Anyone attending school/college? Well I didnt take any summer classes and I'll be back at it come sept school,work,family.......I must admitt I am a little nervour/worried because with my hectic schedule it means that I am going to have to fit my workouts in most mornings.......I dont mind getting up early because I have to but the actually thought of working out is another story. My classes are in the AM starting at 9-9:30 so that means that on most days Ill have to get to the gym in between 7-9 then go to class then work. I can workout at night but it wont be likely because Ill use that time to study and family time.
I think I got use to working out as much as I want and when I want since I havent taken summer classes and maybe it spoiled me, anyone else attend college/some type of school?
I'm a graduate student. This summer I've really been taking it easy - working about 40-50 hours a week in the lab, no classes, very little work at home (reading, etc). I've had all kinds of time to cook and exercise!
I am a little worried that when school starts up again, and I'm expected to work those 40+ hours AND go to classes, I'll be overwhelmed. Then in the spring, I've got my research and classes and teaching and starting to write my proposal and study for my qualifying exam... we'll see how that goes. Most of last year my husband wasn't working, so he did all the cleaning and whatnot at home, but now he works full time, which means I have even more stuff to do!
But, like TXJess said, you'll find a way to get everything done that you need to do. Just think of it as valuable time-management experience! It's just too bad we can't put it on our resumes, lol.
I'm a grad student as well. I'm very nervous about the semester to start--twice before I've abandoned my efforts to be healthy and lose weight when school started up. Working out is part of it, but mostly I feel stressed and I'm not in the mood to cook a healthy meal, so I wind up eating a bunch of crap and giving up completly.
So I'm planning ahead, and this year I really want to stick with it.
I'm with you ladies! I start back to law school this week and I am very nervous about fitting everything in. I did summer school earlier this summer, but it was only one class and I have been out for about six weeks. I'm trying to do really good on my exercise and continue the nightmarish process of organizing my home. I have always been a pack rat and now I am trying to get rid of all of the excess clutter in my life.
This semester I will be in classes, interning for a judge, working on my school's law review (which is a monster time commitment), and competing in moot court. I have no idea how I am going to fit in my house organizing and exercise with all of this. Also, I can't cut out sleep (as I have in the past) because I have developed a heart condition that will get worse if I don't get enough rest.
I'm just going to have to take it one day at a time.
im starting online college in the fall. i'll be majoring in psychology. the only thing im worried about is since i'll still be working full time if i'll have the energy to do school work in the evening.
I'm going back to university for my last semester! I can't wait actually. I like school waay better than this 'real life' of work that I'm doing right now (co-op placement). It is a lot more flexible IMO. Ahh I'll miss it.
I've been thinking about this all summer! I go back next monday and have 16 classes in uni! I'm in dental school so they cram everything realllyyyyy tight which means I have school every day from 8 to 5. With an hour commute. I've found a way to squeeze WW into my schedule because I found a meeting on my way home from school. But working out.... that's another story. I have no clue what I'm going to do. My plan so far is to not do anything so that's not a good plan.
How do you girls who go to school AND work do it?
I'm a total study freak and my concentration and energy goes 100% into school so I don't know when I'll be able to work out. Especially since all the time I'm not in class I'm either studying or in the lab
I too will be trying to figure out how to tackle grad school, work, home, and health. Its very overwhelming when I look at the big picture, but if I focus on just the next thing, then it feels more manageable. I'm one of those people that gets stuck planning and doesn't do, so its better for me to just get out there and start. Anyone else like that?
I'm going back to school after taking a semester off. I've really missed it, but at the same time I'm incredibly nervous. I just transferred from a school of 5,000 to a school of 30,000 so it's going to be a lot different..
I actually think it'll be great for me health wise because I'll be so busy I won't have time to binge and think about food all day.
Yep.. I start one week from today! I'm excited just to have something to do! Ha. But I'm sure you'll be able to fit in some gym time.. just don't get down on yourself if its rough the first couple of weeks - it'll prob. take some time to get used to everything switching around! Good luck
I just started grad school 6 weeks ago. I actually find it a lot easier, food-wise, than a regular desk job or sitting at home all day because I don't have time to eat! I plan my meals for the day, pack a lunch, and that's that.
I've started exercising in the mornings before I leave and I really like it. I know that by the time I get home in the evenings I'm soooo tired and all I want to do is eat and sleep (and maybe fool around on the internet) that there's no way I'll exercise.
