~~*October Chat!*~~
Hi Ladies!
It's October already, the month of Halloween woohoo! Although I actually never bother dressing up so I don't know why I showed excitement. Only 2 months until December which is a bit crazy... Hope you are all well =) |
Holy cow, the holidays are coming up way too soon! And truthfully, I'm a little worried about resisting all of those holiday goodies and meals.
|
How is it already October? Heck, I still don't understand where the summer went!
|
Hey Ladies!
Okay so this hasn't been the best posting week for me :(. It has been one heck of a long week with DH being gone so much, and me with the two LOs by myself. When I get some free quiet moments I really just want to sit down lol! So, hoping everyone is doing great! I had Core Cardio and Balance today, which I didn't want to do! I wanted to do Max Interval Sports Training (I have the deluxe version of Insanity that comes with other workouts) but the DVD kept skipping forward to fast. It was driving me NUTS. So I just had to do the other workout instead :(. I was bummed. Oh well, still got the workout in for the day and now baby girl is having a nap and DS is out with Daddy, thank goodness! I am probably going to hit the gym after her nap and do some running, I am hoping to start working on the under 7 minute mile time here in the next month or so. Let's have a great October girls, and hit it hard!!!! Rie-From last thread, yes my husband is a teacher. Technically he is an Administrator but he also teaches 2 classes on campus as well. He is CRAZY busy all the time between administration and then taking on the classes as well. We met my freshman year in college (his sophomore year) in the field house at our college (where the coaching offices for different sports are, the training room, equipment rooms, etc.) when I was playing soccer and he was playing football. We were both collegiate athletes and zeroed in on each other right away ;). He was tall (6'4") in great shape, and super hot lol! I love me some American football pants lol! We started dating about a week after we met, got engaged a year and a half later, and were married about 7 months after that, all before my 21 bday lol! Now we have 2 kids, we are both teachers/coaches (he used to coach football before he went into admin) I coach varsity high school soccer. Anyway it was one of those college "sweetheart" kind of deals I guess lol! So, that's our story, sorry it took up so much space haha! I hope that you enjoy your rest day tomorrow, I know I always do lol! Keep pushing with Insanity, it's AMAZING!!!!! I can't believe I only have 2 more weeks left of Round 2! Missy-It's true, the holidays are REALLY hard. We just have to enforce that willpower! Midnight-Summer is not nearly long enough is it? Before you know it, winter will be over and Spring will be here and the time will just fly! Alright girls, I will check in tomorrow, hope you all have a great weekend! |
I have a confession! I got a Subway today ;_;. BUT! I only got a 6 inch since I usually stuff my face with a foot long - so even though I had a bit of a weak moment I compromised. It was also free because I had collected enough points on my Subway card >_>. Yes...I have one of those. I lived off Subway at Uni!
When I got home I did my Insanity workout and every time I felt like giving up I thought "NO! You must work off that Subway!" and kept going. It worked! Official weigh in day/measuring day tomorrow! But I've got work in the morning =(. Missy Krissy - Hmmm...Halloween candy! Oh deary me. We'll have to stay strong and only treat ourselves a little bit! MidnightRaven - Where did this year go?! At this point I want time to fly by so I can go on my holiday sooner, hehe! munster - Don't worry about lack of posting, you always make an effort when you can and that counts the most =). Shame about your DVD skipping, I have them digitally so I have to do them watching a laptop. Can be annoying sometimes because of the screen size though! I took my rest day earlier in the week because I was ill, so I don't get it tomorrow =((. Oh welly! Awww, that's so awesome how you guys met! I really want to see a picture of you and your family! I bet you're like the annoyingly hot family =p. |
So far October has sucked. It is TOM and there are some really really hard things that i have had to deal with today. Haven't eaten to well but I have been really active and have burned some calories that way. I think I'm not going to beat myself up and just take it easy for the rest of the day.
|
Munster - That's sweet how you guys met, it's nice to have so much in common with your DH :)
Thinner - TOM is almost here for me too, which means I won't be weighing myself for about a week. Kind of disappointing, I like to be able to track my progress. Rie - I checked out your blog, your progress is amazing! You can really see the difference that 16lbs makes, keep up the great work ;) |
It feels like a PERFECT fall morning outside today! As a Michigan native, it sometimes drives me nuts how warm it is in the fall in NC. I generally love the weather here (and most things about this area!) but autumn is my favorite season - and it seems like it takes forever to get here, and then it doesn't last long! This will make me sound like a 5 year old, but in addition to the cool crisp air I just LOVE walking around on crunchy leaves.
I headed into work early this morning - just had to run a few thing in my lab - and on the way home I treated myself to a grande decaf nonfat no whip pumpkin spice latte. I let myself have 1/week (they're my vice in the fall) - and I haven't had any the past two weeks! I'm gonna spend the next couple of hours working on my lectures for this week - as a grad student I'm teaching a 200-level psych class. And after spin today, I might go to the mall and do a little bit of shopping! :) |
I love that you opened the thread for the whole month, Rie! I was going to suggest it, I don't know why but I like them threads bigger :)
So, whats going on with me: I got sick in the worst moment, so when I got better and got out of bed I spent three days standing in lines in order to collect all the documents and papers n stuff I needed to get done before college, I spent Thu,Fri and Sat mostly away from home and that resulted in not the perfect eating. In fact, I had a bowl of popcorn on Friday night, which resulted in only 0.6lbs loss on my official weigh-in on Oct 1st. It was only water weight luckily, I'm already 2 lbs lighter this morning. Tomorrow is first day of college...the panic is gone and now I'm excited!!! New people, subjects I love, five years of school, hopefully moving to the dorms next year...it's going to be legen - wait for it - dary!(just started getting hooked to HIMYM, can't believe I haven't discovered this show before!). This is my battle plan for the next period: - continue counting steps and trying to get to at least 7.500 per day - continue food journal & byo lunch to school - continue visiting 3fc & fitblr comunities daily, keep being positive - squeeze at least 3 workouts weekly, of at least 20 minutes - and be a bit more dedicated to this then previous 10 days And I am sticking to this as long as I am losing at least 1 pound every 10 days. My motto: ˝Do as little (or as much) as it takes you to get the results that you want˝(Tom Venuto says this many times in BFFM). Next weigh in: Oct 10th, goal 173.0lbs On to personals :) Rie good for you for beind mind over matter in that moment of weakness! I don't know much about Subway (there is none in my country) but I know it's the good guy compared to McDonalds, so you couldn't do much damage there! I'm rooting for you to see those 160's tomorrow! Munster glad you're having more free time with your hubby back at home! We know you were busy last week :) Raven hey, what kind of lab are you working in? Labs always seem interesting to me...guess I'm a bit nerdy :P Seems like you're having a nice autumn day! |
hotHealthy I work in a neuroscience lab with a focus on addiction studies. It's pretty interesting!
Also, I LOVE the HIMYM reference. I'm SO hooked on that show - I recently discovered it too! |
Great to see some new faces post here =).
My official weigh in was 170 lbs yesterday, but I've still been hobbling around the 171/170 mark. When I see that 169 I will do the carrot dance! It's quite frustrating because I've been working my a$$ off with Insanity but I know what my problem is: I don't drink enough water and when I'm at work I don't have time to keep up with the Insanity nutrition guide. Unfortunately, work does get in the way of my eating, since I'm supposed to eat 5 times a day and have seen some amazing results when I have had time to do that, but there's not much I can do about that! I went to a pub last night to meet a friend and I always get tempted to get a desert with her, but I resisted! So that was a good moment. Today I'm watching Warrior with a friend and we're going for a meal at a Mexican afterwards. I'll be in the cinema most of the afternoon so I might take my own packed lunch! The Mexican will just have to be a treat =p. Missy - Thank you! My progress is starting to not be that noticeable, but when I scroll up and see my pudge at 186 lbs it inspires me to keep going!! One day there won't be any belly to be seen from the side!! Midnight - I love autumn too! I just love the weather when it's cool and you can wrap up warm and go walking. Walking in crunchy leaves is definitely one of my favourite things to do too ;p. I think my weight gets in the way of me truly enjoying summer, because I can't look good in all the skimpy outfits, so when autumn comes around and wearing jackets and coats come in I'm all over that! Hope you had fun shopping, always good to treat yourself =). HH4L - Sounds like you've got the right mindset for your new action plan, and I'm so happy that you're excited for college! Definitely enjoy it, and stay focused on your studies but also your health. It's extremely easy to forget about your health at college and just eat crap, but if you're serious about the weight loss then you'll do it! Subway is definitely better than McDonalds and other fast food outlets, but it's not really "healthy" either because I'm sure their products are not fresh. I also go for the most unhealthy sub, but it tastes so good! But yeah, you're right, definitely better than going to McDonalds!! |
Completed Day 15 of Insanity today which means another Fit Test! Here are my results (first number is day 1, second number is day 15):
Switch Kicks: 46 - 55 Power Jacks: 39 - 42 Power Knees: 60 - 85 Power Jumps: 22 - 28 Globe Jumps: 6 - 10 Suicide Jumps: 7 - 12 Push-Up Jacks: 16 - 20 Low Plank Oblique: 36 - 45 Yay for improvement!! |
Riestrella congrats on the improvement!
On the bus on the way home now... Was in the lab yesterday and before 7am today. Decided to head home at noon to catch up errands (ugh), deal with my leasing office (ugh), then spend some time doing some reading and writing from home - with the windows open, a cup of herbal tea, and two furry kitties to keep me company. I also think I am going to surprise my bf with a pot of homemade vegetable barley soup when he gets home! :) |
Hey Girls!
So today has started off well! I got my Insanity workout in, and I love it when I get that out of the way first thing lol! Baby girl woke up late, so I was in a super rush to get both LOs ready for the gym but when I got there the girl I train wasn't going to work out today :(. I am fine to work out on my own but I have to admit it is more fun when I have someone else to do it with lol! So I basically kicked my own but for an hour or so after doing an hour of Insanity :dizzy:. Now I am having snack (double fiber dry toast and a protein bar) with DS (he has a yogurt and a banana lol) and hanging out while DD takes a nap. I have soccer practice tonight so I think I will play with the girls some too (I know so much working out, but man I want to get close to those 140s this week!) since it is soooooooo fun! Hope we all had a good weekend staying OP and working out! Rie-I know, some times I have to use my laptop too, since some of my dvds for some reason don't work on my xbox 360. I hook up my laptop to my TV though as a projector and then it works on my TV :D. Hey, free Subway is something I wouldn't pass up either! It can work in the plan as long as you track it and then make sure you keep your cals down (I guess it depends on what you got too ;)). I am so excited for you, you are doing so great on Insanity! I know that it must be hard to get the eating down when you work like you do, and I can tell you that it really does help with the results. You just have to try to do it when you can, and realize that you are still going to be in kick butt shape! On the Fit Test front, great job! You had soooooooooo much improvement yay!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep working, keep pushing, YOU CAN DO IT...lol! thinner-I'm sorry about TOM, that is always a bummer lol! I think that we all have different weight problems around that time, and you just have deal with it in whatever way will be comfortable lol! Missy-Thanks! We do have a TON in common lol! It helps so much when you are married when you are usually on the same page haha! Midnight-YUM pumpkin spice lol! I LOVE pumpkin anything at this time of year lol, I am going to have to abstain like crazy this year so I don't sabotage my weight loss :). Good job on only having one in the last 2 weeks, that's awesome! HH4L-Thanks, it was nice to have a little bit of time together, last week was seriously nuts :dizzy:. I think that your resolutions for yourself are great. Those are realistic, reachable goals that seem to be right in line for what you are trying to do. I totally feel you on the popcorn thing, I have learned NEVER to eat salty anything the day before weigh in lol! Glad you are back down 2 lbs, keep going girl! Okay girls, I am done, and I am going to chill out for a little bit before baby girl wakes up from her nap. Hope we all have an amazing OP day! |
Another busy last few days for me. I was formally observed today by my university supervisor. I had to teach a lesson and was graded on it. It actually went REALLY well. I got 15 out of 16 points! Anyway, getting in the gym tomorrow morning before class. I will be on Day 3 of Week 3 of c25k! Woohoo! I never thought I would love that program so much, but I do. I love working toward a goal. I have heard there is a couch to 10k out there too. I may have to try that when I get finished with this 5k one. My clothes are getting too big, but I'm in between sizes. 18's are getting baggy, but 16's are still too tight to be comfortable. I can get them zipped and buttoned but they are just tighter than I like. DD cut a tooth the other day! Her very first one! And she rolled over from back to front today! My little baby is getting so big so fast. :(
Munster - Still the workout queen, I see. Haha!! You will be down where you need to be in no time! :) Midnight - What kind of herbal tea do you drink? Riestrella - Way to go on those numbers!! My water intake has significantly dropped since my classes started. I believe my weight-loss has slowed because of that too. HH4L - Great goals you got there, miss lady! I am looking forward to seeing you meeting every single one. :) I know you can do it. |
sgreg - I drink a TON of tea. I gave up caffeine in April 2010 (and have almost completely gotten rid of my migraines!) so I try as much caffeine free tea as I can.
I had some apple cinnamon this morning, and then this afternoon some Unity tea - it's my latest obsession. I got it from Zingerman's Deli when I was visiting Ann Arbor... it has a crazy combination of flavors:cardamom, lemongrass, peppermint, licorice, citrus essences and a bit of black pepper. It's sweet and spicy - hard to describe. But downright delicious! |
Hi everyone...Hope you don't mind me jumping in.
It's my weekend and I always fall off the wagon on my weekend. So to stop this year long cycle, I'm doing everything possible to not munch. My DF is napping and alone with no one to keep a eye on me, I'm staying on 3FC to keep from wandering mindlessly in the kitchen. Drinking lots of water to stay hydrated. and I'm trying to think of something to do to keep me busy. |
Sakai -You can do it! Joining the chat is a great distraction!!
Midnight - Hmm...that sounds interesting. I will have to see if I can find it so I can try it. I love trying new things...especially things that are good for me. I haven't had a good cup of tea in a while. :) |
thanks munster it has gotten a lot better and i'm very comfortable now! :-) you all are an inspiration
|
Good morning everyone!
Things got a bit out of hand last night when my DF decided to play bartender and got be a bit tipsy on an nearly empty stomach (okay a lot tipsy) i had enough mind to down lots of water so after a two hour nap I feel great. We did mindlessly munch a little but my weight this morning stayed the same so I'm estactic about that. Veggie burgers w/ sprouts to dinner tonight. MidnightRaven- I LOVE tea. herbal tea is the best. Though I find it hard to enjoy it without sugar or honey. Without it all I taste is some off flavored water. it's almost like adding salt to taste your food. @.@ maybe I'm strange. Republic of Tea has some amazing tea, they are so Yummie! |
Sakai - I have to sweeten my tea too...I use splenda. :)
|
Raven, wow neuroscience...That has to be interesting, brain is such a mysterious thing.... I love tea, but it rarely occurs to me to prepare it... right now I am drinking vanilla flavored green tea with some milk in it, it tastes amazing and has only like 40kCal (from milk). Hope you're doing good!
Rie, that's quite an improvement on fit test! Way to go! Yay for resisting the dessert! Munster, you kick *** as usual! Thanks! My plan is really modest, but I have to figure out how to manage my time and I'll start working harder once I figure out how to organize around college schedule. Sgregg, everything seems to be going smooth! Congrats on the good grade! You'll be in those 16's in no time! It must feel really good going down in clothing size! Sakai welcome! So...I am exhausted. It is not that demanding, but after a whole summer break, it'll take me some time to get used to sit and listen 5-6 hours of teaching. Also getting up early will take time to adjust too :dizzy: Today I set my alarm at 5:45am and when I got out of the house at 6:30 it was still dark and foggy.... I am going way over my daily steps goal :) Around 12.000 a day so that's good, but I don't think I will add the exercising before weekend. Food is okay.... a bit unregular but it'll all get better once I get used to my new daily routine. So that's it... nothing special to write, it's a bit past 8pm here, but I am already sleepy...will go to bed soon. Have a nice day everyone! |
Hey guys. :) Joining in... hope you don't mind.
Food-wise and excersize-wise... doing awesome. :D However... a friend has just successfully made me feel completely unwanted and absolute crap. I just don't get where it's coming from though...? This is our text conversation (between me and C, L was standing right next to me the entire time). I texted her about dinner tonight... for the past week I've been excluded from group activities among these group of friends... didn't know why... so I thought I'd ask. And L told me to ask C. Me: Well... L just told me yall were getting dinner... What am I???? Chopped liver??? :) C: She and I are trying to have date nights. Me: :( *feels very left out* C: Srry Me: Can i go??? :( C: not today (L had just told me that I could come mind you... but since C was setting it up... that was that. But I was curious as to why I wasn't invited...) Me: Why??? C: Because Me: Because why? C: Because it as already planned. (this next one was probably where I might have crossed her line... but I didn't mean it to be rude... then again... she might not have meant the next stuff to be rude either... it just... to me... came out of nowhere) Me: :( Why can't plans be changed? C: Because we don't want you to come. (Note... L is a part of the "we", and she said nothing of the sort) Me: Ouch C: Sry. But sometimes you are a bit hard to handle. (not sure where that's coming from... ??) Me: ??? Again... Ouch. C: I really am sorry. Me: Sure. If y'all wanted time alone to talk, that's fine. Just say so. No need to critisize me. C: Not critisizing. Just stating a fact. Don't take it so personally. Please. (Ok... you just said I'm hard to handle and that you don't want me to come... and that's it... how else am I supposed to take it?) Me: Sorry, but why did you have to make it all about it being my "bad" characteristics...? I just asked why... and then I was joking around... no need to be rude. C: Whatever. obviously this isn't going to go well. Forget it. Me: I will. Sorry to bother you. urgh... I just... I don't get where this is coming from. I'm not always asking her to hang out, to do this or that... I'm not clingy... I'm not mean... at least... I don't think I am. And now I feel like sh** and am having strong urges to SI again... which I won't give in and do... but yeah. It's probably my own fault... or she's just in a bad mood. But really? Thanks for taking it out on me. *sigh* I dunno... |
Hi all! I've been reading all your posts, but feel a bit overwhelmed about doing loads of personals right now!
I've been stalling this week in terms of my loss, but I'm not getting too disheartened, just keep pushing forward! I know what I need to do, so just need to do it! Insanity Day 16 is done, 44 to go! If y'all haven't seen the film Warrior yet, you should go see it - IT WAS AWESOME. http://screencrave.frsucrave.netdna-...3-10-11-kc.jpg Had a chat with the boyfriend the other night, was feeling a bit left behind in his plans for the future. But he reassured me, told me everything was fine and he wanted me with him in his future because he loves me - just takes the small things like that to make me feel better =). Been applying for ALT jobs for Japan, got through to the second stage of Interac, just need to call them about a phone interview and then if I'm successful with that I need to go to an interview/seminar. Kinda crazy that it's happening, I feel like I'm quite settled into my life now but it'll be a good change! That's about all I have to rant about! Serbrider - Do you mind me asking how old you all are? Because this sounds so very immature! Honestly, they don't sound like amazing friends. Spend your time around people who actually want your company and don't want to pick and choose when to talk to you. |
18... so that easily could be why. It just really took me by surprise... she hadn't ever acted this way before... through texts or in person... so yeah... I dunno.
You're going to japan??? :D Awesome!! And as for warrior... I make it a habit not to watch movies about boxing or sports in general... all are the same... but... if you really recommend it... :) |
Quote:
I'm not trying to pat you on your head because you're 18 or anything, but seriously - it's time to surround yourself with people who matter to you and filter out the sh!tty people in your life. She sounds like one of em. I am indeed going to Japan for 1 year =). Should be interesting!! Oh no, it's more than just fighting, the story line is actually great and it just enhances your enjoyment of the action scenes. |
Good Evening Ladies!
Okay small rant coming...WARNING! This morning I was way too tired to bust out with Shaun T because of DD waking up at 330am and then I didn't go back to sleep. That is DEFINITELY NOT a wake up time lol! So, I went to the gym with the LOs instead and did about 10 minutes of cardio until I had to go into the kids club and change a dirty diaper :o. Then I only had a few minutes left before I had to get into Pilates class (I was going to switch my Shaun T workouts around so I was going to do abs today instead of tomorrow). So, I FINALLY get around to Shaun T after bad naps, dirty diapers ALL day (seriously how much poo can one tiny little girl make?), teething, preschool, AND making dinner...AND THEN THE DVD STARTS SKIPPING LIKE CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY?! WTH?! DS then says, "oh mommy, look Insanity isn't working" :o:?: really son? HAHA! That brought me down a little bit, so I did the parts that were working and DH said he had some stuff at school that he could use to repair the DVD. GRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrr :mad::mad:. After that I decided I didn't get enough cardio in, so I took my anger out at the ARC trainer, the treadmill, and the Jacob's Ladder at the gym about an hour ago lol! So that was workout #3 for me today because it was all so inefficient! Okay, rant over sorry about that! Hope you guys all had a better day for working out than me lol! :dizzy: sgregg-Oh boy I remember those "formal" observations lol! What a pain! My university made me write these insanely long, completely pointless lesson plans for them, something no actual teacher would ever be able to do unless there were 89 hours in a day lol! Great job! Keep up the exercise, you can do it! Thanks for the encouragement, I need it right now. I really want to see those 140s so badly because then I have so little left! I can't wait, although I really want to be able to see my abs again more than I want to hit goal lol! Midnight-Your tea sounds AMAZING! I need to find some of that where I live lol! Thinner-There are so many inspirational people on this site, it has really helped me when I started my weight loss in June/July. Stick with us! I am glad that you are doing better :). Sakai-YAY for weight maintaining after fun nights lol! That is always a plus added to the fun :D. HH4L-Thanks :D. I love working out so much, and it is so much better when you are actually in good shape lol! I think you deserve to tell yourself how great you are doing, it's paying off! Oh, I remember how exhausting it is to sit for hours and hours of science lecture. Are you an Anatomy and Physiology major (pre-Pharm of course). That is how it was here for the pre-Pharm people. I was pre-Med, so I feel your pain lol! Stick with it and your butt will get used to the chairs, your hands to typing/writing, your eyes to straining, and your back to cracking lol! Serbrider-Hang in there sweetie! I agree with Rie, I think that maybe they might be a tad immature. Your friends should WANT to be with you, it's why they are your friends :o. Hope it gets better soon! Rie-Great job on getting into the teens on Insanity lol! I am excited for you about heading to Japan :D. I hope that you and the BF really grow in this experience. I think that you are doing so many positive things in your life and your weight loss is going so well! Keep working, you are on your way to everything you want! Okay ladies, that's it for me, I am going to relax now and hang out with DH. Have a great night! |
Hey ladies, I'm still around! Crazy busy at work catching up after vacation. I'll reply to personals tomorrow and an update in the AM! I had full intention of doing it now, but I'm in bed and the pillow is luring me to the depths of sleep!
|
Hey all!
Scales are starting to annoy me now, been weighing more on the 171 lbs than anything else!! I think I'm just annoyed because I'm SO CLOSE to the 160s, it almost feels like my body is toying with me! *sigh* Better just eat right and keep going! munster - Oh dear, that sounds like quite a hectic day!! But at least you vented out your rage at the gym!! Seriously, your exercising mentality is incredible, I know a lot of people who would have used it as an excuse to just be lazy but not you!! My Mum was once going to go to the gym then came home because she forgot her iPod -_-. *sigh*. Aww, thank you for the support! Sometimes I get a bit nervous about going to Japan but then people keep saying how amazing it'll be and it makes me that little bit more pumped to get over there! And it will be amazing to finally live with the BF and have a life we've both wanted for ourselves for a long time. Also, I have digital copies of Insanity, if you want I can find a way to send them to you and you can put it on a USB stick and play it through your Xbox that way. Because you mentioned some other workouts skipping too? Let me know! Mande - Yaay, you're back! Nice to see you! |
Oh, let's not talk about scales...ugh! I got on this morning and it was not good at all. :( I'm sure I'm holding on to some water since TOM will be starting soon and water intake has been an epic failure.
munster - Yes, those lesson plans suck!! I had to do a 5-day lesson plan and it's probably 20-something pages long. Sorry you had a bad day, but look on the good side, you got some form of exercise in (and a lot more than what I normally do in a day)...it's a lot better than nothing at all. ;) Riestrella - So, you are definitely going to Japan?? That's awesome! Serbrider - I agree with Rie...very immature. You definitely do not need to waste your time on people who do not want your friendship and consider your needs/wants as well. Friendship is a two-way street. I'm sorry that you are having to deal with that though. I know it sucks. :( HH4L - Getting in the groove of college definitely takes some getting used to, but you will get it in no time. Way to go on your steps!! That's awesome!! |
Munster: Man, what a day! Way to completely overcome those obstacles, tres determination :).
Sakai: Welcome to the chat! Are you a fellow veginator? I'm a huge fan of 'fake' - facon, feef, nausage... LOVE IT! Also, since cutting out red meet from my diet, my joints LOVE me :). Shauna: I used to use Splenda, but I found an alternative that doesn't have some of the funny side effects (like water retention), Stevia. It tastes a bit sweeter, so I use half a packet, and haven't found anything in its market that packs cup for cup with sugar or spenda for baking (sad face). HH4L: 5:45 am? *shudder* I draw the line at 6 (with room to snooze for an hour, lol). Going into winter, it was still dark when I dragged my bum out of bed for 7:00 am, lol. You can do it! Serbrider: Hear, hear! I agree with the ladies. In all honesty, we do most of our personal growth between the ages of 18 and 25, and the odds of you being friends with this person at 25 even if you do get alone are fairly slim (but has been known to happen). It sounds to me like she didn't appreciate you enough to have provided you this feedback at the time she discovered it, and has been harbouring/hiding it. You don't need to put up with that. You're out of highschool now, and instead of having 200 people to pick friends from, you now have 3 billion :). The water is warm, jump in! Rie: OMGOODNESS, that is awesome!!! And as for the scale, it can stuff itself lol. You will get there before you know it! Not a huge update. Kept on track with exercise and diet, and it finally paid off. Weighed in yesterday at 17 Lbs down, woo! The beautiful thing now is the habits are rebuilt. Some work stress, bawled my eyes out to some peers who are now supporting me with some of my employees, so it should get better from there. The DW is not feeling so hot today, so we're going to kind of just mellow tonight. Oh, and it's my Friday, which means sleeping in a bit tomorrow! I know I missed people, and that makes me super lame, but you know I love ya! I'm so far behind on personals that I figured I'd just jump back in on page two. Consider my ninja coached! |
Hi everyone!
well it seems as though my fun night caught up to me today. I gained 2.2 pounds. But! a 2 pound gain over me weekend is crazy good. :D a 0 pound gain would be amaing but 2 pounds is better than five or six... like normal. So I'll take 2 pounds anyday. I'm nervious about this week though, we have a short work week and a long weekend. (3 days work, 4 days off) The more days away from my active job, the more I'm sure I'm going to gain. Plus we're going to the fair on saturday. @.@ all those yummy fried goodies and fatty foods and sugary drinks everywhere. I'm going to try and be strong by eating before we go so I won't be tempted. I know the fair is a once in a year thing, but with those 2 extra days away from work, I don't want to undo everything I've done so far. Serbrider There is one thing I've learned from chatting with friends via text/chat...typed words will sound so much different than if they said it to your face. (or even over the phone) You don't know the tone that was being used, or the body language. reading words off a screen always adds a bit of harshness i always thought. And yet she was beating around the bush. she might of just wanted to be alone with the other friend to talk about something important or personal to her. She could of just said so and let it drop. (I'm sure you would have too) You're around the age where your gonna realize the dangers of toxic friendships. what's mor important than the quanity of friendship is the quality of said friendships. Some friends will not make the cut. And prepare yourself to be friend-dumped as well. as we get older the more and more we understand what our friendships bring to the table. Some friends might be great people...but don't bring what we need for our happy, social personalities. munstermommy crazy day!! You are stonger than i am. i for one would have given up after failed attempt 2. Fate just didn't want me to work out today. But you did good! Riestrella I know how you feel. I've been stuck at the 230's for the past year...it's driving me nuts :dizzy: not giving up though... edit: Mandelea Yes! I Love meat but I know it's not great for me. so the fake meats help me keep on track. burgers, Vegandogs (taste just like normal hot dogs @.@) chic'ken, ect. My longest streak is 70 days with no meat. Then I took a few months off. (bad idea) I'm back on now. day 20 I think. |
MandeLea - I didn't know Splenda had that side effect!! Thanks for the info. I have had Stevia before and yes it is a lot sweeter. I do like that I can buy a big bag of Splenda though. It lasts so much longer than those little packets. I don't use it for baking though. Just for sweetening coffee or tea.
Sakai - I don't see how anyone thinks fair food is yummy....hahaha!! Its just way too greasy for me. lol! |
Hey Ladies!
Okay so today went a little better, although wasn't feeling so hot last night so I didn't keep my date with Shaun T until this afternoon lol! Did a light gym workout today because of the yuckies from yesterday and I feel much better now! Have weigh in tomorrow morning :p which I am not looking forward to. I know that AF should be showing her face any time and I always have water retention which sucks! I am drowning myself right now and am hoping that I can counteract it just for tomorrow lol! Did measurements a few days ago and I lost another inch in the hips! Yesssssssssssssssss! I still have about 2 to go in the waist, and 2 to go in the hips before I get back to where I want to be, but I am "inching" closer haha! I hope that we all have a great Thursday, omg so much closer to the weekend I can't wait! Rie-OMG that would be AMAZING!!!! This is what I get for buying my copies off of ebay :?:. The only ones I really have issues with are the Max Cardio Conditioning and Max Recovery. It is really frustrating lol! I will be mid Power Jump...and then BOOM! Gone! GRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrr lol! Anyway if you wouldn't mind that would be so great :D. I know how well you are doing, don't worry about the stall, you will kick it soon enough trust me! Keep working, oh and don't worry about missing a workout, as long as you make it up you are fine (from the other thread lol!). sgregg-Seriously why do they feel the need to know EVERY rationale behind EVERY classroom decision? I know it is so that THEY KNOW you are prepared to take over a classroom but really, it sucks to write lol! Poo for TOM lol! I feel you on that one :(. Oh well, just pick it up again and keep trying! Mande-Thanks! :p. I had one heck of a day (for me anyway lol!). I have to get it in otherwise I just feel blah haha! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT 17 lbs??????!!!!!!!! WOW that is AMAZING!!!! Great job :D. Keep it up girl you are kicking butt lol! Yay for Fridays lol, I can't wait for mine to come around. I hope that you get to sleep in and have a great and relaxing day, we are glad you are back :D. Sakai-You don't know yet how much of that might be water weight, so it might even be less than that! It sounds like you did better than usual so YAY YOU!!!! Stick with it, you will get where you want to be if you keep up that will power! On the fair end, maybe try drinking a CRAP load of water before and while you are there after you eat. I know that keeps my stomach super full between meals and helps to hydrate you so that IF you decide to have a treat you don't retain water like crazy :dizzy:. Good luck with the long weekend, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!! Ladies, here is to a great weigh in for everyone who hasn't done it yet lol! I will update you tomorrow on how it goes! I'm scared lol! |
Herro!
I had an amazing night with my friends last night, we went for a meal at a pub and had a few cokes (naughty of me, but it is a treat when I go out!), and I ended up having a burger. I don't care how bad it was for me IT WAS DELICIOUS. After thinking about my situation right now with my weight, I think I'm developing early time of the month signs. I'm going to be starting the pill on the 17th (I've timed it so I'm not on my period for when I visit the BF in February, hah!) for the purpose of controlling my periods. The last 4 months I've developed signs way too early, then the period itself has lasted for a maximum of 2 weeks. It feels like I'm constantly on my period! So I'm hoping the pill will sort me out. After last night the scales were at 172 lbs, but I know exactly why - lack of water, coke and big a$$ burger in my system. Today I'm going to do my Insanity workout, but instead of doing the recovery video I'm going to do the intense Pure Cardio with Cardio Abs to make up for my half arsed effort yesterday! I ran out of time and just did Cardio Abs but it's really not that long. I didn't try as hard either. So I'll make up for it today! I'm also going to eat good healthy food today and drink plenty of water to clean my system. I'm not sure if I'll see 169 lbs by Sunday, but I'm hoping to get back to 170 lbs! sgregg - I think I'm holding onto water too, darn our womanly bodies! And yes, Japan is official =). Just need to get a job first! Hehe. Mande - 17 LBS?! OH MY GOOSE THAT'S AWESOME! Well done!! So happy that you've made a healthy lifestyle a natural part of your day to day life, I think that's the most important thing!! Hope work gets better for you  Sakai - How are you trying to lose weight? Because cheat weekends don't seem to be working if you've been stuck in the 230s for a year!! You might need to start re-evaluating how you're trying to lose weight and commit. munster - Oh man, I feel Aunt Flow is on her way too...and it's too soon! I swear I get the signs about 2 weeks earlier. Hunger, zits, weight gain, and because it's too early I think I'm doing something wrong! I think we'll have to set up a Dropbox account for you (I can invite you to it if you PM your email address) and I can put in the Insanity work outs you need. Dropbox is basically like a sharing programme, completely legit and safe I use it with loads of my friends. |
Riestrella - I try not the cheat on weekends. But I find myself so bored that I eat ( I don't want to go as far as say binge...But once I start I don't really stop, I just have to nibble everything or go get something to nibble)
Being a overnight worker, I'm up all night on my weekends and it's easy for me to get bored. I don't know why boredom = eating. :?: I use tricks like gum and such to keep my mouth busy without really eating something. it works most of the time. I don't really believe in cheating for a full day (or weekend) but I guess I do because I eat things (or amounts) that I normally wouldn't. I think I might get a little cabin fever? stuck in the house all night. I love to go on walks but i only do so if DF comes with me. (Because I ain't going for a walk in the middle of the night alone @.@ ) But you're right...I do need to commit. ... . . .. Today I had two bowls of broccoli soup for lunch. It was a lot of soup...but it was only 80 cals per bowl. Sodium sucked though, so I'm gonna down lots of water. Plus TOM is just around the corner and I always gain some water weight and I'm sure it will help with that. |
Hey Girls!
So weigh in today, got to move the ticker down to 151! I know that TOM is coming in the next day or so, and my rings are still crazy tight so I AM EXCITED! I am retaining water like crazy, TOM is almost here, and I LOST A POUND! I am really hoping that means that I will hit the 140s next week for weigh in because I ususally maintain or gain about 1-2 lbs during this portion of the month :(. YAY woohoo lol! Had Insanity Recovery day today, and then hit the gym for Pilates :D. I love the way I feel when I finish Pilates, I just feel so much looser and I KNOW my core is getting stronger/tighter. I hope that you ladies are all having a great morning, today is a preschool day (woohoo break time for mommy lol!) and DD is taking a nap while DS and I have a snack, life is good today! Oops, DS just fell off his bike I will come back for personals later :(. |
So, days are passing by more quickly now that I have new obligations, but I am getting close to being 3 weeks on plan! Not perfectly of course, but consistency is the key! I'm meeting so many new people and I'm learning all those interesting stuff...all in all, I'm in a new surrounding. And that makes me want to push harder on my goals, one of them being getting fit and melting off the extra fat. Old friends, old circles are comfortable but being in these new ones, I have to prove myself and show myself as the person I want to be and as a person I am. And I am a fit, athletic person, inside I am, although it's not yet visible from the outside. I'm developing a new eating pattern, and I'm still deciding on that, but I am definitely adding exercising starting this Saturday. I want to get my body in shape and I want it bad. And I'm doing it.
Sorry about not doing personals today! Just wanted to check in, will catch up with you all on the weekend! :) |
Sakai: Mmm nomiful foods, lol. We usually don't do meat more than once a week consistently, sometimes more, sometimes less. More often less for me. Less is more! I don't usually wind up successful if I deprive myself of things I love, so try to decided before you go what you want to eat from the carnival, and have that. It also helps me to look up calories of those foods (like when I want a delicious terribly burger from Wendy's), so I can make a choice on the side of my willpower, and not what I feel I have to do (doing what we're told is so lame and boring!). Good luck and have fun! Also, have you thought about taking up a hobby (my favourites are knitting and World of Warcraft, lol). They keep my hands busy so I don't smoke or eat as much.
Shauna: If it's for sweetening drinks, I wouldn't sweat it. It's more when you have large quantities (I found I was retaining a ton of water from drinking a lot of diet pop, and that is how I found out this handy little fact ;). Now I sweeten with Stevia or honey). Munster: WAY TO GO, GIRL!!! That means you most likely lost more, and that is freaking fantastic!!!!! Glad your day went better today :). Eep, I hope the little guys is okay! Rie: I had very similar issues. In fact, I just had a visit from AF this past week, and finished up yesterday... For the first time in a year, lol. I know it's related to weight gain, and is coming back after weight loss. I also have PCOS which can cause major irregularities. If the pill doesn't work, as your doc about metformin, and see if it's a viable and safe option for you. HH4L: You go girl! I love that you are taking this opportunity to reinvent yourself into the true person you are inside and how you want to be outside. Declarations are really powerful statements. Saying them out loud to people makes me remember my goal, why I chose that goal, and always makes me think twice before I do something to jeopardize my goal. I absolutely love it. And you are going to be there in no time! Good work on staying on top of the lifestyle choices! You go! Not much to report here. Just finished 40 minutes of Turbo Jam and sweating my (literal) butt off, haha. Ohhh, funny story! I work as a supervisor for a major telecommunications provider (TV, internet, phone, and satellite) in western Canada (Shaw), on the satellite side of things. So.. there was an X-factor solar flare on the sun that caused our Anik F2 satellite to move out of orbit (so it's beaming it's satellite signals at the sun instead of the earth) and has caused us to lose ALL channels on that satellite (we have two, Anik F1 and Anik F2). ALOT of people have lost their french programming (a huge deal in the east) and their sports, like NHL Center Ice and NFL Sunday Ticket. Am I GLAD I wasn't at work today, LOL! I guess they're going to use the jet that was originally meant to propel it out of orbit when we're done to try and propel it back into orbit. If not, I suppose we're launching our G1 satellite sooner than we anticipated! What a crazy world this is, and while I'm not a conspiracy nut or anything like that, I do believe the earth and natural disasters are reacting to what we do to our home. The many reasons why I recycle, sweep carpet instead of vacuum, and try to lose less packaging among other things. Le sigh! |
Ooo, also, was there anyone that hadn't posted their picture in September, but still wanted to? I'm curious about the other faces!!
