  • OH man, I feel so lame, but I don't care. I love Twilight lol. I am watching New Moon now for the second night since I bought it on Friday at midnight!

Anyone else a big fan. I think it's amazing. The books are obviously better, books are always better. I just wanted to see if anyone else was a fan!
  • I am actually watching New Moon right now too... My heart gets all a-flutter when I see Jacob.
  • I read the books but I think I'm the only female alive that doesn't like them. I personally don't like the message that it sends to young girls. If I had a teenage daughter she would need to be VERY sure of herself and confident in order to read those books, or even watch the movies.
  • I HEART THE TWILIGHT SAGA!!

Just finished watching New Moon! Loved the books. and completely pumped for Eclipse!!!

    I wish my bf was a vampire...but he's cute, so he'll do!
  • lol. I love it too. Cannot wait until Eclipse comes out! Wish they would start production on Breaking Dawn.

Kabaker- I will give it to you, Jacob is HOTTT! But I love Edward! I am more a vampire lover, if that's what you wanna call it. lol.

Tiffany- I get what you mean in a way. Personally the New Moon Book is so depressing, it actually made me feel like crap reading it. I love it, don't get me wrong, but it is very depressing. And I get what you mean about giving the wrong impression. Like all she lives for is a boy. I think that's what you mean. I still love it though! I think I can see your point, but I think it has good points too. Like you can't help you love.
  • I may be one of the only people...........

But I HATE HATE HATE the twilight series. I tried reading it. I even watched Twilight. But in my own personal opinion, she ruins the idea of what vampires are. Glittery in the daylight? I mean....ok. I just....I just can't

I am a HUGE horror fan. I have an extensive movie collection and I have seen so many movies and read so many books about vampires and shapeshifters and I just don't like her portrayal.

I love the Anita Blake series by Laurell Hamilton though...so go figure.

I guess to each their own. I also don't like Tru Blood on HBO. But I did like the books that the show was based on.
  • Brittany- I totally get that though if your in too horror. That makes sense, cuz Stephanies Meyers portrayel is def. not horror lol. It's more love, so that is probably why I love it so much. I am a sucker for sappy crap lol.
  • You know that's probably it. I think when you get so attached to the classic vampire character, it's hard to get past the way she has designed hers in order to see the love story underneath it all.

Perhaps if they were just normal people, not shapeshifters or vamps, I would like it better and be able to get into the love story better

Ohhhh trust me, you are not alone! Twilight bashing is very common and... well, pretty fun. Each to their own though

I read the first book and I got very frustrated with the repetition SMeyer used to describe Edward over and over and over... I get it. He's shiny (literally) gorgeous. I also didn't like Bella as she was a very plain character--but I understand that that was artistic choice as it's easier for the reader to project themselves in her shoes if she's simple. And it works. For the same reason, some video game characters never speak--it's a purposeful choice so that the player is more submersed into the character.

I could go on as to why I personally don't like it, but I won't. That's rude to do in a place like this. I agree with tiffany0809 that it sends the wrong messages to adolescent girls. But hey, so does MTV, magazine covers, and the popular rap that they listen to these days. I'd say Twilight isn't as bad as all that. Not good, but there are easily worse things out there.
  • Me Me Me....I Love them. Like everyone said the books were way better but that doesn't mean i dont get giddy when the next movie comes out...3 more months....just 3...more... months lol
  • I feel you... I am so counting down the days until Eclipse. My mom is like you act like a 13 year old little girl. But I'm like mom it's not just young girls who are into this. I went to the midnight release party at Walmart to get New Moon Friday night and there was every age range possible there. There was an older lady in front of me who was probably in her 50's. I love it! I wish they would hurry up and decide what they are doing with Breaking Dawn. I seriously think they should split it in to two movies though! CAN"T WAIT!
  • I am a total Twilight Fangirl! I LOVE the books and the movies. I'm a huge classic vamp fan (Nosferatu is one of my fav movies), but there's something about the portrayal of them in Twilight that makes me love the kind that glitter! I asked my husband the other day why he can't sparkle in the sun. lol I love it for a few reasons, for one it's so easy to lose yourself in the books, I am a huge fan of books that make me feel like I'm living the story. And secondly I think because I identify with Bella and Edward. The love they have is the same kind of love my husband and I have (without the immortality and constant danger). I've been where she was in New Moon, so I feel a real connection with her, she's so real in her hurting and mourning for the love she thinks she's lost...

Okay, so maybe that was overthinking or whatever, but I do love the books. I got New Moon at midnight (or rather, my husband got it for me on his way home from work) and just got done watching the second disc of special features and am now impatiently waiting until June 30th.

And I will throw out there that when it comes to the books I'm very much Team Edward, the obsessive, overprotective undying love is totally what I'm all about. But as for the movies, I think I may just like Jacob a bit more (but maybe that has something to do with Taylor Lautner? lol).

ETA~ I really think they ought to make Breaking Dawn two movies, I don't see how they could cram it all into one movie. I also hope Stephenie decides to finish Midnight Sun sometime soon too...
  • no. I have tried to reaf the book, but i just couldn't.
and I am not a fan of Kristen stewart. so. . . I have never seen the movies.
  • Okay the books were good...I didn't put them down until I was done...but I think EVERY book is good, and I will finish anything if I start it...so no surprise there...

but the movies make me want to shoot myself....

None of them can act. Kristen Stewart drives me nuts and blinks WAY too much...and whats his face that plays edward is a bad actor too. Jacob is kinda cute, but can't act....I mean seriously. They could have done SO much better with the casting. I will go see eclipse in theaters, but after that I will never watch it again.

I have to admit, I liked the 2nd movie more then the first...but I think that was just because edward was not in most of it.....and I just cannot seem to take his charachter seriously. he's just too bad an actor.

ANYWAYS, nothing against the people who enjoy the movies. We all have our own tastes....and I understand that. Its just not my kind of movies I guess.

The books are good though. Definitely page turners.
  • Taylor Lautner is adorable, but I felt like a total creeper when I realized he just turned 18.
