Default Newbie weighing in at 195...HELP

Hello ladies!!! So I have decided to be active on my wii fit and do some running and weight training.

I have no diet plan and I dont even know where to start with dieting. I am going to go grocerie shopping tonight.

Im curious to know what kinds of diets and eating habits you have.

Also I would like to know you're work routines.

Hi! I'm new here too. I'm going down the calorie-counting road as it has worked for me in the past but I'm also trying to be really conscious of what I'm eating as I want it to be about health not just about weight. This means I'm trying to avoid the empty, junk food calories and focus on good, old-fashioned nutritious food! I'm a terrible snacker as well so I'm trying to eat 3 meals a day to keep things balanced.

My workouts have been mostly cardio - I could spend forever on the elliptical but I've switched now to the step machine and have been jogging every now and then which I'm trying to increase. I also want to do more weight training to that I'm toned and fit

For my workouts, which range from 3-7 days a week (usually 5-7, though some weeks are busier), I jog and do interval training (run fast for 3 minutes, walk for 2, repeat several times). I also lift weights about 2-3 times a week.

For food, I try to eat healthy choices. I eat lean proteins (chicken, fish, etc.), whole grains, lots of veggies, fresh or frozen fruit, and then make sure I have some treats so I don't go crazy. I've been collecting healthy recipes to try, though that takes some time.

I also kind of count calories. Maybe a couple times a week to make sure I'm not eating too much or little. I do pretty well eating intuitively for now.

The key is the pick a workout routine and new eating habits that you can maintain for many many months, and then that you can adjust to still be really healthy when you hit maintenance of your weight (in which case you'd continue that forever, basically).

Good luck!
