Default How much is "normal"?

I'm new to weightloss and I'm curious how much everyone lost in the beginning? I've been eating better for a few weeks but just started working out.....Jillian Michaels DVD everynight. I weigh myself every morning at the same time and I'm losing about 1 pound a day. I know this won't continue forever (unfortunately) but did anyone else experience this?

Yes the first I lost a lot of weight, I think my body got scared of me , actually I reduce my salt intake a lot at the beginning because my blood pressure was not good and I think that I was retaining water. After a few months I loose between 1 and 2 pounds a week, fine with me slow and steady.

The first two weeks I dropped 11 pounds. It was awesome, BUT It was also a LOT of water weight. From there I go from 1-3lbs on any given week. And slow and steady is cool with me =)

Never have lost 1 pound a day.. I work for 1 pound a week! Congratulations on your success, keep it up! My average varies, I lose anywhere from 1 - 4 pounds a MONTH.

I've experienced anywhere from +1 to -10 my first week. So I'd say there is really no predicting how long you'll be able to lose that fast. Just enjoy it while you've got it, and don't be shocked when it slows down.

It's normal to drop a bunch at first, especially if you go from carby high-sodium foods to lower-sodium healthier foods and from no exercise to regular exercise. You won't lose a pound a day forever, but if you stick to plan there's no reason you wouldn't lose an average of at least a few pounds every month (no one loses 2 lbs a week like clockwork).
