hehe! must sleep, but really quickly: yay wknd! exercise and good choices for all, yes yes?? :p

hey tuende good luck tomorrow!!

sun -- i don't know you yet, but that's adorable! :) we wanna be theeeere!

Kirjava 02-26-2010 08:07 AM

sun, I hope I get to join you there within the next two weeks. I'm crossing my fingers for another big loss tomorrow, so we'll see!

Oh tuende! Middle schoolers! Yikes! I don't blame you for being too tired to work out. When I was in teacher's college, I practice taught in a Grade 8 class, and those kids ran me ragged. My second practice placement was in a Grade 3/4 classroom... much better!

I had a horrible dream last night that some kids in secondary were in my classroom totally messing up the place, wouldn't leave, were trying to steal things from me, and I had no control over the situation at all.

Oh well. Today is a kid-free day so the teachers can work on report cards, so it will be pretty relaxing compared to most days. I love doing report cards!

stargzr 02-26-2010 10:24 AM

sun - We miss you! There are quite a few of us who are teetering near the 150s so hopefully we'll all come over together!

tuende - You poor thing, I'm sure your stress for the day got your heart beating faster more than once. ;) It's ok to skip a day here or there. Hope good news is the report later (on the interview).

party - Yes, good choices this weekend!!

kirjava - Glad that was just a dream! Have fun with report cards today.

I'm being a little frustrated at the moment with the scale. I do realize I'm on TOM and it's "normal" to get stuck or go up... but I think I'm adding stress to myself about being so close to done losing. Hopefully I'll have renewed faith once TOM is gone. ;)

OnlyWomanInTheHouse 02-26-2010 10:37 AM

Hi everyone, been a long time since I've been on here. I'm actually 172, but so close I think this is the place for me because I want to blow right through the 160's!! I was 194 in mid November 09, 22 pounds down so far!

I need to drink more water today, and take my vitamins.

Off to update my profile/tickers/etc. :dizzy:

jmfan317 02-26-2010 01:41 PM

I'm officially in the 160's I weighed in this morning and 168 lbs. Its nice 2 see a new number on the scale but I hope 2 get 2 the 150's by the end of Apr. or earlier if possible. And I'm only 1 lb away 4m hittin my first mini goal.

Kirjava 02-26-2010 06:40 PM

Welcome to the thread, OnlyWoman and mjluva! I hope your stay here will be short!

stargzr, I can see why it would be frustrating since you met your goal... if you weren't at your goal, being stuck or going up a little bit wouldn't be quite so hard to take, but if you gain a little now, you probably feel like you're not at your goal anymore? I hope you get a big whoosh after your TOM so you can feel more comfortable and happy at your goal weight!

tuende 02-26-2010 07:23 PM

OnlyWoman and Mjluva, welcome! Even though we all hope to pass through here as quickly as possible, this thread is a great place to be :)! And mjluva, I dig the profile pic. While she is slightly terrifying, it is a great reminder of everything we all want to accomplish.

And good news everyone: the interview went well! I won't hear until Monday whether I got it or not, but I'm really hoping I did. I could use a little consistency in my schedule, even if it's only 3 days a week! And yes, that will be three days a week I will not have to teach middle schoolers, so all the better!
Kirjava, you are lucky that was only a dream because you pretty much described my day yesterday! Except for the fact that they were stealing from each other instead of from me, it all sounds way too familiar! Although, I wasn't too stressed about it, mostly because I've dealt with way more challenging situations. When I was teaching in Kenya, at the beginning the kids would pinch me when I wasn't looking, pull my hair and call me "mzungu" (white person) all day. Seriously. It was mostly out of curiosity and not malice, so I couldn't get too mad, but it was still pretty weird. Good luck doing report cards!

Party-YES! Exercise and good choices all weekend. This is my goal- I need to get "back on the wagon" or whatever the appropriate saying is. Yes we can!

stargzr, try not to be too hard on yourself or stress too much about it. You'll get there, just keep doing what you know you need to do!

Kirjava 02-26-2010 11:12 PM

I'm glad your interview went well, tuende! I hope you get the job and don't have to deal with middle schoolers anymore! It must have been so interesting to teach in Kenya, even if the students were a little tough to begin with. How long have you been teaching for? Have you taught in any other interesting places?

This is my first year teaching, so aside from practice teaching I haven't done a lot. The way I see it is that if I can survive teaching up here with my sanity intact, teaching in the south should be a relative piece of cake! If there's still a job available here next year, I'll gladly stay another year or maybe two, but I don't think I could live here permanently.

Edit: I just did my weigh-in and I'm only down 0.2lbs this week. I did have that awesome loss last week, so I'm not devastated, but I was hoping to see at least a pound. I started doing weight lifting and stuff in an effort to tone, so perhaps I should have upped my calorie intake to compensate.

MiSSxB 02-27-2010 11:15 AM

Gotta love insomnia :(

Good morning everyone! My weight is still 161.8, but I found out at my physical yesterday that I'm 5'5", NOT 5'4"! Yay for that extra inch!

Kirjava 02-27-2010 02:35 PM

It's amazing what one little inch will do in terms of approaching a healthy weight! I'm glad you found out you're taller than you thought!

Lori259 02-27-2010 03:00 PM

tuende - So glad the interview went well... Hopefully you'll be hearing some great news Monday.

lori - I'm hoping for 159 for you soon!!

I've finally hit 160 today. I'm so close to the 150s I can smell it
I hope to hit at least a solid 159 by next weigh-in... (and after TOM has gone).
On another note I went to my first hockey game last night! It was great fun - hubby and I went on a date to it ;) We'll definitely be going again!

fashinjunkie09 02-28-2010 02:59 PM

Welcome OnlyWoman and mjluva!

sun, we miss you too! Hopefully you will still be there when I get there!

tuende, I'm glad your interview went well! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that you get the job!

kirjava, a .2 loss is great! I would wait 1 more week and maybe let your body get used to the new workout routine and if you still don't have a loss then maybe up your calories. Let us know how it goes!

miss, yay for that extra inch! What an unexpected surprise!

Lori, you are doing so amazing I hope you reach 159.8 soon! March 7th is a special day for me as well (my bf and I's anniversary and also the day I found out I was pregnant with our son) so I know how much it would mean to reach your goal by then. I've got my fingers crossed for you!

stargazr, yay for 160!! I'm sure you will def see 159 (or lower) on your next WI and hopefully I will join you not long after!

Unofficial WI this morning was 162.6! I'm very excited but going to wait til my official WI in the morning to move my ticker. Maybe it'll be even lower by then. :) Everyone is doing great, let's keep it up ladies and we'll be outta here in no time!!
