Default Coconut cupcakes and unattainable men...

I have been doing pretty well so far with the dieting and the exercising.

But this weekend, a man that I am pretty sure I have feelings for (but absolutely shouldn't) came to visit me. He decided to come out of the blue and only notified me one day before. He doesn't live close to here, so he had to take a plane, book a hotel...

I met with him and we went to a bar and grill the first night (where I had two g&Ts) and then the next day, we went for lunch and then dinner, and then drinks and then coffee... SOOOOO much food, and even though I tried my best not to stray too much, I sort of failed.

But when I am with him, I feel happy and giddy, and I don't know how that translates to eating... Maybe our strange platonic kind of relationship makes me nervous and I overcompensate?

Anyway, I am back on track now (well sort of) and I see no reason to let this little lapse in judgement discourage my diet efforts.

Now, I have to have the discipline to get back to my studies!!!

Getting right back on track is the best thing to do!

As for the happy/giddy feeling translating to eating more - it's so easy for that to happen, and I'm sure many people can relate - when you're with someone you feel comfortable with and enjoy spending time together, eating out and going for drinks or coffees is something that happens - and it's just the choices you make when you do those things that counts. Don't say "no, I can't go" just go and try to make the best possible choices.

I put on over 10kg (22pounds) in the first few months of seeing my current boyfriend because we went out and ate places together so much or we'd stay in and watch dvds with all sorts of treats. Now 2.5 years later we still do the same things - but I'm so much more aware of what I'm eating.

I think I kind of didn't exactly respond to your thread very well haha - why is this man unattainable/someone you shouldn't have feelings for? Good luck with being back on track!

Yeah... Well, he is in a relationship (which is always a huge no-no for me - I have never dated a guy who was married or dating someone else) and he is sort of my teacher/mentor... So definitely not someone I can even think about dating. But somehow that hasn't stopped me from having feelings for him, which I have just sadly discovered. At least it has stopped me from doing anything about it.

OH I see. Yup, I know some girls go there, and that is their decision, but I'm totally with you on that - I would never knowingly get involved with someone who was with someone else.
I'm sorry, it must be pretty frustrating and confusing to have developed feelings for someone you know you shouldn't have.

Don't worry, its ok. I know I shouldn't have them. The worst part is that he is so annoying!!! If only I could like someone normal, and available and who doesn't make me want to tear my hair out!!!
But yeah, even if he was single, I still wouldn't go for it, so I think I am fine!
