I had what I would consider an Einstein moment while driving to work this morning. This may be a "no-duh" for some who may have already figured it out, but it was a revelation for me!
Now we all know that if we fall off the wagon and go splurge on whatever our vices are; be it alcohol, junk food, fast food, etc., then we're bound to see the repurcussion of our actions on the scale pretty soon after. Well I've figured out a way to ease our frustrations as we not-so-patiently anticipate seeing the drop in numbers back down to what we were prior to the splurge. If you know how long it takes to go away, maybe it'll make the world a little more sane.
Calculation:
Length of time you spent indulging multiplied by 1.5 = time it takes to get back to prior weight.
Example: You go out for a night on the town on a Saturday. Multiply this one day by 1.5 and it'll take until mid-monday to get down to where you were Saturday morning. Keep in mind that it's better to weigh at the same time as you normally do to have an accurate number.
Example 2: You spend a week jumping on and off the wagon (as I did last week

). Multiply the # of days by 1.5. This has been tested by your's truely as I spent 4 days off track last week with the last time being Sunday night. 4 multiplied by 1.5 = 6 days. I am now on the 3rd day after and am 182.6 after being 186.6 at my highest so am on track to be back down to 181 (where I was prior) by Friday-ish.
Neat right? LoL I like to know things in advance and work with numbers all day so this is groundbreaking for me.
So the next time that you go off plan for whatever reason and see a jump in numbers, don't fret because you now know when to expect that you'll be back to normal.
Wha'd'ya think? Any personal examples from others that back me up?
**Note: This is all under the assumption that you make a full flege leap back onto the wagon with staying on plan.
