how often does everyone weigh in?
how often does everyone weigh in? weekly? bi-weekly? monthly?
just curious....;) |
daily. it helps me stay on top of myself all the time
Daily, but I take the number with a grain of salt. I fluctuate A LOT, so it helps keep me motivated to see the downward TREND. When I weighed weekly I would often become discouraged by a gain, but weighing daily and looking at the weekly average results in a much more accurate picture of my weekly weight loss for me.
I used to weigh in daily, but it got too frustrating. I could logically tell myself that I wasn't going to see a drop EVERY DAY, but emotionally I couldn't handle it. So now I weigh myself weekly. I'm much more likely to see a drop every time I weigh, which is much more motivating to me!
I weigh in officially once a week at my weight watchers meeting. I also weigh myself at home here and there.. I also fluctuate. It usually is the ball park of a certain number.
I consider my once a week weigh in my official weight for the week.that is what a put in my ticker for 3FC |
Daily. It keeps me accountable but I only log Sunday's weight on my official sheet.
I weigh-in Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at my weight-loss center. Those days fit into my school and work sch plus were supposed to get in the center between 3-5 times a week to weigh-in.
I weigh-in daily too - same time every morning. Its the first thing I do, after turning on the coffee pot :-) It keeps me accountable as well as motivated.
I weigh in every other week. Monday mornings. I look forward to that day. I used to weigh every day but that just became to much for me. I weigh in every other week because if I have a bad day or 2 it gives me time to get back on and still see a loss.
Daily...
okay thanks guys... i think imma try weekly and if i start to lose quite a bit then ill go daily to see actually where and when i lost it. :)) thanks!!

Compulsively and constantly. I weigh on 5 different scales and multiple times a day...I track the weight on each one to determine which scale I trust the most and to reassure me that the number is not going up.
Officially at home, Friday mornings is the official weigh in once a week though, but I am usually lowest Wedensday mornings on the glass scale at my workplace. |

I am a daily weigher so I'm definitely not saying that daily weighing is bad! But it's helpful to remember if you do decide to weight yourself every day it's not always useful to see when you lost it... because that loss could be reflecting food you ate two or three days ago... if that makes sense. Just something I learned (and have to be reminded of frequently!) on 3fc that's helpful to me :) good luck! |
I weigh myself daily. I go crazy if I don't know where my weight is at. It helps me stay accountable. Weighing myself daily helps me figure out what works with my body and what doesn't. I take the weight fluctuations with a grain of salt though. The weight that I record are the ones on Wednesdays.
I became too obsessed with weighing. Now my scale is in the basement and I weight once a month, one week after my period is over. I try to make sure not to eat too many salty things (like pickles or olives) the day before I weigh in.
I use an app on my iphone to take note of my weight, body fat, muscle, water % and measurements. i do this every 10 days (5th, 15th - TOMORROW- and 25th)
I do however get on the scale about every 2 days to check my weight, but it will motivate me and demotivate me, depending on the result, so I don't really take that number seriously... But if it's not down from the previous "unofficial" weigh in, I get rather annoyed, which at the end of the day just helps me stay on track :D |
I weigh in every day and track it via MFP, but that's only been happening the last two months for me as I didn't have a phone that could use the MFP app before.
So I still go by my weekly weigh-ins on Wednesdays to track my progress - I like seeing the trend during the week and as nevaeh says, it helps me stay on track, but the only number that counts for my spreadsheets is the Wednesday number. :D |
I like to weight myself daily just to keep myself in check and accountable for the things I've eaten the day before. I still only really count my weekly Wednesday weigh-ins for the real number, but it just keeps me sane either knowing that I'm headed in the right direction--or that I need to buckle down and work a little harder.
Obviously the fluctuations can freak you out at first, but once you get used to them, it's not a big deal. Like one of the other members said, as long as there is an overall downward trend in the numbers from day to day, then everything is working correctly! :) |
I will be getting weighed weekly as I have a consultant who does it for me, the best thing to do is not weigh yourself too often as you may feel disappointed with the results, waiting either weekly or every two weeks will give you a better result and you will feel like you have acheived more :) xxx
I weight myself daily. Actually, I usually do it 3 times a day, just to get an idea of how my weight fluctuates. It's really helped me to have a better understanding of how my body works. I do it first thing in the morning, when I go home for my lunch break, and before I go to bed. I think it really just depends on what you feel most comfortable with. :)
I weigh myself daily, but only update livestrong and my ticker on Thursday weigh in. I only count my once a week weight as "official" LOL
I weigh daily. It keeps me accountable and I find it interesting to see how my weight fluctuates :)
Weekly. Long enough that there's a noticeable difference, but often enough that I don't lose track and slack off.
Weekly. Friday mornings, in my birthday suit! :)
Daily!
My morning routine is this: Wake up, use the restroom, take BC, weigh in..... I also record my weight daily so I can see what my body is doing over time. Obsessive? Some may think so, but I am a visual person and seeing the numbers really helps me keep focus!
I weigh every couple of days, just to see where it's at. I only have one "official" weigh in a week though, which is when I update MFP, my ticker, and a the 12 weeks to take off challenge :)
Twice a day:
In the morning after potty (gets recorded in weight tracker app & daily spreadsheet) In the evening right before bed (not recorded, just to reset my scale... if the weight is within a lb of the last weight, it jumps to that number. so this is mostly to keep the next morning accurate, but also gives me a preview. It's usually about 3lbs difference.) "Official" weigh-in days are Mondays for my weekly spreadsheet, Saturday for MFP, and I update my ticker here every time I go down to the next lb. I used to weigh weekly because the fluctuations drove me nuts. But then I needed more data (I am a geek) and had a lot of fun figuring out my "patterns" and what they were related to. The two big things are water retention due to 1) sodium intake and 2) menstrual cycle. With this data I am prepared to stick it out through my monthly 10-day stall/gain. |
I've weighed three times. This year....
I weigh in once a week and I try to do it at around the same time (Monday morning :) )
When I am doing well I weigh in almost every day. When I am off the wagon I weigh about once a week.
I used to everyday, but now maybe once a week - if that. I find it too emotionally stressful focusing on a number. I find it too emotionally stressful to keep checking it, makes me feel like im failing if i don't meet my (often unrealistic) expectations. So now i just track my measurements and weight in once or twice a month.
I weigh daily, but I don't pay too much attention to the number. I only record weekly. I just figured out that weighing daily is sort of a 'reminder' that I need to make an effort to lose. Strangely, when I don't weigh myself very often, I sort of 'forget' without really forgetting, but tricking myself into not thinking about, the fact that I'm overweight and need to work on it.
Another daily weigher here. Like others, I only use my Wednesdays as an official weigh in. I record my weight everyday though. Seems to be working for me.
Daily. I also have an "official" weigh in once a week, but I do weigh every day. It stresses me out way too much not to check for a week. And I feel better when I can see there are fluctuations and that it is normal.
I also weigh daily, I look forward to it even, it sets my plan for the day; if i have lost a little then I know I don't need to push as hard during my workout, if I have gained a little then I try to get a little extra sweat in.
And, honestly, I don't have the patience to wait it out for one day a month. LoL. |
I weigh-in almost daily, but do my best not to stress over small fluctuations in the number
I weigh in every morning.
i know this is horrible but i weigh myself every morning, if i miss 3 mornings in a row i'll freak out. It's like my mind thinks that some how i'll gain the 26 pounds back over night even though i'm eating right lol. oh well i guess it isn't so bad it does keep me in line
