Default I slipped and tripped on 5 twinkies!! :(

Ladies, I am so upset with myself. I ate FIVE twinkies yesterday! I work in an institution and there were trays served. I gathered up a bunch of twinkies to save for fellow co-workers, instead I ate ALL of them I am so sad right now.

Now be honest, how much do you think this will set me back? I am so worried the past month of busting butt will not matter now I even thought when I looked in the mirror this morning I could see ALL of the weight Like water retention Am I delusional?

Oh it all matters! 5 twinkies will not ruin everything you did! Just get up today and do a little more, an extra walk or workout, extra cardio. Don't wait for tomorrow! Do it today! I mainly say that because you will feel better about yourself. You'll be doing something to kind of help that set back instead of sitting and being upset over it!

We all have done it and we'll all probably do it again. The difference between us (you and I and the people here) is that instead of letting it stop us, we push through.

Failure my dear, is how many times you fall and stay there. Getting back up is the success, period!

Don't be so hard on yourself! The bad things only make us realize how great we've been doing. And you can get right back into that RIGHT NOW!

yeah I had a less than stellar day on Saturday. I was bummed but I tried to make up for it by working a little longer on my little at home excercises and eating better the next day. For instance, I ate 2 hostess doughnuts and pasta and peanut butter and ice cream and more on saturday. I did a few extra leg lifts and butt toning excercises and tried my best to limit my calorie intake and I feel back on track more or less today. You know what? I have only been working on losing weight for like a week now (7 days) and I already notice a slight difference in my belly weight. Also my soon to be ex bf said my legs felt more firm that they did before. Its all the little things you can do to get on track. You cant change the fact you downed 5 twinkies, but you can add a little more excercise for the day Sorry you feel bad doll

: aw feel better... can't really beat the advice above..kudos ladies... but don't beat yourself up too much! with working out and step tomorrow, the twinkies might shock your system into burning more...

its the guilt i know.. but i think as long as the guilt is there your grand.. if you ate the twinkies without any guilt..then thats the downward spiral we all try to avoid..

Thank you ladies!! I think because I have been doing so good and I finally think I am past my plateau, I feel bad about it.

I do have a treat here and there, in moderation, so hopefully my body knows to just burn that cream sponge cake off!! They weren't even that good is what makes it even worse LOL

I have my weigh in on Wed with the trainer, maybe that is why I think I can see all the "extra" weight on my tummy. I carry my weight there for sure (I have absolutely no butt!) and I am so insecure about it. I am almost fearful to get my measurements done, and I felt that way BEFORE scarffing on the twinkies...

My new motto : TWINKIES ARE THE DEVIL!!! And if I could have a siggie, that would be it lol

Hey Ryeb! Have you ever heard the saying that a pound of feathers weighs as much as a pound of bricks? It's largely (but not totally) the same in foods. Yes, there are better choices and choices we wish we hadn't made, but eating a given amount of calories of one food is the same as the same number of calories in another food.

So, if you ate 5 twinkies at 150 calories a piece, that's 750 calories. It's the same as eating 750 calories of filet mignon, and even the same (calorically) as 750 calories of carrots. If you expend 750 extra calories, you'll have counteracted the "damage" done, and you can use this lesson to help you resist in the future.
Making some foods untouchable (or "bad") may make you feel more deprived and more prone to a total loss of control rather than being able to indulge in one twinkie every couple weeks.

Those are my 2 cents - you're not a failure for one slip - you're a success for getting back on track!

I had a rough day on Saturday, myself. So, I completely understand. But, twinkies didn't trip me up. McDonald's is running their 20 McNuggets for $4.99 promotion. Needless to say, I won't be going back to McDonald's for even a salad in the near future.

We all fall off, hun. The trick is getting back up and not beating yourself up about it. I threw all of my energy into my TurboFire workout this morning and I'm going to workout at least two extra times this week to make up for that mistake. If you can't do an extra workout, just make sure to give it your all the next time you do work out and stick to your healthy eating routine.
