~~~Weekly Chat June13th-19th~~~
Yay, I get to start this weeks thread!
I'm very happy this morning because I just ran 10:1s! It's wasn't too hard, but it wasn't easy.
Next, I'm going to increase the distance until I get to 3 miles, that shouldn't take too long.
FatPantsSkinnyJeans 06-13-2011 11:37 AM
Go Julia, go!
Ferumbras, I am so sorry about your bikes. That is such a drag. :(
I'm slowwlllyyy getting all my weekend-eating bloat off. Bleghck!
Taking my Strength class tonight with a crazy (but effective) instructor....she's made of muscle and does NOT let you cheat. It's kind of stressful but great, because you're guaranteed to put forth your best effort every time.
Time to get stuff done...
Happy Monday everyone!
FPSJ
Ferumbras 06-13-2011 02:12 PM
So I spoke with the police and they have my bike, but no word yet about my husband's. *sigh*
In better news, I bought new running shoes after getting my gait analyzed. Hopefully this'll significantly reduce the stress on my knees.
Good for you, doubting!
FPSJ: Brave of you! Have fun! :)
doubtingJulia 06-14-2011 09:13 AM
So.... yesterday I was a little bad. First of all, I skipped Yoga to watch the hockey. Which, come on, I really had no choice.
I planned on having one beer (Barking Squirrel, yummy) but then the game was going so badly and I had so much thwarted fan related stress that I got another one. And then some guy got me a tequila shot. (It was 4-0 and the end of the first period, I needed it.)
...and I also had a PBLT, but hey, Peameal Bacon is better than the regular kind, and I did get whole wheat bread.
But! I did somehow drag my butt to spinning at 6 in the morning. Even though I had this weird moment during the mountain climbing track when I zoned out and started thinking about what I was going to do for Pride week and wether I'll have to take the dog to the park this morning, I still call it a win.
krampus 06-14-2011 09:47 AM
This morning I had my third consecutive horrible crap run, and I've just felt lethargic and gross all afternoon/evening. Really hungry too, dinner was a modest sized salad because I had some "extra" at lunch.
My weight is the same as ever, can't seem to get motivated to drop under 130 ever. It's the same predictable pattern of losing and gaining the same 4 lbs week after week.
FatPantsSkinnyJeans 06-14-2011 10:20 AM
Ferumbras-- I did the sneaker fitting thing, too. Oddly enough, they ended up recommending the exact same brand I was wearing. Go figure! I actually loved them anyway, so it just confirmed I was wearing the right kind.
doubtingJulia-- I say count it as a success... primarily because I have never come close to Spinning, or any other strenuous activity for that matter, at 6am. It pretty much negates the PBLT, and it's still a superhero feat!
Krampus-- Glad to see you're still around! Do you think you've just reached your natural weight? I know you said the running lethargy might be weather related. I feel incredibly slow and sluggish when it's hot/humid out. Hopefully you can get some of your energy back, and some perspective on what your weight goals are. It seems like if you're at a point where you can eat and exercise comfortably, you're basically at maintenance. What do you think?
I have a yucky doctor's appointment today, and then many shifts of work ahead of me. Also have to smush in a 3 mile run.
Siiiigh. Crabby.
Ferumbras 06-14-2011 12:44 PM
FPSJ: I also ended up getting the same brand, but a different style and one more suited to running then the cheaper pair I already owned. I tried on several different brands that fit with my bio-mechanics and these just happened to suit me best. So I'm not complaining.
Krampus: I'm also wondering if maybe your body is telling you you're at goal?
doubtingJulia: Good for you for going to spinning today! I still find it hard to get up for a 9am class.
sweetkam 06-14-2011 12:44 PM
Good Morning Ladies!!! had agreat Monday walked on my lunch break them did zumba with the Wii. My boyfriend even did it which was halarious. I hope all of you have a great day!!!! :hug: :hug:
kgsmiles3 06-14-2011 01:31 PM
I'm super stressed this week. My 7 month old refuses to sleep at night and wakes every 2 hours..I'm a SAHM at the moment but I have some job interviews scheduled so I'm praying his sleep gets better. Surprisingly I've been able to keep active with cardio and 30 ds.
Here's to a better week
:)
KawaiiCandie 06-14-2011 09:56 PM
hey guys! omg... is this what the weekly chat thread has become?! wtf?!! i was searching for it and i had to go all the way to PAGE 2!! *shock*
well anyhow... i am back... i see very few familiar faces, but hello everyone...
i am an expat like krampus, and i wanna lose weight!
last night i did 30DS for the first time in months... omg, it was so horrible... lol. hopefully i can do it again today!
PS: where's rainbow?! i thought she'd be here forever! lol.
krampus 06-14-2011 10:07 PM
She hasn't posted in weeks and weeks - got a new job. All of 3FC is eerily quiet these days. I guess posting activity isn't quite where it is in the fall and winter when people are cooped up indoors...
Sigh, today was one of those mornings where I woke up so hungry I felt weak and felt like a supermodel. Hopped on the scale and saw I was the exact same weight as yesterday, good mood turned into p!ssy frustration. How did I do this before?
KawaiiCandie 06-15-2011 12:50 AM
right. new job. she mailed me one time asking wtf i'd gone (lol) and told be about it. well, good for her ;)
i guess only us bored ALTs are cooped indoors during the summer, eh?
aaah, i know how that feels... which is why i've decided to not weigh-in everyday this time around. i know that it totaly kills my mood for the day when i do that!!
rainbowstripe 06-15-2011 03:55 AM
I'm still around ish! Just kind of...reading occasionally and not really posting. New job has kind of taken over, that along with my art stuff I have very little free time.
I've put on a kg...after losing it. But I'm aware of the mistakes I'm making and I figure awareness is the first step to getting fully back on track right?
leslielou87 06-15-2011 09:14 AM
Hey girls IM BACK! Havent been on here since feb. Just got busy and never found time to check in! Missed all ya guys tho!! :)
FatPantsSkinnyJeans 06-15-2011 09:53 AM
omg, mini 3FC reunion! haha :)
JLNichols07 06-15-2011 10:38 AM
132.2 THIS MORNING...SHOOT ME! Going to workout today HARD..I know its mostly water weight from me binging yesterday but still i hate myself sometimes.
Ferumbras 06-15-2011 12:28 PM
This month has not been going well in terms of losing weight. Too much eating out. :(
krampus 06-15-2011 09:29 PM
132 three days in a row. I hope something happens.
sweetkam 06-15-2011 09:38 PM
hello lovleys! Today was not so good! I did go on a walk but turned into the cookie monster at work =( hopefully tomorrow will be better!
Ferumbras 06-15-2011 11:19 PM
Btw, Krampus, I love your new avatar picture!
KawaiiCandie 06-16-2011 08:15 AM
haha, it is like a mini-reunion! lol. glad to see some familiar faces still ;)
OMG JL, YOU ARE STILL HERE AND YOU ARE F*CKING TINY!!!! i can't believe how tiny you are... omg, seriously... well done girl!!
Ferumbras.... yeah, that sucks when you wanna do well and you know you'd do well by yourself, but eating out screws up all your plans :(
my week is going kinda **** too, but luckily, that's just life/work-wise and my diet has held on strong! wohoo! actually, i'm going to tokyo on the 25th and i told myself that i had to be good til AT LEAST then... lol. so that's helping.
anyhow, did day 2 of the 30DS today... cried only a bit and took a tiny tiny rest... it was better than my first day back at least. hopefully it'll be better tomorrow!!
MiZTaCCen 06-16-2011 09:16 AM
Morning ladies, Not much has been going on with my weight lately. I've lost my second job lol I'm not really surprised but don't really care much either simply because it wasn't my primary income. I didn't fit into their haggish catty backstabbing little world, so the second my manager saw a "screw" up she fired me. Which I think is pretty funny. Besides making too much money = eating out **** of a lot more which I was doing.
Now I have no excuses not to hit the gym and get this gosh darn weight down. I'm back up 4 pounds BOO! That's fine tho it's only 4 pounds lol, so now I gotta lose the last 15! I decided I can at least enjoy my summer, go home for my vacation and when sept rolls around get another part time job!
doubtingJulia 06-16-2011 09:20 AM
I'm wearing shorts today. It's a big deal.
I kind of took yesterday off exercise wise. I spent the whole afternoon trying to open the pool and the evening watching hockey and being upset about hockey. I kind of felt like going riot on the streets.
I'm gonna run this evening.
supergir111 06-16-2011 02:46 PM
Wearing shorts would be a massive deal for me too :D
First week at my new gym. Having stopped exercising early this year I am enjoying the increase in weight loss. I really need to find a better high calorie pre workout snack. I only need to eat something since lunch is usually quite a few hours before and I was starting to feel dizzy/faintish. I've been eating a serving of m&ms. I can't do peanut butter which is the only other thing I can think of hmm...
KawaiiCandie 06-16-2011 08:23 PM
hey Miz! you're still here too! :) sorry to hear about your job, but yeah, now you can workout more and go eat out less! lol.
Julia, lol, being Canadian, i think Hockey is not good for people's health... makes you too stressed out! lol. yay for short though! i've seriously never worn them... i bought a pair earlier this year, hoping i would wear them this summer, and theeeeen.... i got fat again :(
supergirl, have fun at your new gym!
yesterday i worked out again... was easier than day 1... lol. and i think i've gotten over the "binge monster", after all, they say 3 is a charm and after 3 days the sugar cravings go away... so as long as i'm good this weekend, i think i should be okay! i'm kinda cranky cuz even though it's the "beginning" of my diet, the weight is dropping off slower than usual. considering what happened the last couple of times i dieted for a week... i should be at 79kg by now, but i'm still at 81kg. fml. oh well.
FatPantsSkinnyJeans 06-16-2011 09:53 PM
Welcome back to all the returning members! I agree, it can get tough to stick to your routine (including posting) when the weather's warm and there's a BBQ around every corner. Ahhh!
I'm pretty frustrated today. I've been eating way too much this week. My exercise has been great, but the overindulging has got to stop. It hasn't even been "binges" necessarily. I'm just eating high calorie stuff, going out with friends, etc and forgetting that unless I have a calorie deficit (which means passing up these treats) I will not lose weight. Bahhh.
JLNichols
-- I'm sorry you're struggling with binges. Try and remember to be NICE to yourself, though! You'd never hate your friend for having a hard time, so there's no reason to hate yourself.
Ferumbras-- I hear ya on the eating out thing. It's rough.
Krampus-- Are your energy levels/runs getting better? Hope the scale is kind tomorrow.
sweetkam-- I'm a cookie lover too. But, onward and upward!
Kawaii-- Welcome back! I also sort of "fell off the wagon" after the holidays, and then a bunch of life stuff happened and I didn't get back on my plan until late Spring. I had to start over from square one, at the same weight. Ohhh well. Persistence, persistence.... we can do it! Remember, "it's a lifestyle change, not a diet." hahaha
Miz-- Sorry to hear about the job issues. You're right, more time to relax and enjoy the summer!
Julia-- Congrats on the shorts! For me, shorts generally = frontal wedgie... eeeew.
supergirl--Are you looking for snack ideas that you can store/won't spoil? We can do way better than M&M's! Hahaha (Ohh I love them. Especially the PB ones. Ok no more chocolate talk).
Well, I'm working the next 3 days, and I'm going to make every effort to eat only what I bring. Aiming to keep up this near daily exercise, too. I'm tired and crabby just thinking about it.
and that's my cue to go relax. :)
tty soon!
-FPSJ
krampus 06-16-2011 11:16 PM
Something happened! 129.9 this morning, first time I've seen anything like that since February or something. Pleeeease stay around for a while...!
I want to cut my belly off with a knife. Such a stubborn jerk.
FPSJ Rain = no running but I mustered up the energy to do a cardio DVD and some in-house body weight exercises yesterday, which felt great. Don't beat yourself up over some indulgences, the important thing is that you're not binging and you're enjoying life. ;)
KawaiiCandie From one former binge monster to another...way to go! I'm on Day 9 now, the longest I've gone since I started binging in March was 15 days. Hoping to blow that out of the water.
supergir111 Welcome back! Maybe try whole wheat bread or something of that nature instead of candy? Carbs + nutrition?
doubtingJulia Were there any riots in Toronto? I saw some cell phone pics snapped by a friend in Vancouver...insanity! Awesome to hear you're in shorts!!!
MiZTaCCeN Hey you glad to see you're still around! Eating out less = weighing less, there's an upside to all this!
Ferumbras Thanks! I'm sorry to hear about the bike situation and stalled weight loss, good you're still posting though. Things will pick up soon!
JLNichols Don't hate yourself, hate the sugar. You'll be back in the 120s before you know it - and even if it takes a while or doesn't happen think of all the progress you've made!
Ferumbras 06-17-2011 12:07 AM
Krampus: Well done! We're all keeping our fingers crossed for you!
Kawaii: Don't get discouraged. My body never behaves the way I think it should. Any loss is a good loss!
FPSJ: Can you pre-eat before going out, so you're not as tempted?
Got my bike back today! It had a few minor issues, but the bike shop was very nice and gave me a free tune-up. Unfortunately, there's still no word on my husband's bike.
supergir111 06-17-2011 01:07 AM
Well done on dipping back into the 120s Krampus, love your new pic btw
Thanks for the suggestions. I could have worded my thoughts a little better lol I am looking for something small and calorie dense for an after work before gym snack. Eating m&ms for energy is pure laziness on my half. This weekend I'll try to find some kind of protein/snack bar. I like nuts and seeds I do not trust myself with those in the house.
:bike: <--lol how cute (was looking through the smilies)
KawaiiCandie 06-17-2011 03:05 AM
FPSJ, *wave* hey, i guess we're in the same boat ;) but yeah, it sucks when you're eating out a lot, or even just eating normal, like, not enough to gain but still too much for a loss, and you still feel like you're trying so hard.... but like you said, we can do it!
krampus, congrats on being day 9! omg... how weird that our bingeing starts were like synchronized... i hope i can stay strong over the weekend! i may have a date ;)
Ferumbras, yay for the returned bike. and you're right. i shouldn't ***** and moan about the scale going down :p
MiZTaCCen 06-17-2011 09:03 AM
Kawaii – OMG I haven’t seen you forever! :hug: I hear ya on slower weight loss! Boo I’m so unhappy that the pounds aren’t shredding off anymore! Haha.
FatPants - I’m lucky all it really does is rain where I live, so I don’t have to smell BBQ’s all over the place! I’m the same way when I think about food too much I get cranky and want it more thinking about it. I need to go back into my zone where I just don’t care!
KRampus – Congrats at 129!! I know what you mean about belly fat! That’s my problem area as well…every where else is skinny…
---
I hate Hockey and the jerks that watch it...seriously a huge riot went down all because the canucks lost and they destroyed a bunch of buildings, through out the downtown core of Vancouver...Sometimes I think the cops should have sprayed them with bullets and that will teach anyone in the future not to do stupid sh!t like that...not to mention just ban hockey in canada all together most people that watch it are douchebags anyways. LOL yes...it's a bitter morning, but I'm happy it's FRIDAY!!! and since I no longer have two jobs I finally get a weekend to myself!
I'm babysitting Sweet's cat's while she's in B.C they are soo cute! I want to steal them for myself! hehe...My landlord is off for vacation for two months so she had three new tenants living in her home for the summer they're around my age and from B.C...maybe I'll make new friends, probably not tho I'm so anti social! haha.
So I joined the summer's biggest loser challenge! I'm hoping that this will keep me motivated because I'm starting to feel like I'm failing my team and myself if I don't kick my *** in high gear and start dropping these pounds! I think thats a good motivation starter! haha.
I'm trying calorie counting again...and failing at it LOL. I keep going over my calories, I'm sure once I go food shopping and just pick up more fruits and veggies my calories will be under instead of this processed junked. I'm going home in 5 weeks and want to be down in more weight! The awesome thing about home is the heat and I'm sure I can drop a bunch of weight by sweating it out in the summer heat! haha.
mmk, I'm talking too much. hope you girls have an awesome Friday and a wonderful weekend!
Ferumbras 06-17-2011 12:27 PM
Kawaii: Oohh.. Have fun on your date!
MiZTaCCen: You made me laugh with your comments about the rioters.
supergir111 06-17-2011 12:52 PM
My landlord came around while no one was in. It was arranged but while he was here he like tidied my living room which wasn't even untidy but I know he moved things. I am very creeped out, he is never coming around again when i'm out :mad:
Ferumbras 06-17-2011 05:45 PM
supergirl: Yeah, the moving stuff around would get to me too. Don't blame you in the least for being mad about it.
KawaiiCandie 06-17-2011 09:02 PM
Miz, ha, i hear you! hockey fans are crazy! lol. how do those biggest loser challenges work exactly? i've always been curious, seeing other people with banners and all... haha, calorie counting is HARD!! sometimes i'm like, how is it even possible nowadays to eat meals that are under 500 calories, when you can EASILY have one meal that's like 1000 calories, even with no dessert?! craziness... but we must! we must!
Ferumbras, lol. i'm not even sure if there'll be an actual date or if he'll just come over... lol. it's just this guy that i started seeing recently, that i REALLY like, but he was off to another city for work, so i haven't seen him in two weeks, so i'm really antsy to see him again! lol. i'll call him later :p
supergirl, landlord moving your **** around is hella creepy. wtf?! did you talk to him about it?
well good morning girls. it is already saturday over here. yesterday i was SO tired that i went to bed at 8pm, i kid you not... lol. last night was a mini-fail... i'd bought some nuts to put into my salad, but then after i was done eating it, i went to fetch the bag and went through most of it. i'd been good all day so there wasn't any actual damage (i think it brought my calories to about 1800) but it still felt like a fail to me. meh. still. got on the scale this morning and saw a loss. huh? i think it's just cuz i was retaining water (from exercising) on yesterday's weight, but still. haha. i was happy about it.
hope you all have a nice weekend!
JLNichols07 06-18-2011 02:38 PM
Happy Saturday Ladies!! I'm going to stay positive and talk about the positive today because the negative just seems to make my day suck. lol. Been good on my calorie intake today and got my 3rd day of JM's DVD in today! Has anyone tried the Zumba Fitness Complete DVD? I'm really interested in it and I really want to learn to do Zumba but want to start out with a simple DVD to teach me the basics..if you've tried it how'd ya like it?
It's rainy cats & dogs here today planned on taken the kiddos to the park but not going to happen. So i'm guessing Ill get homework done, cook dinner, clean up, watch reruns of Secret Life of the American teenager, give them baths & hit the sac! lol. Hope everyone has a great day!
