Frustration

  • Perhaps your doctor could recommend you to a nutritionist... someone to help you figure out what you need to do to get rolling again.
  • Maybe. I have to wait until my new insurance kicks in. The bad part, I have a $500 deductible, and lab work is expensive.

There is no reason that if everything were functioning the way it was supposed to be I would still be this weight. Not with as much as I'm working out and the way I am eating.
  • Lnm how are you tracking your calories burnt? When you listed your exercise by day the only day that I would think you'd burn anywhere near 1000 calories is the day that you do Zumba and maybe the agility/steps/bands if you did it for an hour or more...30 day shred only burns between 150-200 calories for me, and weights burn about that much over the course of an hour if I'm working large muscle groups.

Are you entering your exercise into Myfitnesspal as well under 'cardio?' When you do that, it adds to your daily allowance...are you eating those calories back? Are you weighing everything that you eat that needs to be weighed in order to be sure that you have the right calorie count?

For example my daily allowance is 1200, when I run for an hour straight I burn 450 calories, which brings up my daily allowance to 1650. I will usually only eat half of my exercise calories as my pre and post workout protein snacks, so I consume a net 1425 calories per day that I run for an hour. If you were really only consuming 1300 calories per day and then burning 1000 of them off, your body would be in pretty sad shape!
  • I'd agree with several others - try to increase your calorie intake. (Counter-intuitive, I know, but it sounds like you're working out a LOT and your body is craving more calories.) One easy way to do that would be to add some healthy oils (which in themselves may also speed along your weight loss!) Try roasting veggies in olive oil or incorporating salmon and other Omega-3 foods in your diet. I've done the olive oil trick when hitting plateus and it works like a charm. I'll usually make a fresh herb/olive oil pesto or eat some baguette bread dipped in tarragon infused olive oil with black pepper & salt.
  • I do eat back my calories, usually half. I use a heart rate monitor with a chest strap. I measure food, I cook with olive oil. When I work out, it is generally for an hour. The 30 Day Shred (which lasted all of 4 days) was the 30 minutes. I take my vitamins (fish oil, multi, cinnamon, psyllium).

I've tried the zigzag, I've been eating back my calories, I've increased my veggies, continued to monitor my sodium. I increased my cardio.

I really don't know what else to try. I've been the exact same weight since April.
  • Well, here's a long shot... try changing the batteries on your scale. It has been the cause of unexplained lack of weight loss before.
  • I'll give it a shot, but I've had it less than a year. I'll try anything (within reason) right now!

I'll fluctuate a little, a pound up, then back down. It all depends on my sodium from the previous day or the workout from the previous day. But always end up right back at 162.
