Default That Dirty Word: alcohol

Is anyone still drinking alcohol every once in awhile? I do a "girl's night" every two weeks and decided I would allow myself a couple of drinks during this time. I am a mostly a beer drinker so I am not sure if there are any liquor drinks that aren't to bad when it comes to calories,sugar,etc......thanks

Vodka soda with some splenda in it is the lowest cals I can think of, around 80 cals.

I also like vodka with soda & a squirt of lime juice or a splash or s/f cranberry juice.

There are several beers that are really low cal. Michelob Ultra is one, Miller Lite is another (my fav!) and I just saw another one advertised on TV. It was like 64 calories.

Unfortunately they all have calories.

I'm a big beer fan too, and those low cal ones are a great idea, but they lack in taste (of course!). Just wondering if there was anything more creative out there.

I can't deny alcohol. I'm horrible and weak what can i say. though I stick to red wine and keep it to a two drink maximum.

vodka is delicious.. good vodka that is, like g.g.

I would just advise against mixing alcohol with splenda or diet soda - the alcohol reacts with the chemicals and it gets you drunker quicker. Its a good thing and a bad thing.

Champagne! About 90 calories a glass, and it gets you pretty drunk as well. Use it as a mixer and you'll be gone, so be careful!

Vodka Tonics with lime are a good fall to drink, and the new Bud Select 55 is actually quite good for a ultra light beer. Red wine is a good drink too, in moderation.

I still drink at least once a week most weeks. I'll just plan for it and have a few MGD 64s (Becks Light is also low cal if you can find it). And I think mojitos are supposed to be pretty low for mixed drinks, but you might wanna double check that

Yes I do, but not a lot. I was never a big drinker.

As I am watching sugar and GI I just switched from red wine to white wine spritzers - and actually like them a lot!

Yeah, because mojitos are technically supposed to be ice, light rum, sugar and mint leaves, without a mixer. Not many places make them like that, though.

Well, that explains why I'm pretty far gone after a few drinks when my fiance and I have our "drunk gaming" nights.

I do and have the ENTIRE time during my weightloss journey. It's one of the things that I won't deprive myself of and I NEVER crave.

I have joint custody with my ex so I don't drink when I would have my kids....now that they are older, that has changed a bit over the summer. 2 are in college and 1 is a Jr. in HS. My BF drinks beer just about everyday after work, not excessively but almost everyday. So I enjoy a drink with him or when we are with friends. I really only see him on the weeks we don't have our kids.

Having said that, these are my go to drinks:
  • Mick Ultra
  • Vodka Martini w/tomolives
  • Bloody Mary's (usually at the river w/friends in the morning)
  • Pinot Grigio
