MiZ- I was getting really frustrated with my gym buddy. She doesn't really have much weight to lose and we would just hop on the treadmill or elliptical and talk vs. getting a really good work out in. Some people suggested talking to her and going IN to the gym together (for accountability) and splitting and doing our own thing... maybe you can do that? See how it goes. Either way, you're going so that's awesome.

Ferel - I don't have the talking problem, because she wants to workout hard core...but I get bored on just doing weights and we don't do Jillian style or P90X style weights where your working both upper and lower body. She says not to do that...and so just working out my arms is pretty boring and I want to sweat and I don't sweat much doing that. But yesterday was only our first day together so obviously there will be kinks. So today I'll talk to her about it.
Also the great thing is I get free 12 days with a personal trainer (Well wasn't free spent a crap load of money on the gym thing but it came with it) So I'll probably do it once a month within the 12 months or if I really need her because I'm not losing a thing then I'll use her more then once a month. |

Miz I have "workout" friends that are like that too. I feel your pain! I want to be moving..not lifting weights. I know how annoying that is. Hope it works out for you and your friend. Last night I stayed on track. Hour and forty five at the gym-35 was elliptical. I had enough water, but was way under my calorie amount (890 for the day). I didn't feel woozie or hungry, so I guess it'll be ok. Day 2 of 30--Check! Have a great day ladies! |
Had two days off plan because I was feeling down in the dumps :( Still feeling a bit blue, but going to get back on plan for a new week :) At least I still had a loss. Trying to stay positive and figure out what brought these blues on!
annah- you are a workout MACHINE!! An hour 45 mins? Insane! miz- work out buddies are tricky! Part of the reason I dont have one :lol: I like feral's idea of you guys turning up and doing your own thing though. My sister and I kinda do that by accident, sometimes turn up and see each other randomly, so we'll do something together then go do something else |

hey everyone...i know its a little into the month already, but would it be alright for me to join this thread for the rest of it?
i've been really on point with keeping my eating habits in check for the past few weeks (with the exception of christmas), but my thirty days of commitment are focused on exercise. my plan is doing 30 Day Shred 3x week, yoga 3x week, and 30 min of jogging on the treadmill on the days i do yoga. and one day of rest. i've recently been laid off my job, so i got the time to work out! looks like you ladies have been doing really great! really very inspiring :) |

Today is day seven for me, and for me my main goal is just the basics. Logging all my food and logging in here. Of course that usually leads to some better choices, too. Right now though I'm just happy that I have been keeping track. My average consumed calories over this six day period was 1800. My lowest day was 1500 and my highest was 2100. What this has helped me realize is that I probably normally consume closer to 2500-3000. Ah! Not good. Does an average of 1800 calories per day seem like I might lose some weight at 220 pounds? Without exercise? Unfortunately I dont have access to a scale or anything right now so I can't monitor my own progress the normal way. I am off the continent on buisness for a while. Any advice would be much appreciated! Keep up the great work, everyone. It seems like we all have very different goals, but I know we can inspire eachother to stick with them, whatever they may be! |
I got my 3 days of workouts in last week *WAHOOO!!!* I really wanted to go for 5 but it didn't happen. Most of my days were OP (including the weekend which is RARE!). I didn't drink enough water this weekend, but I'm okay with that too. I still feel like the train is at motivation station. :)
I weighed yesterday and was down to 182.4 which is a 6lb loss for the "week" but truth be told I didn't weigh until Tuesday so it's not quite a week yet. Weighed this morning and I was back up to 184.4 but my hands were swollen from eating some soup that was high in sodium yesterday. I'm crossing my fingers for a 6lb loss for the entire week. We'll see tomorrow. Also, it's supposed to snow here and that means no gym. Guess I'm going to have to bust out the 30DS video.... I have a treadmill and rinky dink elliptical in my garage but BRRRRRR its soooooo cold!!!! Here's to another awesome week of doing this together! |
I'm so glad everyone is doing well. I love this thread it's a lot easier to keep up with stuff when it turns into a short goal thing rather then a random few months thing. (if that makes sense?)
So I took the weekend off from working out. I was going to go Saturday but after brining in my car all I wanted to do was sleep so I never ended up going. I know my workout was suppose to be 7 days (well 6 with a day of rest or P90X stretch.) I did workout monday to friday though... So as I stated if I miss three workouts no reward for me. So far I've missed one. But I'm thinking of changing my scedule to working out Monday to friday (the days I work it'll be easier for me to head to the gym instead.) and doing the weekend with a video instead of the gym. (My gym is kind of far plus this weekend the roads were crap to do anything due to our lovely snow storm haha...not a good excuse I know) I partied this weekend so sunday a workout sure as heck wasn't going to happen. I've also missed my weekly weight in this week, so I'm just going to wait until next sunday to do it again. Today I meet with a personal trainer at the gym to discuss my goals and what I want to accomplish. I'm kind of excited today is all about the talking, and the next time we meet up she'll show me how she'll train for me and if I like her I'll keep her for the rest of the time. |
So I was doing well seeing a downward trend, but my poor choices on Sunday put me back a couple of pounds. I sure hope I make my 1/13 goal! =)

how did everyone do today?
i did my 30ds and brisk walk on the treadmill-for some reason though, i can't seem to put pressure on my right hand the way you normally would when doing a push up. i had to turn it to the side if the makes sense. the muscle (?) right under my thumb was sore or something. weird. hope it goes away soon.... |
I am doing well today, really sore from getting back into the gym! Just about to make dinner and have a rest :) Saw a low number this morning which is exciting!
fill- does that normally happen? if it does maybe its just a weakness, my wrists are pretty weak and i think being lighter makes it easier to do pushups. Or maybe its just cramp? :?: |

i'm not sure what it is...it's not from working out, i know that for sure. it started when i wasn't working out regularly- i think it might be carpul tunnel (i can't spell...) i hope not. i just got laid off and cobra insurance is too expensive. i just hope it goes away. tomorrow is my yoga day. downward dogs won't be easy...lol |
Week one of staying on plan and I managed to get to a scale. It looks like I lost 4 pounds this first week! :D
Now I just need to work harder, as I know most of this is probably water weight. |

So I had to weight myself today for my PT for wednesday. I'm still at 164...@^(&*)%($#^*#*%^**^#(%$%#()$%($#%#$(%#($@!!! !!!!!!!!!!!
Yesterday was the first day I did the gym by myself...I have to say I friggen LOVED IT! I never used to be a gym person but than again I hated the gym because it was both males and females. Maybe now that it's just a female gym I'm far more comfortable or at least trying to get that way. I did the tredmill for 30 minutes (running and walking) and the eliptical (omg that killed for the first 5 minutes.) haha. I see my PT on wednesday, yesterday was more so talking about my goals which are: To drop 20 pounds Become more flexible and to be able to run a 5K by may. She asked me if I could do this without her, I said probably since I've already lost 20 on my own, the 5K if I trained hard enough but I just need something new to help keep me going. Ya know?! |
miz - That makes sense, I know if I had someone else there pushing me I'd probably make better progress with some things. Also, it helps to have a buddy to stretch with if you want to become more flexible. =)

Today is the day with my personal trainer we're actually going to work out now. I worked out yesterday, an hour of cardio, 10mins of weights, 10 minutes of abs and I was out of there.

Hey ladies! Checking in with all of you...
I've been signing onto the board but haven't posted in here in a few days. Eating has been OP which is a HUGE accomplisment because I was iced in at home yesterday and I didn't try to eat everything in the house out of boredom. I def need to increase my water intake and I haven't been to the gym this week due to inclement weather, so it's time to jump on it. :) Still glad to see that everyone is doing so well!!!! |
I'm still doing well with my commitments to you all (and myself of course). I haven't have fast food since I started, no candy/cakes/etc, and no soda. I think this is the longest I've stayed motivated in a while... So thanks to all of you for just coming in here and keeping your commitments also!!

I'm back. Sorry this will be long.
Hi all. Well January started off with a bang. Or rather a crash? I don't want to come in making excuses for myself but I actually have a pretty damn good one :/. My company holiday party was new years day. I went snowshoeing that morning and then on to the party that night. Well I planned on having a few drinks so I really watched the food intake for the day but in retrospect should have accounted for the extra exertion from snowshoeing and eaten a bit more. Well my few planned drinks resulted in seriously toastedness. DH and I take our cab home and as my exhausted wasted self is trying to get out of her skirt and into bed I fall and hit my head on the nightstand. Cracked my head open and sprained my neck.
A few days later nerves in mu neck apparently get all pinched. So I was put on muscle relaxers. Good news? Well I am weeeeell rested. Those pills put me out something fierce. And though I have not been logging in I actually have eaten pretty well. But had zero exercise. And so today I'm back to my accountability challenge and re-starting 30 days :). Same goals. Here's to making it happen this time around. |
I want to also say I thinks it's awesome how great all you ladies are doing. I'm looking forward to reading up and catching up with the progress everyones had.

i did my yoga yesterday, and i did one that was solely abs (never did it before) and it killed. never realized my core was so weak. sooo i was too sore to work out today. so today will be rest day and i'll work out on sunday i guess. arg. but- eating has been a-ok. |
Day 2
Yesterday I logged everything and logged in. Calories were like 30 over, but I work out so I'm not gonna sweat the extra calories. Tonight we have dinner at a friends house. I wish I could somehow know how many calories I need to save for it. Figure I will eat light all day. Hope everyone had a successful day! |
ma - Sorry to hear about the reason you've been away... but so glad you're doing better now! You sound like you've done well eating-wise and that's a major accomplishment! =)
I think my scale wanted to say 172.something... but since I don't have a digital I just went with 173 again. Ah well. |

Day 3
Whoo hoo! Two good days under the belt and a third in which I m starting off posting. Everytime I have a few days on plan and feel so accomplished it makes me realize how rarely I went long stretches without have craptastic days on the food front. Perhaps it's a small miracle my high weight was only 186. Probably the fact that I have a physical job, and that I run were my only saving graces? Anyways onto day three. I'm hitting the slopes for some fresh powder snowboarding before I have to work tonight. Will pack my lunch and have a stellar day :)

Aw pink eye sucks:( I got it once when I had a bad cold and had to get eye drops for it. Turns out im allergic to the usual generic pink eye eye-drops :dizzy:
Ok so after eating myself out of house and home twice this week, I am starting over and oging to work hard towards my goal of getting to goal by march 12th |

Day 4 and five
I missed logging in on this page. But I did post during day 4 on a daily weigh in thread. The last couple of days have not been good calorically, but I have counted ever calorie. And I've been on 3fc. I need to get back to staying in my calorie limits. But at least im tracking everything :/. |
As do I ladies! It's still there and annoying but no longer noticable. I'm catching a cold or something because my system is just shutting down on me it kind of sucks.
I went to the gym friday, I've decided to take the weekends off from the gym since because I already go monday to friday (unless unfortunate events happen) So I'm back at the gym today. :) |
I'm in! For the next 30 days I commit to sticking to the South Beach Diet, and exercising 5-6 days a week!

Day 6
Wooo hooo 6 days! Granted not perfect days, but six days of counting all the calories I have consumed and logging into 3fc. Today was excellent. Ate super well and had a kickass workout at the gym. I have been wieghing everyday and my weekend of 2000+ calories two days in a row showed up on the scale. Now two days hitting a little under the calories and under my belt. Hopefully I can be back to what I was before my derailing on the eating plan. After this 30 days I am definately going to start a 30 days challenge to stay within my calories. I have been thinking and I think I'll start zig zagging my calories. But I wont start that until after this 30 days of just focusing on "trying" to stay in calorie goal, and commited to recording everything. Its sad but I dont know if I have ever gone 6 days where I never ate anything I didnt write down and tally. I used to just quit counting when I went way over. But this weekend proved I can face the hard truth and live with staring that awful overeat kinda number in the face. Yay! Anyways sorry for the long post about pretty much nothing but ramblings :).

yesterday was my rest day, so stayed OP as per, and no exercise. that's ok.
BUT. I. COULD. NOT. FOR. THE. LIFE. OF. ME. GET. MYSELF. TO. WORKOUT. TODAY. ARG. sorry, i'm hideously upset with myself. i spent the hour i should i have been working out watching freaking jersey shore. i don't know why. kinda didn't feel like it. horrible excuse. i did however have to walk for about 45 minutes to kinko's (round trip). so i wasn't lethargic all day. here's to doubling up tomorrow. *sigh* |
