64 lbs

  • So in a year I have lost 64 total pounds...It's been a journey and at one point I went on a 4 month binge and gained 19 pounds... started back up...lost those 19 pounds and then some...

However after 64 pounds I feel like nothing has changed...it is such a strange feeling... I'm proud of myself however it's just like I feel exactly the same... maybe because I still have a lot to lose but I should feel somewhat different shouldn't I?
  • Congrats! This is def worth posting in the mini goal section. Keep up the good work.
  • I feel that way too - I know I've only lost half of what you have but I feel like I should feel different too! I worry about how much I'll have to lose before I feel a change... It's weird isn't it.... People talk about your head needing time to catch up with your body. Or maybe look at some progress pics if you have any? Maybe that would help? (I should look too, but I'm too afraid in case I don't see anything )
  • I know what you mean. I think that for me a big thing is to look in the mirror when I feel that way. I haven't lost as much as you have, but I do get a bit restless sometimes in my weight loss. BUT, I would never trade all that I've gone through and the way that I eat now for how I looked and felt back then. You're doing a great job and I know from your success so far you'll stick with it. I second the idea of pulling out pictures for comparison. Also, remember how you used to feel when you were 64 pounds heavier... I'm sure it'll reassure what you're doing now is SO much healthier.
  • Okay first of all - you are AMAZING Congrats on the 64 lb loss

And I do know what you feel about how nothing has changed. I think we're all just used to ourselves a certain way, and even though we "KNOW" things are different, it may take a while for our mind/feelings to catch up with us.

Keep it up, you are truly an inspiration
  • 64 POUNDS!!! Are you kidding me?! You lost a 2nd grader! You've done an amazing job and you feel proud, astonished, overcome with joy because you've achieved an amazing that most of us may never see happen for ourselves. I understand your apprehension because in your eyes you still have to far to go, but don't forget how far you've already come. you've made changes already that will positively effect the rest of your life. excellent job haley! your mind just needs to catch up with your body.
  • Maybe you should go to the gym and try to lift 64 lbs and then you might feel more positive realizing how much lighter you are. I always love on the biggest loser when they do that. It's eye opening for sure.
  • You've lost a second grader!

That was a great line! Loved it! :P

I can totally relate(weight lost and time frame same for me) too except just today my husband looked at me and said Honey- you look so skinny... it helps when others notice and comment... I think it will take longer for my mind to catch up, eh! Congrats!!!! Keep on truckin! Some days I feel it more than others-

I definitely think you should post in the mini-goal section-
  • Go Haley!!!!!!!!!!!!

All you need to do is get on a plane and come to san diego, and we'll walk around the beach, and all the surfer boys will be checking us out like heeeeey...
