How do you push through??

  • How do you get yourself up when you feel defeated?


    I'm a pretty strong person.
    I don't think I've ever failed at anything in my life except for weightloss and I don't understand why. I need some insight, and maybe insight won't even help. I catch myself eating just to eat, and I feel like I'm slipping back into rut. I need help not to let that happen.
  • I have that same problem - I eat not because I'm hungry, but because it feels good or because I'm bored or just because the food is there.

    Have you tried keeping a food journal of some kind? That's really the only thing that works for me - if I track everything I put in my mouth, then I eat much more consciously. I use the Daily Plate.

    I know breaking bad habits can be really frustrating, especially where food is concerned. Just keep trying!
  • Honey, I think we're all figuring it out along the way. Weight loss is one of those things where nobody is gonna get it all right and especially not on the first try. You said yourself that you've never failed at anything, and you're not gonna fail at this. I see you said you're eating just to be eating. Maybe you can start with a food journal. Writing down everything you eat and how you felt/ how hungry you were when you ate it. It may give you some insight to your eatting patterns, and maybe you can try to avoid some of those triggers.
