Default For all my high-heel wearers...

Do you think that losing weight will make your high heels hurt less? I mean my logic is that because of the inherent issues with bipedalism (the sheer fact that we balance 100% of our weight on 2 miniscule points of contact with the ground) mean that on over-weight person has more troubles with the feet and high heel wearers have even more problems because there is more weight bearing down on the points of contact, which have become more vulnerable with the addition of high heels.

for all of my heel-wearers that have lost weight, any amount, have you noticed a difference? Just wondering.

Couldn't tell cause for the first time in my life, I am wearing high heels. Never did when fat. I will say I get charlie horses in my toes, arches and shins at night from wearing them..never had that before either.

I've worn heels at all different all different weights and haven't noticed a difference. However, my heels don't usually hurt my feet unless I'm doing an excessive amount of walking.

I have noticed a difference, but I'm not sure if its because of the weight loss, or if because I've learned to buy shoes with a certain heel placement.

Shoes with the heel in the center of your heel are more comfortable than those with the heel at the very back of your foot. I've also learned to go for a thicker, tapered heel instead of the stilettos.

Also, my core is a lot stronger now than it was before, and that probably also helps with the balance.

I was reading somewhere else that it may hurt a little more because if you lose fat in your foot, there's less padding for your heels and the balls of your feet? I guess it just depends on if you lost size in your feet during your weight loss.

I lost 2 shoe sizes in my feet over ~55 lbs. I was actually kind of peeved about that since many of my favorite shoes don't fit

I couldn't wear heels when I weighed 250, now at 134, I wear them all the time! COuldn't tell you if there's a connection though. I just know that when I attempted to wear heels at my heaviest, my butt would stick out and I had NO balance what so ever.

I have always worn heels, and I do notice a bit of a difference in my legs, not as much pain, however I have wide feet and always have thin, heavy and now, so my toes hurt anyway, I have just grown used to that!

I've always worn heels, and I've definitely noticed a difference. It might have more to do with building muscle than losing weight, but my balance is better and I can wear heels for longer periods of time. I did lose some weight in my feet, though, so the shoes are a little loose, unfortunately.

I've always been a heel girl, even through my pregnancy. I have noticed that it takes a lot more walking now for my feet to hurt.

Fit4lyfe, it's one of my fondest hopes!! i love heels but i can never wear them for very long, even if they are "comfortable heels". i'm just hoping that if i lose a lot of weight i'll be able to wear heels all the time! let's hang in there!!

It's def. possible. I don't really have a problem with them now. I find that you just have to find a brand or style that fits the shape of your foot best and you shouldn't have many problems.

I actually dont even bother with heels unless it's a special occasion...the pain in my knees shins and feet is too much to bear....I do imagine it would be easier with weight loss tho...but I cant wait to see for myself.

Just wanted to say, yes yes yes, 100 times yes! I was one of those girls that would complain about wearing heels to my boyfriend, suck it up and do it anyway, and then end up with my shoes off half way through the night. Now if they're uncomfortable shoes to begin with, I don't think losing weight will fix that - but I have a couple of pairs of "comfy" heels (both pretty high) and now that I've lost 28 ish pounds, I can definitely wear them longer, feel more comfortable in them. It's amazing! I actually love that I can now wear them and not worry too much! I probably noticed this at about 20 pounds down I'd say...so I'm looking forward to hopefully getting myself some new shoes!
