *fingers crossed* **** Cmw- please rub off on me with your ability to control your food!!! I need it... Last spring during finals I gave up refined sugars for the whole time and it worked out really well so I am considering doing that. It kept me from saying oh just one snack and then that turning into a horrible day/week of eating... Good luck with all your work :) Platform- Go you for doing all the dancing workouts. I know they work you hard and will give you those long lean muscles but I am super uncoordinated and would fall flat on my face. Spin class I do love though! And that's awesome that your mom goes with you :) Namaste- your anniversary sounded super fun... I love laser tag (even though I suck at it and always lose).... Good luck with your classes! I am sure you will do well :) and good job sticking to those classes! Major props! People keep trying to get me into zumba and I resist... Too scared :( And btw black Friday in retail sucks hardcore ... I worked so many black Fridays at Starbucks and I had to open at 345 in the morning, it was jam packed all day with people getting coffee in between their stores, they were all in a rush, tired and grumpy! I hated it. I wish you luck! Where do you work? Rie- yay for holding strong at 164!!! I know you will hit 163 soon.. And then you will be in the 150's ... Just keep pushing! That is exciting that you got to Skype your man! Long distance is hard, but Skype definitely helps :) And definitely get that tea and liquids going.... Having a cold sucks! I hope you can cut it off before I gets going :) Ila- welcome!! Sorry to hear about the stuffy nose! Walking everyday is a good goal... I am glad you have a husband that is in it with you! That will help alot :) Hothealthy4life- welcome back! Sucks that you gained that three lbs, although it may just be water weight that will go away. At least you were brave enough to weigh yourself. I am hiding from my scale... You are right though... During this time of the semester school has to be a priority. You can lose the 5 lbs you might gain but it is much harder to change a grade you mess up on ... Good luck on your work !!! The end of the tunnel is in sight :) --- Alright well I have some readings to do and gonna get jump start on my final papers this coming week! But much less busy so I'll be posting more and hopefully have positive things to say! :) I had a goal to hit 145 by thanksgiving so lets see :/ ... |
Namaste- Shoot, we must have a lot in common... I love Chris Tomlin too!
Ila- The walking is great! I started a simple walking program a couple years ago and that is what kickstarked my weight loss. Eventually I got bored walking the same route every day and switched to running, and I did a half-marathon about a year ago! HotHealthy- Good luck on exams! The week before Thanksgiving break was always the worst for me when I was in college! Jamie- I know what you mean about kicking husband butts. They can be such bad influences. --- Eh, it has been a pretty uneventful week for me. I didn't walk as much as I wanted to or eat as healthy as I wanted to... but we'll see how I do when I weigh in tomorrow. I don't think I did enough damage to gain, but maybe maintain this week. In good news the baby is now acting a little bit calmer. I mean... just a little... and I can unstrap her from me long enough for her to sit in her baby swing for maybe 15-20 minute stretches without her screaming. And sometimes all I need to do is put her paci back in her mouth and she is happy again for another little bit... this is just about long enough to perhaps do an uninterrupted workout video. I'm going to try some Zumba this week. |
Hey ladies, not got much time for personals today I'm sorry =(. But I have read all your posts =).
I've been sick all week with a bad cough and a little bit of a cold (the cough is the worse part) and I've not had a day off since Sunday and I won't have my next day off until Monday. 7 days at work, HARUMPH!! So work + ill = sad panda. I've been working a lot of night shifts (work at a cinema so it's all Twilight mania right now) so I've been struggling to sleep. I've been taking Nyquil (I have a stash since they don't sell it here!) to get to sleep but the one night I thought I didn't need it I couldn't sleep for hours ;_;. I'm still at 164 lbs, but I know that this week I've been busy and ill so I'm not too bothered. Life happens, you know? Hopefully I'll be better soon and can start my round 2 of Insanity. |
Hope you feel better soon, Rie. I've had a cold for the last few days too. I almost *never* get sick in the States, so I am blaming Europe hahaha
I miss Zumba! I used to take classes when I was at home, but now that I've moved to France exercising hasn't been what it should be. I *do* walk everywhere though which is good. But sometimes I miss a good ole run/45 min elliptical routine & being drenched in sweat LOL |
Good morning everyone,
I am finally getting to check in after a long weekend. The Chris Tomlin show was great, the boyfriend and I danced around like crazy and really had a good time. Saturday I was working, and we were totally swamped. We were working on a tie display and we finally got it, and a woman in a mobile scooter lost control of the thing and crashed into our display, ties went everywhere, and all of our work was pretty much for naught. Our team lead was sooo mad too, mostly because if it looks bad she catches blame for it even if it was really beyond her control. :( And today the boyfriend and I are going to see an NFL game. There is a radio station around here that gives good deals on stuff like that when they do the faith and family days, so we got tickets plus food vouchers plus a release form that will get us onto the field for a couple of hours while the radio station broadcasts and does some activities. So I am really looking forward to that too. :) ~~~ Jamie- I work at Macy*s in the merchandising department. The good thing about that is that we generally don't have to deal with customers, mostly with putting things back and straightening things out. :) Even though I have had good experiences with customers at the mall I work at, I'm sure Black Friday (and the subsequent Saturday) doesn't exactly make them less stresed. Ever- Sweet! I got into a lot of Christian music when I was in college, I am also a fan of tobyMac, Mandisa, and Francesca Batischelli. |
Hello everyone! I'm on Thanksgiving break right now. And I'm still so very busy. :( I have 5 big assignments that I have to complete before next Tuesday. Anyway, I just got on and read up on everyone's progress.
Rie - I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. :( Yay on getting that weight down though! Namaste - I love Chris Tomlin. I just went to a Casting Crowns concert a little over a week ago. It was awesome. Do you work at Walmart? Just all the lingo makes me think so. ;) Everlasting - My nephew was colicky. My brother heard that you could put socks on their feet and it would help. Don't ask me if that's true or not, but the child still likes having socks on his feet and he's 2 now. Haha! She will grow out of it soon. Hang in there! I'm thinking about doing a detox starting the week after Thanksgiving. It's phase I from the Fat Smash Diet. Ever heard of it? I've done it before and it definitely works....and most importantly, it's healthy. |
Hi everyone!
How was the weekend? I'm not usually on the chat. In fact, I just recently joined the board. I've been making some weight-loss progress. I spent 6 days stalled at 124, finally dropped to 123, and by Friday has made it to 122.6... on my way down! This weekend there was some intense tailgating this weekend I am up to 124. I need some support! How much of the gain could be real? |
Namaste - Ignore that previous question. I just read that you work at Macy's. :)
Slow around here right now. I guess because of the weekend and then with Thanksgiving coming up. So, me and the DH have been eating vegetarian the last few days. Not all out vegetarian, but not eating meat at dinner. His cholesterol is borderline high and we need to get that down. He knows what it is though. Every morning, before work, he stops and gets a sausage biscuit. THAT is his problem. So, he's been eating a little healthier...been getting fruit, yogurt, and granola for breakfast instead. Anyway, we will have lots of family time Thursday and Friday. I have a bunch of school work to get finished before we leave Thursday so I'm determined to stay focused on that today and tomorrow. Soon2BSlender - Welcome! Your gain could very well just be your body holding water, especially if you ate a bunch of salty stuff. Drink plenty of water and it will probably come right off. :) |
Sgregg- Yup. :) They actually took away my shift the last time I looked at my schedule, so I will just be working Saturday, which is fine with me. :) I like Casting Crowns as well, though I've never seen them in concert.
~~~ I have been slacking off just a touch, especially yesterday. I paid for it though, cause I felt horrible all day yesterday and the day before. I am back OP today, and I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will stay that way all day. I had fun at the NFL game, we got to go onto the field after the game and take tons of pictures. I even got an autograph from one of the players, which I thought was pretty cool. I even stayed OP at the game, no snack food, just an overpriced bottle of water. ;) I am looking forward to Thanksgiving too, I am spending it with my boyfriend's family for the first time. I have never met his extended family before so I reckon Thanksgiving is a good time to do so. |
Ah I wish I was going to be with my family for Thanksgiving, but they are across the Atlantic :(
Have fun, namaste! I'm sure it will be great :) |
Geeeezzz... well, I managed to injure my back for the second time in five years by doing something funky with it while I was doing yoga. I don't get it. I have done yoga coming up on three years now, and I have never had any injuries as a result. Whatever I did, it is painful and I may have to ease up on my exercise regimen until it heals up. One thing's for sure, I will be watching my diet like a hawk until I get back to exercising. :(
However, I digress. Getting closer to finals with every passing day. Right now I'm hovering or above A range for both my classes, so its looking good. I am trying to receive a scholarship from the newspaper I design for plus an additional scholarship, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Dbf is not doing so hot in his classes so he'll be with me at community college for another year. It's not for lack of effort though, and I know he'll do a lot better on finals. :) |
Sorry I am not usually in chat, but I am hoping to become more active on the forum! So hi all!
I also just wanted to share that I just started a 3FC blog and I'd love for you guys to check it out! http://www.3fatchicks.com/diet-blogs/sweetpeach3388/ Thanks <3 |

Would be mucho appreciated =) I know I said I was going to start Insanity on Monday, but I didn't, and trust me, when I read posts like this I sometimes roll my eyes! I'm definitely going to start it again on the 28th, it'll work about better for me because my hours at work aren't as unsociable and I can fit it in in the morning. Then I get 2 weeks off so I can definitely stick to it!! I'm surprisingly still at 163 lbs which is great. I'm happy that my body isn't as susceptible to weight gain since I've been working out pretty constantly since April. So Monday will kick start the weight loss again I'm sure of it!! |
Hey people! Did you have a nice Thanksgiving?
We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in my country, but my family celebrates a Saint on Nov 24th (every family in Serbia has a certain Saint they consider the guardian of the family) so I know the temptations you're facing :). Plus my grandmother and grandfather are celebrating 56 years of marriage <3 this Saturday so there are distractions for me this week :) Anyway, my exam week is almost over (2 are left from initial 5, Organic Chemistry and Physics) and I am pumped to start some more serious exercising and healthier eating. Sorry for not being here, I said I'm gonna be regular, and I am once this crazy week is over! Have a great weekend everybody! PS Rie, you look great! Your waist is much,much smaller. And you have a nice figure- you are definitely going to be hot once that you are at your goal weight (not that you are not already!) I am sorry about your dog :( |
Hi guys! Happy Black Friday! :)
I was shocked to discover I actually lost weight over Thanksgiving, and actually broke my plateau (I had gained a lb and been stuck at 212.8 for two weeks, and now am at 212.4). I am also hoping to start some exercise today now that my back has healed up and most of the food is gone. :) I spent Thanksgiving with my boyfriend, his mom and brother, his two aunts and one uncle, and a ton of puppy dogs. One of them was a miniature Yorkie and was smaller than a newborn baby, and he even had his own little fleece pullover. :) HotHealthy- No worries, I am practically a no-show during finals week too. I only have two this semester though, so I might show up a little more frequently then I did while handling a full courseload. Organic chem and physics are pretty hard... what are you planning to do after you get out of college? SweetPeach- I really enjoyed your blog. That turkey cake looks absolutely amazing too, it must have taken a lot of hard work! :) |
It is awesome that you lost weight over Thanksgiving! Maybe the extra calories nudged your metabolism :)
Oooh, college is not nearly over for me, so I don't have a clue! Studies of pharmacy last five years and I am just a freshman, but I like it this way, the 'real life' with real obligations is still far away and I'm glad |
Hey ladies!
I'm really starting to feel the strain of not exercising. So I'm trying my best to channel those feelings into motivation. I'm completely busy tomorrow so I have no time to work out, but Monday for sure I'm going to hit up Insanity and sweat like a hippo in a power shower. I HAVE TO! I want to lose as much weight as possible before I see my bf in February and I want to hit that 150 lbs if I can!! Christmas is going to be awful, my parents are both overweight and my Dad especially likes to use Christmas (the entire December month more like) as an excuse to gorge on treats. But I hope I can keep a good mentality and stick to my 3 meals a day and no snacks. I might write something tonight, just a personal diary entry just to map out all the happenings and get it all out of my system. I find writing very much like therapy sometimes. Hope you're all well and that you all survived Black Friday (we got news reports of people pulling out guns for bargains?! oh you crazy yanks ;p) and are staying strong!! Can't believe we're almost in December!! hothealthy - SO GREAT to see you back! I hope Uni is going well for you and good luck on your exams. Which Saint does your family celebrate? That's really interesting! Aww thanks sweety, I hope I'll have a hot Beyonce like body personally! namaste - Sometimes the body can do confusing things to us! Good luck with your exercise plan, you CAN do it! Take it easy on your back though, back injuries are awful I know too well! |
Rie- Thanks for the encouragement! :) Christmas is very similar in my house, my dad doesn't eat much but my mom is constantly cooking and eating. She is overweight also.
HotHealthy- Must be! And I am still losing too and couldn't be more thrilled with that. That's cool on the college thing, I am a freshman myself, I am starting afresh at the sprightly young age of 27. ;) I have a degree in English but couldn't find work other than my current job, so I decided to go back and try something different. Whew, what a day! We were having the rest of the Black Friday sales today so people were going crazy. We literally had lines of 10 people or more waiting at both registers. Thankfully I don't have to directly deal with customers, just direct them wherever they need to go if they ask me. I managed to get some post-Thanksgiving shopping done at another shop, where I got some amazing pj bottoms for $8. Aaand... they are an XL and are almost too big. :D I started back on my exercise regimen today. Did an hour of the Biggest Loser workout and it must have paid off because I haven't gained any weight today. We'll see how it goes when I get on the scale tomorrow. :) |
Hey ladies! It has been a while since I posted, I went home for Thanksgiving and had no time or Internet access. I want to come back and do personals and read up on everyone later but I just wanted to pop in and say hey! I hope you all enjoyed your holidays! Mine was awesome but I ate super poorly and only exercised one day :( I weighed myself today and have gained 4 pounds, although some of that gain happened before I left for thanksgiving due to school getting busy and papers and such. I knew I had gained and now it is time to get committed and lose it. I need to really focus up my diet though because that is always my weakness .... Anybody have any really good recipes or healthy foods to share that will make this easier?

Well girls, I did it! I did Insanity today! I haven't done an Insanity workout since the 9th November. That's 2 and half weeks with NO EXERCISE! I still am astonished I managed to lose a pound in that time frame and maintain 163 lbs, as well as lose 1 inch off my stomach (I mean, seriously, what the h3ll?!). I was super close to not doing it, to just curling up in bed and taking a nap. Then I said to myself "You're not a quitter, you're halfway to your goal so just get up and do it!" I then played some ultimate cheesy 80s motivation (montage) music and got ready then I did it!!
It wasn't great, I ended up coughing a LOT since I think my asthma is playing up because of the cold weather. I skipped some of the push ups (I was running a bit behind on time you see) but I did most of the cardio including awful power jumps (jumping high in the air, bringing your knees as high up as possible, giving your knees a slap with your hands and landing) and now I feel super happy. It's the fact that I got over my slump barrier and just did it no matter how well it went. I updated Fitocracy for the first time in weeks, I'm going to update my exercise post and yeah - I just want to GET BACK ON IT!! Tomorrow I've got a packed day so I'll have to take the rest day early, but Wednesday I have no excuse and after that I'm off for 2 weeks so I can concentrate on my weight loss. namaste - I can imagine Macy's would be a NIGHTMARE on sale day. Whenever I visit the UK I love going to Macy's, it's all affordable and there's so much stuff to look at. You're lucky you don't have to deal with customers too much, retail shoppers can be a nightmare!! Jamie - Welcome back! Just drink lots of water, your weight gain could be water retention from all the food you ate with sodium in it. I'm sure you'll lose it in no time. I'm not much of a healthy eater, food isn't too much of a downfall it's just consistency with exercise, so I wish you all the luck! |
Rie- Oh yeah, I am not generally a stressed-out person but those days definitely get my stress level to a rolling boil, lol. Thankfully those sales are over with and there is nothing too big until Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas. :) Congratulations on your successful Insanity workout, I have heard that is really hard.
Jamie- Hi there! Glad to see you back again. I don't usually cook so I don't have any recipes, but I did find some Gala apples at Walgreen's the other day. There are three of them and they are $1.99 for three. They are amazing too, I ate two of them by day's end and the third is stored in the fridge. You should definitely give them a try. Well I got back into the swing of things with a seventy-five minute workout (normal for me is maybe 50 minutes to 90 minutes) and I feel incredible. I can definitely tell more definition in my face, and in my thighs too. I have several NSVs too, which I will make a post on later on. Overall, an awesome day. How was yours? |
Thanks Rie! Ugh, I hope we all survive the holidays, it's gonna be tricky :)
My goal is to brake into 160's by the New Year (we celebrate Christmas Jan 7th, so there are no treats till after NY). Yes, I agree writing is therapeutic, and so is 3fc in terms of weight loss struggles :) It's awesome that you have worked out yesterday! The important thing is that you did it, and if you haven't done all the moves, doesn't matter, you'll do them next time. Btw, you asked about what Saint are we celebrating, it's a Serbian Saint, Stefan Prvovenčani (which means Stephen the First-Crowned, he was Serbian king in 13th century, and also one of the founder of the church of Serbia) Namaste I always admire when people pursue education in later years. To me it shows a good character, many would've given up, so be proud! I myself am 1 year late, I've been a freshman at the University of Electrical engineering last year, but I gave up in order to pursue something I really wanted. My parents still frown upon me 'losing a year', but I couldn't be happier about the change :) Btw, what Biggest Loser workout are you doing? I have also just got back into exercising and I am starting with their 30 Day Jumpstart. Looking forward to hear your NSVs! Jamie glad you had a good time over Thanksgiving! Don't worry, weight will come of. At least some of it is probably water :) Well, I am doing good. I am into right mentality. I finally began working out again, after almost two months! It feels great, I don't know why do I ever not work out. Actually, I started rewatching season 9 of TBL (my favorite cast) and as a first challenge they had to cover a distance of a marathon in couples, on a bike. Half a marathon a person. I found that interesting. One of my main goals, a goal that, when reached, I can say 'I'm fit enough now', is to run a half marathon. And I thought if 400+lbs people can do it so can I. So I did 13.1 mile on my elliptical Sunday afternoon. It took me 65' 15'', but I felt great, I've started the 'get fit journey' with a bang! Mon was rest day (crazy school schedule), and today I did 30min of TBL 30Day Jumpstart. I also ate fairly well, I want to ease into healthier eating, so I allow myself one treat a day 200-300kCal. Because of my height and activity I believe I can lose a pound a week at 1800kCal (my bmr is 1600+), and that is plenty of food, although still much less than I eat on a -normal unhealthy day-. And right now I am not counting calories, but I am writing down and measuring my food. I will be doing the portion control, and if I am not happy with the results I get, then I will start counting calories. By the way, can somebody explain to me what Black Friday is actually? |
