Finally kicking my butt back into shape

  • Hello everyone,
I am new to this board and I thought I would just talk a little to make it offical I am getting started. I am a 23 year old woman who had a baby about a year ago. I went to start a gym, and said that I wanted to lose my baby weight. Who am I kidding? She is a year old now... it isn't baby weight anymore, it is only my weight. I actually weigh more now than I did right after I had her. I will say it really isn't what I eat(not that I eat perfectly), but it is more about when I eat. I work in a restaurant and sometimes go in at 3 and don't get off till 11. I am not hungry when I go into work, so of course I snack through out the shift and then when I am done I eat my dinner. Then come home and go straight to bed. That is not healthy I know. I am doing my absolute first spinning class tonight... think I might be in a lot of pain when I get done. However I need to kick start something... I am right now at about 204 and I am 5'4. I know that I want to be back around 140lbs. I am ready to kick butt! Thank you so much for reading my rant... I just felt the urge to right this!
  • Congratulations on making the decison to lose the weight. I'm also going to kick my butt back into shape by going to the gym (taking baby steps). I think I'm going to just start trying to do a little something everyday. good luck!!
  • Good luck! I am just starting again after taking a break when having baby #2. It was a little disappointing to log in and realize I am 15lbs higher than what I was when I was last trying to commit to my weight loss plan, but I'm trying not to get caught up in that, because this time IT IS HAPPENING! I'm committed and I am going to do it.
  • Congrats on committing to lose! I hope spinning goes well for you! If not, try some different classes until you find something that you look forward to. When I got started I really wanted to love spinning, but it's so boring! Kickboxing, on the other hand, is a ton of fun and also burns a lot of calories.
  • i remember my first spinning class..... may the force be with you! lol
  • yeyy for determination! I've found a lot of the pictures and stories here pretty inspiring, maybe you will too!
