Default A Tiny Victory

I'm in Boston for work, and this is usually the time I completely fall off the wagon, so I'm super psyched for myself today...here's why:

At the airport this morning, I usually get a huge calorie laden latte, and today I got herbal tea and didn't even sweeten it.

Then I missed lunch due to said flight and work stuff. I was starving at 3:30 so I decided to take a walk and find something to eat since our dinner isn't until 8:00. I walked past Starbucks and all their bad stuff into a deli where I got a sparkling water and a greek yogurt. I know its really small but I'm just so excited for what it represents to me. A new path! Woo Hoo!

Anyone else have a small victory today?

Cj

Congrats! I guess my small victory today was swimming for an hour. I used to swim a lot but haven't been in the pool for about a month. I started out feeling really sluggish and kinda wanted to give up. But after the first 600 yds I was warmed up and ready to keep going!

I had something semi good happen. At work they put out a bunch of leftover chinese food after a meeting. I made myself a plate and after a few bites, decided to stop eating it, and take it home for my boyfriend. I mean I wish I didn't eat those few bites, but a few months ago I would have eaten a whole plate and then gone back for more even though I had eaten lunch a mere 1.5hours prior.

I didn't feel like going to the gym today, so I called my roommate (he just bought a new mountain bike) and was like hey, wanna ride bikes? So we rode around the neighborhood for a while. Its like rolling hills and I was struggling, but he explained the gears to me and then it was smooth sailing. I got a work out, but I wasn't DYING. Maybe a year of spinning is FINALLY paying off. We found out that my bike's brake is broken (haha) so hopefully I can get that fixed and don't have to borrow a bike. Biking to the gym could be fun.

note - I used to rid my bike ALL THE TIME in NJ, but my hometown is considerably flatter than our neighborhood here.

Great job ladies! Small victories count! Mine is trying out a healthy scallop recipe. It was so delicious with brown rice and veggies! YUM

My small victory is that when my mom and I found ourselves strolling into an ice cream shop after having chicken salads for lunch, I got the smallest size available. And even though it was AMAZINGLY good (pina colada flavored, mmmm), when I got 2/3rds of the way done and was full, I stopped eating. Which is not something I used to EVER do. It used to be that if I got ice cream I wouldn't stop eating until it was gone, even if I was completely full. Even if it wasn't very good, actually.

So yeah, a small part of me wishes I hadn't had ice cream at all, but I still consider it a small victory.

I gotta say Pinki.... I am majorly impressed and quite jealous. That definitely is a victory in my book! I always associated airports with vacation and that means... food food food!!!

Oh! Yesterday I was so sad because I'd had NO victories

Today was great though because:

1- At the cafe, I was going to buy banana bread, but because they didn't accept interac, I could only get an espresso! (I drink my coffee black, so yay!) Not exactly a victory, but divine intervention!

2- When I got my (fabulous) haircut, I enjoyed my latte and did NOT eat the cookies! I left them, the best cookies evar! Wow!
