  • Hey Ladies,

    I'm so sorry if this is obnoxious or a little too needy but I just need a place to post my food intake, just for a week, just to make it public and force me to stay on track. I really let myself and my 20 Something BL team down, i gained last week and really dont want the same thing to happen again. So, I plan on posting my 5 meals in this thread every day for at least a week, more if it helps. I shoot for 1200 calories a day, which is easy when I try though tricky since i dont eat meat. If you're interested please feel free to add your food intake here too. It'll would me feel a little less self conscious if a few of you would join me in this. I'll be starting tomorrow morning. Please God, let this help!!!! I'm reaching my wits end and doing everything to keep from giving up. Thanks girls!

    Mon 1/18
    Breakfast: shredded wheat type cereal w/ 2% milk: 150
    Snack: 1/2 cup potatoes and 1/2 cup canned pears: 260
    Lunch: boca burger (130), small green squash (20), 1/2 corn (50), queso fresca (40): 240
    Snack: popcorn (50) and orange slices (100): 150
    Dinner: brown rice (150) w/ broccoli and carrots (50), and oyster sauce (25): 225
    Ice cream!!!: 100
    late night snack: 2 hard boiled egg whites and 1/2 cup soda (80)
    total: 1205!

    Tues 1/19
    Breakfast:shredded wheat type cereal w/ 2% milk w/ pears: 220
    Snack: hummus with veggies and crackers: 200
    Lunch: chips and salsa: 300
    Snack: animal crackers: 150
    Dinner: veggie corn dog and salad: 250
    couple of fries at the bar. 150
    total = 1270, not bad

    Wed 1/20
    Breakfast: english muffin(130) w/ tbsp low fat PB(85): 215
    Snack: banana (125)
    Lunch: one bowl of vegetarian chili. the whole pot that i make is only 1260 calories (300)
    Dinner: baked tilapia and broccoli: not more than 300 cals
    Snack: cereal 300 cals
    total: 1240

    Thurs 1/21
    Breakfast: eng muffin w/ PB (200), 1/2 cup pears (60): 260
    Snack: hummus and veggies: 120
    Lunch: more chili! I have a whole trough left... 300
    Snack: hot chocolate: 120
    Dinner: tilapia leftovers w/ broccoli and 1/2 pasta: 350
    total: 1150

    So, I hung out with dad today and this is what happened...
    Fri 1/22
    Breakfast: I did good here, shredded wheat cereal: 120, and then it happened...
    Snack: small serving of tortilla chips w/ beans, cheese, and salsa on top: 300
    Lunch: large veggie buritto w/ beans, cheese,rice, lettuce, and a tiny bit of avocado: 500 (hopefully not more)
    Snack: mini box of chocolates: 280
    Dinner: brownies... dear Lord.
    Good thing is, while dad was here, I made him bring the treadmill out of the garage and into the house so that I can work of the smorgasbord of food I inhaled today!

    Sat 1/23: I had my younger siblings for the weekends so kinda just ate what they ate BUT we exercised both days to keep things in check. They know I'm on a mission!

  • Hey girl, just thought I would share that there is a great thread in the Weight Loss Support forum that I recently joined called Food and Exercise Confessions #3. A few of us ladies post our daily intake and exercise every day as well as offer support or encouragement if needed, so you should check it out. Keep it up though, either way you can do this!
  • Hey I'll post my food tmw if I remember! Although I dunno how much good it'll do since I'm gluten free and I eat meat (not every day, but still). And I'll read yours! Woot!

    Breakfast: Oatmeal w/ brown sugar and 1% milk, hot tea to drink
    Snack: special K strawberry bar
    Lunch: Lean pocket - white chicken pizza
    Snack:Yoplait Whip Yogurt
    Dinner: Western Omlete Cass.
    Snack: Wheat english muffin w/pb and half glass of milk

    Tues 1/19
    Breakfast: Chex cereal with a hot cup of tea
    Snack: apple
    Lunch: pepp. pizza lean pocket w/milk
    Snack: special K bar
    Dinner: white chili w/iced tea
    Snack: cereal

    Breakfast:

    Lunch: part of a sub from subway
    Snack: snack on celery w/pb for a few hours. ( didn't have that much but it took a few hours to eat them because of being busy at work)
    Dinner: another piece of sub and a little bit of chicken w/rice (this wasn't all at one time..a few hours apart)
    snack: popcorn

    Sat 1/23
    Breakfast: oatmeal brown sugar and tea
    Snack: banana
    Lunch: the rest of the sub (this was a party sized sub we had for lunch at work yesterday)
    Snack: half piece of cake
    Dinner: left over piece of fish w/bread as a sandwhich
    Snack: cereal

    Breakfast: a slice of GF food for life bread with almond butter and jam (about 200 calories, that bread is 120 calories/slice!)
    Snack:
    Lunch:GF spaghetti leftovers with extra lean beef and tons of veggies (300 calories)
    Snack:1 oz of plain corn chips (140 calories) and 1/4cup salsa (about 50 calories)
    Dinner: red beans and rice (200 cals)

    Tues 1/19
    Breakfast:1 slice of GF bread with almond butter and jam :200
    Snack:
    Lunch: Husband's "famous" GF (Gluten-Free) homemade veggie pizza, 2 slices: 450 cals
    Snack:
    Dinner: Leftover pizza 2 slices: 450 cals

    Wed 1/20
    Breakfast:same old same old (it's soooo good!) 200 cals
    Snack: 1 cup of red beans and rice: 100 cals
    Lunch:1/2 a california chicken burger and 1/2 a side of fries (without bun wrapped in lettuce, it's soooo good!): seriously like 850 calories. Geez! All of the stuff on the GF menu is the super caloric!
    Snack:
    Dinner:side salad (romaine lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, 5 green olives, and 1/2 oz reduced fat feta cheese) :100ish calories. Oh yeah!

    Thurs 1/21
    Breakfast:same old same old :200 cals
    Snack:salad with .5 oz feta cheese and 5 green olives (no dressing): 100 calories
    Lunch:1.5 oz corn chips and 1/2 cup salsa: 250cals
    Snack:
    Dinner:veggie soup and a slice of toast: 200 cals
    We're planning on having tater tots and some red beans and rice a little later, so I'm saving calories for that.

    Friday 1/22
    Breakfast: same toast! 200 calories
    Snack: 1.5oz corn chips 1/2 cup salsa: 260 calories
    Lunch:salad 100 calories, beans and rice150 calories, cranberry juice 100 calories
    Snack:I realized I was WAY under calories, so I had 1/2 cup of ice cream: 200 calories
    Dinner: beans and rice 150, cranberry juice 100 calories
    Total: 1260

    Sat 1/23
    Breakfast: toast, pb, jam: 200 cals
    Snack: 1.5oz corn chips, 1/2 cup salsa, 1oz reduced fat cheese 310 calories
    Lunch: Salad with 1/2 oz feta cheese and few green olives 100 cals
    Snack: 1 serving of ice cream 200 cals
    Dinner: 1.5 cups semi-homemade cream of tomato soup, grilled cheese sandwich (2 slices of GF bread and 1 oz reduced fat mozzarella cheese) 420 cals
    Snack: Same salad I had for lunch. mmmm.... 100 cals
    Total 1330

    Sun 1/24
    Breakfast: toast w/pb and jam: 200
    Snack: Small salad w 1/2 oz feta cheese and green olives: 100 calories
    Lunch: 1.5 oz chips w 1/2 cup salsa and 1 oz cheese: 330
    Snack:
    Dinner: I made homemade tamales (omg yum!) and I had 2, 220 calorie ones with 1/2 cup salsa: 480
    Snack: I had 1, 150 calorie tamale before bed
    Total: 1260 and I was SO full!!!

  • no problem! I'm glad to have something to break up the day! Between being sick and my fibro, I have plenty of bedrest days (this illness is kicking my butt tho, day 11 and I'm going NUTS). All of this talk about food is making me HUNGRY! Only 2 hours till dinner!

  • zephyr, I already lost that pound i gained and it looks like the scale is gonna just keep moving. i know what you mean about the snacks pit. it can be a trap, good idea not to even tempt yourself with it. i was wanting to eat something soo badly a couple nights ago and just opted for boiled egg whites (the yolks make me puke and are full of calories anyway). it satisfied me and took my mind off wanting to eat the bad stuff. look half an hour though! i almost went for the block of cheese waiting for those things to boil up.

    anyway, let's keep it going ladies! this is REALLY REALLY REALLY helping me. you guys are the best!
  • yeah snacks are a killer for me! I think I just developed a super bad habit! When I was super sick years ago I lost my sense of hunger for a couple of years so I would forget to eat until a day or so had passed (oops!) so I developed the habit of just eating every time I thought to do so. Since then my feeling of hunger has come back and I just kept eating. So now I only snack if it's going to be too long till my next meal. Today I'm going to have a snack in between breakfast and lunch because "lunch" will be 2 hours late and I don't want to not eat for 7 hours! But not a big snack, maybe 1/2 a banana or something.

    Today is good so far but I've only eaten breakfast! We'll see how good it goes later!
  • hey girls! only 3 days left of posting! how have you guys been doing??
  • I'm doing ok but I'm frustrated cause my friend lost a bunch of weight without trying and I'm doing my best and I'm stalled out! I'm on my TOM and I am just starting to be up and moving around again and I know that's why, but it's still frustrating!!! I was at the grocery store today and I did find some gluten free little mini ice cream cartons (you know the ones with like 1 cup of ice cream in them each) and I'm super excited about that. Once something is in the house I will totally eat it all, so only having 2 cups of ice cream in the house (one for hubby one for myself) will be a cool way to have SOME but not overdo. I have resisted cracking into it yet so that's cool.
