Alllrighty...need some advice

So I have started up my exercise routine after a few months of just plain being lazy. I am doing a 55 minute Pilates/Cardio sculpting type DVD every morning before work. I have also ordered the 30 day shred which should come soon and I am super stoked to start it!

Ok my problem is this: Every time I start a serious exercise program (meaning more than once or twice a week), my appetite just triples. I can't help it. I have learned from the past that you can work your butt off and not lose a pound because of eating too much but I just don't know how to control it because I feel physcially hungry, it's not just a bored or unhappy kind of hungry, I really want food! It's almost like I could lose weight easier with no exercise since when I don't work out, I am easily able to control my appetite. If anyone has any tips, love to hear it!

My best advice would be to stuff yourself with really low calorie foods. If your body is truly craving sustenance, you have to give it food!
Things like green vegetables, or chicken broth, or rice cakes are things that I fill myself up on when I need to get some food in me in and around meals.

There's a list here of low-calorie food options:

Good luck!

I used to do my workouts in the morning, before work and I would be violently hungry for the rest of the day, because I couldnt handle it, I switched to an afternoon/evening workout. Anyways, the best thing you can do for your body after a workout is to give it carbs, so what I recommend is prior to your workout have either a protien shake or even something as simple as a piece of fruit (nothing too sugary, something like an apple, berries, or an orange) and after your workout have a bowl of oatmeal, healthy cereal, or a bagel. Because of your workout, those carbs will be like they never entered your body they will be worked off that quick, plus a good starchy breakfast should keep you full until your next snack! Hope this helps. This information comes from a registered dietician, just so you don't think I'm telling lies :P

I think spacing out your meals appropriately and not ever getting to the point you are ravenous. Don't skimp on your fats, they help you stay full. I also try to avoid high carb meals late at night. If I want a big ole bagel, I will have it in the morning either before my workout or right after. Making sure you are well hydrated is very important. I think zoning in on how you feel when you are eating a certain food is very important too. Pay attention to how full you feel and if you are satisfied by the serving size. I think paying attention to labels will get you everywhere. I like to have cereal before bed. So I have a bowl or Cheerios or a whole wheat English muffin with a little honey. I have trouble sleeping and always weigh more in the morning however if I have had something with a lot of sodium. I get gut aches and just feel yucky. So along with fat, calories, carbs, and fiber, I really pay attention to sodium. A lot of your low fat foods are filled with a ton of sodium to make up for bland taste. Pay attention to that. If I have an event or something I am going to attend, I just try to fill up on foods that I know won't make my gut scream for mercy.
