And what's in that pill that you already get with a balanced diet? Drink a cup of coffee and eat an orange??
Exactly. If you're eating a well balanced diet and taking a multi-vitamin on top of it, there is no need for supplements. They actually make "multi-vitamins for weight loss" that contain a little extra of each vitamin/mineral IN CASE you're not getting enough whatever. I'd trust those before I'm going to go with something like the above.
  • She even has it advertised in Woman's Health magazine. It makes me wonder about the magazine now too.
  • Well, anyone can buy ad space, these days they're just excited to sell the space I'd bet they're not discriminating. But yeah.
  • is this true?? wow I can't believe it. JILLIAN MICHAELS of all people coming out with diet pills? she's totally not practicing what she preaches and that's so disappointing
  • I just got turned on to the biggest loser this past week.

I went to barnes and noble today to check out her new "master your metabolism." Based upon what I read in there, I'm not surprised that she came out with a line for exactly what she posted.

There is also a difference between "diet" pills and "supplements." Most athletes take some sort of combo of supplements to aid the body.

Pills like these also fall into a gray area for consumers. Any vitamin or supplement is NOT reviewed by the FDA. I know I've been told you have to be really careful with things like protein shakes for example. They can contain all sorts of nasty stuff in them for you.

Does this mean they don't work or it's just hearsay that they work because a scientist didn't look at them? Not really. It's anyone's best bet to consult your doctor and get blood work done to see where your body's levels are for vitamins and minerals and discuss what you should be adding to your diet.

I think Jillian saw an opportunity to provide people with a package of supplements she feels comfortable with. Sure it's more money in her pocket, but she is also not selling a "diet pill" plan. I say, cut her some slack ;]
  • Anyone notice she suddenly stopped doing her radio show right before these pills came out. I wonder if she bailed out of radio because she would of been getting a ton of calls from people asking why she made the pills and maybe she wouldn't have been allowed to promote them on the show.
