ya, know what you mean. Are you doing a particular diet? I might go and have a look at some books tomorrow. Thing is if its very complicated or involved a lot of prep i just know i wont follow it. I've heard the easiest thing is to just cut certain foods, like sweets, takeaways, bread etc. seems like a place to start anyway.I dont really want to count calories, tried it before and it was tedious

Ive tried every diet under the sun...literally...hahaha. soo Im thinking of getting rid of all the crap...and watching what I eat...but Not counting or anything with points because I'll get bored and stop doing it.

Im having to weigh myself...now thats the scariest part...

but we will do this...

Hey there!
It can be overwhelming to start, so that's a great first step.
Play around with different diets, see what works for you. I personally find that counting calories is the only way I ever lose weight. I use www.fitday.com. I even use a scale to weigh my food to get an idea of what a portion size is. Its helped me realize everything I eat. I tend to do a lot of mindless eating, and this had pretty much put a stop to it. I've also, for the most part, cut out alcohol. Though I will have one glass now and then.
See what works best for your. And have fun with it. It doesn't need to be all serious.

Hey Alicia. I'm Meg. I'm like you ... in my twenties, obese (around 280) and ready for a change.

Im going to make mini-goals and have a reward for each goal of losing 20pds ... pedicures, etc..

Good luck, we can do this!!!

Alicia, Welcome!! I'm Amy and like you, when I was 24, I realized I needed to make a change too. I set a goal when I was 17 to fit into a bikini by the summer I was 25...which was last summer. I reached that goal and have since lost 50 lbs. and am still going strong. You've come to the right place. I can honestly say if it weren't for the wonderful women here on this site, I'd probably still be sitting in front of my couch with a pint of chubby hubby feeling sorry for myself. We're here for you, and will do it with you every step! Should you need anything, let me know!!!
Wishing you the best of luck
