Default Feeling like I'm being pulled under...

I've been sick for almost a week now. It first started with body aches and a sore throat. Then it moved on to something like a cold with a sore throat. Now all I have is a really sore throat. All this week I haven't been able to anything because I'm so weak. Of course it also happens when my husband has 2 precious days off and has to spend them taking care of me. He's really good at it so I don't complain but how unfair! We've been planning all Summer for one of our friends back home (Orange County) to come visit. He's supposed to be here in less than 4 hours and the place is still a mess. Every time I get up to do something I have to run back to get a drink of water because my throat hurts. I was thinking I need to take out some sheets for our guest and realized they were no where to be found. I would go over and over in my head what in the world had happened. Then I remembered I had been doing laundry before I got sick. I had left some downstairs in our complex because someone was using the washer and I totally forgot them! I bolted downstairs and OF COURSE they are nowhere to be found. I had really nice sheets, a monogrammed blanket someone gave us for our wedding, and another really nice down blanket which also was a wedding present. I called the housing office but no one has seen the missing laundry. It was even in a lovely pink basket I JUST bought. As soon as my husband gets home we are going to ask all of our neighbors where the dang laundry is. You need a key to get in the building so it HAS to be one of our neighbors. I'd like to think someone was nice enough to save it for us until we ask for it. Let's hope. After that discovery, I realized our guest still needs a bed. We don't have a couch so I went to pull out our trusty air mattress. I blew it up and realized we had tiny little holes all in it from the cats clawing at it. Great...

So here I am at t minus 4 hours. Thinking about how much an air mattress is going to cost us (it was a nice one.) Realizing I STILL don't have a bed for our guest. Loathing all of our kleptomaniac neighbors. Realizing I need to go to the grocery store and fix a nice meal because we can't afford to go out.

Oh yeah, the garbage disposal is broken.

I know the song, Sound Like Life To Me. Does it make it any easier?

Try your best to see the positive in everysituation. I know it's tough.

Can you patch up the air mattress? What we do is take our air mattress outside and get a bucket up warm water with lots and lots of dish soap in it. Then we cover the mattress with the soapy water using a rag. Like DOUSE it. Whereever there are holes - the soapy water will start to bubble and you'll be able to patch it up. Works like a charm. Hopefully that helps.

Sorry about your laundry, but at least now you get to meet all your neighbors? Best of luck!

Thanks for the encouragement. I have those moments every once in a while where I feel like its the end of the world. It wasn't. I'm so sad about my blankets though.

I'm glad SOMEONE replied!
