Saying hi....Again

  • Well, the damage has been done since the last time I've been around here. I had made it down to 138 about a month after I graduated college. I stayed right around 140 for a while. Then it was 145. Then I just didn't. I sprained my ankle really badly last February and couldn't run or really walk for a month. By the time I could, I just didn't want to anymore. I was too lazy.
I stand all day at work, so I'd come home exhausted and figured I was doing enough to maintain. Boy was I wrong.
I'm a stress eater, and my job really stresses me out. But I'm looking in to getting my life back in order (more on that another time) and felt it was time to finally see the damage I'd done to my body. 154. I hadn't been that high since highschool. It's a lot on my small frame. While I was incredibly disappointed, it seems to be the kick in the butt I needed. I've been on plan ever since.
So I wanted to pop back in. Introduce myself to all the new lovely ladies around here, and say well done to the girls who have kicked butt while I've been gone!
  • JadeBlue - Congrats on taking control of your life! Hope to see you around the boards often!
  • Hi Jade and welcome back! Hope you stick around Good luck getting back on track!
  • Congrats on getting back on track.. I've been there before. I was within 5lbs of my goal and hurt my back which in turn the dr's made me stop working out and I gained all but 10lbs back. It can be very frustrating but just keep fighting through it, you'll get there!
  • Hi Jade,

I think were on the same boat. I'm actually shorter than you so its even more weight for my frame. I started college at 120..by the end of my freshman year i was about 130..i stayed in the 130s all through college..after college got up to 140-145 for about 2 years and then went down to 134 about a year ago. Finally this year i went up to 157! so yeah..definitely a kick in the butt..its been a struggle but i'm trying. Good luck and hopefully we both make it!
  • Thanks guys! I'm already starting to feel better physically. I always forget just how awesome eating better makes me feel.
And Angeluv, sounds like we are in exactly the same boat. We've done it before, we can do it again!
  • It sounds like you're pretty determined and you've got a plan. You'll definitely succeed. Welcome back!
  • welcome back, looking forward to seeing your progress
