Default Weighing in each week not the best idea?

Has anybody else noticed that while they've been eating right, and exercising frequently, that your clothes are looser, and you feel better, but the scale hasn't moved, or has even moved up?

Yup, the body often has plans of it's own. It's frustrating and common. It's the long haul that's important for sure. Water is usually the culprit, bodies can fluctuate big time with changes in water, 5 lbs of water is not entirely uncommon so keep it up. Those are all good things you're doing and WILL get results.

I agree - water often creates bloat and makes the numbers deceiving. Plus, muscle weighs more than fat, so if you're doing a good job working out then the scale might be reflecting built muscle as well as burned fat!

I highly recommend putting your scale away for a month or two before revisiting it. I was getting really frustrated until my boyfriend "hid" my scale. (It's under our bed. Lol.) It has really helped me focus on the other benefits of working out such as how good I feel, and how my clothes fit. Keep up the good work and ignore that scale for a bit.

I have learned (today) the scale needs to take a break. My mom hid it from me.

It is fun when it's going down, but if it goes up when you have done everything right, yikes. I don't think there is any point in upsetting myself for no reason- when I feel better in every other way!

I find I need a weekly weigh in to keep track otherwise I go off the rails.
I didn't weigh myself for over a year and kept saying I was just monitoring clothes etc and managed to keep getting bigger and bigger.

But I guess its different for everyone.

Yyyyyyep. And it's making me a crazy person. I am seriously considering taking everyone's advice and hiding mine for a month.

Oh yeah! Especially during TOM days it goes up and does not budge down easily. You just need to start not minding that much. You will have to learn to shrug it off every once and awhile because if you have been exercising and eating well then this means it's your body retaining water.

Ahh! So apparently weighing in EVERY day is an extremely silly idea? Someone once told me that I should weigh myself every morning, and that weigh when it really starts to fluctuate I know I am slacking.....
