  • So literally I don't think I have had an altoid since college. I use to pop em all the time as well as chew gum like a fiend in classes.
But on my way to a meeting the other day and I was compelled to buy a tin when I stopped for a gas. I totally forgot that they make sneeze. I think its a combo of the strong mint and chalky dust.
But I've had them on my desk the past few days and I have noticed that they totally help me with cravings. (No wonder I was at my lightest weight ever in college).
What do you guys do/use to help with cravings?
Right now I'm swearing by my altoids.
  • Depends on what kind of craving it is, for me. If I'm bored and getting that tingling feeling in the back of my mind that eating would be nice, I drink some water or some tea. If I just need to have something in my mouth, gum and altoids do the trick!
  • Believe it or not, I actually love the Dessert Gums that BL is always talking about. LOL My favorite is the 5calorie Strawberry shortcake ones!
  • I've actually been wanting to try those. They look interesting.
  • I also like the altoids. A lot. They kind of hit that sweet spot, but leave such a strong (curiously, in fact ) taste in my mouth that nothing else tastes good after one.
  • I buy the wintergreen breathsavers that are individually wrapped in bulk and keep them at my desk to help beat the cravings. I find they last a long time and leave a strong taste in my mouth for a while that deters me from carelessly snacking.
  • I like sugar free wild cherry lifesavers
  • The Key Lime Pie Dessert gum is FANTASTIC.....

kind of off topic but this reminded me. I have a friend who is addicted to these things. Like, goes through a 5 lb bag every week. She ended up with major stomach issues & ulcers. Just a random side note, not that anyone here needs to worry about something like that. I can't imagine anyone is eating that many of them.

That's insane! I have like maybe 2-3 a day, some days none.
  • i like the dessert gum too, so far ive only had the strawberry shortcake but i wanna try mint chocolate chip next time i need a new pack of gum

I know, right? How do you even have that many in one day?

    ...

As soon as I posted this I realized she isn't sucking on them, there is no way. She has to be chewing them. She doesn't have them around me because I know she is trying to kick the habit.

haha this year I got both of those as stocking stuffers (instead of the usual chocolate bars) the boyfriend did good this year! Both were great but strawberry shortcake is def my favorite!
  • I like the sugar-free Ice mints and cinnamon altoids...
  • Ahh Altoids are such a craving killer because they are so strong, I can't imagine eating anything afterwards lol

Sometimes all I have to do is think about brushing my teeth and then drinking orange juice
