Default What did you accomplish in July?

So July is over (yikes!) and we are out of time to post losses for the month, so to combat that feeling of "oh no July is over and I only lost xx lbs" (if applicable), let's talk about all the cool things we did accomplish this month

I had a nice NSV for the last day of the month--I did some metabolic fitness testing with a trainer and was in the "superior" range for my demographic. He said he only sees a handful of women who can crank out 300 watts on the spin bike, so that felt really good (The test was really cool and I recommend it if you have the means).

What are your guys' July NSVs?

Good idea for a thread!

I officially started my half marathon training schedule this month and am up to an 8km run tomorrow...

I took some progress bikini shots, and for the first time saw a big difference in the shape of my body.

I ran my first ever mile in under 10 minutes, something I've wanted to do since literally middle school.

Today I ran sprint intervals and did sustained 1 min sprints at 8mph, which I'm pretty sure is the fastest I've run, ever.

July was my first full month on plan since I restarted my weight loss journey!

I exercised consistently - I try to do 50 minutes a day 6 days a week. It was hard to get into being physical again, but I feel I've made a good start. I've been jogging and I'm to the point where I can do 20 minutes pretty easily... In the past 2 minutes made me feel like I was dying.

I stayed on a healthy eating plan all but 3 days - the 4th of July weekend was a bit brutal, but I was able to get myself right back on track. Since, I have had a ton of cravings and an intense desire to binge countless times, but I've overcome.

I lost around 8 pounds in July. This allowed me to fit into some clothes I had never worn because they were just a little too tight.

All in all, it's the best month I've had in almost 2 years.

Since July was really my first month of this weight loss thing, I can say that I surprised myself with my determination to not quit after a week.

I counted calories pretty consistently, cut out fast food, and didn't binge once! Even on my birthday.

What a great idea!!

In July I moved across the country, gained some weight, but lost more than I gained! This is totally a scale thing, but it makes me feel good that I managed to do this even with the stress of starting a new job (where my manager HATES me) moving into a new place, and leaving all my friends.

I started running semi-regularly, I fit back into an old pair of size 12 pants, and I gained the confidence to wear tight-fitting tank tops again without the need to cover up my hips and muffin top with a jacket of some kind.

And the beautiful $300 Danier leather jacket that my mother gave me a few months back because it was too big on her (and still too small on me...) now zips up and fits me like a glove... instead of how it zipped up before, which was "barely" and "unattractively."

Non-Scale Victories

-I walked an 8K for Breast Cancer (Pink Ribbon Walk)

-I got back in the gym (I've been torn b/c I can go to the student rec center downtown for free except the commute and parking make it not so free. I finally joined the Y, only $20/month, close, and free parking!)

Scale Victories

-I broke out of my plateau! I could not for the life of me get past the -25 lbs mark but I made it this week!

-I went on vacation and didn't gain weight... didn't lose either... but I DIDN'T GAIN WEIGHT! I think it may have been the first time ever

I'm in the 180s! It's been a darn long time since that's happened.

And I got back into my running after taking two weeks off due to some minor, unrelated injuries. I'm so excited to say that I've stuck with it for over 6 weeks!

Congrats, stellarose!

I... lost 7 pounds and made it into the 170's. I started experimenting with cooking healthy desserts, like baked apples. Oh, and I managed to make the switch from logging all my calories into the DailyPlate, and now just logging them on my phone instead (I only use the DailyPlate now just to look up calorie counts for items I don't know/am unsure of). This takes up MUCH less time and I've done it successfully for 3 weeks now and am STILL losing. =D

Jellbb, you're like me! I'm so relieved! What I mean is, you're now a healthy BMI by 3 pounds right? And I'm 5 pounds away from being a healthy BMI, so 8 pounds away from being like you, 3 pounds into a healthy BMI, and right now I'm wearing 14's. I can zip up my 12's but they give me a muffintop. I bet in 8 pounds they'll fit perfectly.
My friend who is your height wears a size 6 at 145... and you wear a 12, right? Most of my friends have low pant sizes at higher weights, so I start to get jealous, but your body seems to be more in line with mine. What body type are you? I'm apple. I know you said you don't have much of a butt... neither do I. My 14's are so baggy in the butt right now lol. I should compare pant sizes with you as we lose weight since you seem proportionately like me! =D

Congrats on your victories, ladies! We're all kicking some butt here!

Meg:
*cracks up* She wears a 6 at 145? Well, that's just disgusting, lol. Yeah, I'll never fit into a 6.
I'm not an apple... I'm more of a cello, or a pear... essentially, I've got a bit of a smaller top when I lose some weight, but I balloon out at my waist. Short waist... from chest to navel... really wide hips. No butt. Case in point.
What it comes right down to, pants-wise... is that the waistband will always sit at the widest part of my body, so it keeps the pants to a decent size. I think my frame alone could barely fit into a 6, hehehe. I'll keep you updated on my pants sizes as I lose! Currently I seem to be a very firm 12.
