  • Okay, so since the economy totally SUCKS right now... I've been thinking more and more of us just getting dressed up and going to city hall and then having cake and a nice dinner with the fam afterwards....

    ANYWHO

I got all excited when I saw this dress... Never tried it on or anything, but i think that it's pretty and is nice for a city hall wedding... Any thoughts?

CRAP. It wont let me copy and paste... Here's the link... And if anyone has any suggestions that is under the $100 mark, please let me know!
  • I really like that dress. Very pretty, and looks very feminine and flattering. I really, really like it
  • I really dig it. I think it would look great for what you're planning.
  • i like it, very cute!
  • Very nice!
I will tell you that my dh and I got married in a park. It was just our parents and siblings. The lady from the courthouse met us there to perform the ceremony. My dress was about $150. Then we went out to eat afterward. It was nice and it didn't cost a lot of money. You have the right idea! Weddings don't have to cost a fortune for it to be special.
  • My parents just went to city hall and eloped too, and I think that my mom wishes that they would have had a bigger wedding. You (theoretically) only get married once, so make it special.

Some are $100 and under (and unfortunately the $99 sale in stores is over) but maybe you could find something. If you do like a dress from the online DB, then you really ought to go to a store and try on similar styles since their sizing is different and all sales are final.

If you want my honest opinion, it would be to wait a while to get married and then have something special. That's what my boyfriend and I are doing.
  • Please Check Out:

    Target & Fashion Bug Online

    Search: Bridal

They have some fabulous deals on gorgeous dresses. Also, I bought my $900 dress on ebay brand new for $250. Give it a look there too!

But I do like the dress you picked out! Check target and fashionbug!
  • I like it a lot, and it's perfect for the occasion you described! I say go for it!
  • It's beautiful! It looks like it would be very flattering for all body types. My parents got married at City Hall and don't regret it a bit...they consider the reception the best part of a wedding anyway.
  • Very pretty! I bought my wedding dress from JCPenney, too... that's what I'm wearing in my avatar.

We ended up having a bigger wedding than we originally planned... we had 10 guests instead of zero. We didn't do a reception (we went out to lunch at Red Robin afterward with 3 of the guests, lol), but we had dinner a few weeks later with some of my family, and our church threw us a 1-year anniversary picnic which included most of our friends and my husband's family.

I think it was great -- but then my husband hates ceremony of all kinds, and I've always found weddings terribly annoying (aside from the free alcohol). I hope no one is on this site whose wedding I've attended, lol.
  • I love it! My wedding dress was actually a prom dress from the Deb for around $100. My maid of honor actually bought it for me. (My parents weren't really interested in paying for anything for our wedding)
You can wear your wedding dress on other occassions instead of letting it hang in the closet for years.
  • i LOVE the dress you picked out it would be perfect for a court house wedding. I think you will look Wonderful in it...

please let us know what you pick out!!!!
  • To bad you don't live around here. I drive by a place on my way into work and they have their wedding dresses for $50 right now. Not sure what they look like but its a heck of a deal. When I got married in 2002 (divorced now), I went to David's Bridal to get mine. I like the dress you posted too. I think you will find that you will have more choices necessary! Good luck!
  • that dress is super cute! i say its perfect!
